"Food very nice but extremely slow service. Place wasn’t too busy and what other tables there were seemed equally as annoyed. From what I could see the hold up was a young lady working on the pizza ovens who clearly wasn’t having a great day. Ordered the rocket salad which should have come dressed but it didn’t. Asked the staff but they said there was none. It was on the menu though and we’d had it before dressed. To not even offer an alternative wasn’t very attentive. The salad was basically rocket leaves and Parmesan. Kids dessert was on the menu as coming with hot chocolate and marshmallows but it never came. Had to chase this up."

"Just took a delivery of a Sals Kiev with chips and garlic bread. We asked for the garlic bread to be crispy (as it always should be) and the receptionist said no problem. What we got was disgusting. The pizza was cold, the chips were frozen fries and the garlic bread was a finger roll with garlic butter in the middle awful (and cold). The pizza dough was also under cooked which I would have thought is almost impossible. We called back to register our concerns and the receptionist was less than helpful. She basically didn't give a c**p. Some customer service. The strange thing is we were not asking for out money back we were just giving feedback but she didn't care. This is only my 2nd tripadvisor review ever and I hope the Big Als owner sees this and takes some action. We asked the receptionist to pass our concerns on to the manager but I seriously doubt that he was informed. Maybe a change of staff would be in order. The sad thing is Big Als 20 years ago was really good. Obviously standards have dropped. We will never order from Big Als again. Just a pity we don't have any decent take outs in Ballymena."

"The service was very slow upon arrival, we waited a while to get a drink and menus, with no acknowledgment from staff. We ordered the Sunday calvery expecting to help ourselves (Like you would generally expect to do at a calvery), however, we were served the food from the staff direct from the calvery. Which i have never experienced before. We felt that this was a despirate attempt to save money, by means of portion control! Myself and my husband left feeling hungry still and what was even more shocking was that even though my husband did not want to eat a lot of the vegetables on offer, they didnt give any extra portions of other foods on the calvety which he actually liked! As a result after our meal we both felt very unsatisfied. It was very small portions and they seemed to be scared of giving you what is considered an 'average adult ' amount. However, despite the carefully placed small portions the food was very tasty! I just wish the staff were a little more observant, welcoming and we could have actually have helped ourselves to the food on offer as we always have done at other calveries."

"It was our first and last time at the Tipsy Cow. We booked a table for breakfast and got poached eggs and the baked eggs. Food arrived in a timely manner but was a far cry from what was described on the menu. Baked eggs were meant to be eggs on a bed of vegetables with tomato sauce and sourdough bread. What was received was a bowl of tomato soup with 8 or so baby plum tomatoes floating near the bottom and a single egg haphazardly baked on top. The egg white was not fully cooked and there were no vegetables to be found in the bowl of tomato soup. To make matters worse, I wasn 't even given a spoon for the soup eggs and instead had to fish out bits of tomato and uncooked egg with a fork. The staff never once checked in to ask if everything was okay with our meal. Service was poor in general with staff being more interested in gossiping at the bar area than tending to their patrons. We waited around 15 minutes for the bill after asking for it. It never arrived so we had to go up to the bar where all the staff were congregating to pay for our meal and finally leave. A poor experience all around."

"We are staying just down the road and we're looking for a nice local pub for a drink and some food, so we popped in on Friday evening. The first thing that we both noticed straight away, was how busy it was. This is not a criticism as it was so nice to see a full pub on a Friday night, with what was obviously lots of regulars having a drink or two. Very refreshing and everyone seemed to know each other. The landlady was very warm and friendly and we felt very welcome. They also loved our dog, Bert, but that's a gimme really, as he's so friendly. A few decent ales on tap but to be honest, the real star of the show was the food. A very decent menu offering at very fair prices. We both chose the steak and kidney pudding with chips and it did not disappoint. The crust was just like my Mum used to make and the filling, gorgeous steak, kidney and gravy, was from top to bottom. A full and stunning pud which we both enjoyed so much. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and if we are local again, we'll be back"

"this is a wonderful place. We look forward to seeing that we are going. we are rarely visitors as we only go here when we travel to armagh to go to the marketplace theatre and with kovid it is only our third visit. in about three years, so they don't make much of a living on us. we have never been disappointed here and have really enjoyed our last visit. they receive the meaning of hospitality: the greeting is warm, the eating is great and the whole personal charming. I chose a steak chip, but it was a scarce thing to a delicious sounding vegetarian risotto, but it was my third din in 4 days with the other two not meat, so steak it was. I asked for medium, I have medium. the flesh was really tasteful. I asked for English senf (best in the world) and it was a yes and I tipped the tweeper rings for taboos and it was no problem. only in order to pass on the number of so-called steak houses, which have not been English, is as exaggerated as it is unacceptable. the tasty steak had a bacon jam on top. I never heard of it. it was salty, sweet so speck, balsamico vinegar perhaps sugar, I ate it all, although my personal preference remains senf. I would like to try it as a spread on roasted crumbs with a slightly fried egg above. the only thing I would change in my meal is the pfeffer sauce, but again it is personal taste as I would add double cream and much more black pfeffer. my wife decided to laugh and she explained it delicious. everything in all in a cozy environment. Hopefully we'll be back sooner than later."

"Had a great meal here whilst staying in London on a business trip. Visited on a Wednesday night with our table booked for 19:00. It was fairly quiet but got slightly busier as the evening went on. The service was excellent, very attentive without being overbearing. The sharing platter to start was very nice. Had the Hangar Steak as a main which was excellent, not a bit of fat on it and cooked to perfection. Wasn't all that impressed by the dessert menu, but that's just personal preference. Would definitely visit again."

"What a great find down in the old lanes of Seaford an unpretentious , cosy atmosphere of a restaurant pub, with the friendliest of barmaids, and landlord. We even bumped into the chef outside (compliments to him for the tasty grub consumed ! Went there with my son and still being a bit nervous about dining in public with the recent covid lockdown, we were put at ease with fantastic covid measures in place (temperature taken, taking contact details and then we quickly moved on to eating like kings two evenings in a row (eat out to help out scheme, which on a budget for a few days down by the coast seemed too good to be true (although the normal menu prices were entirely reasonable aside from this!! recommend the chicken wings/blue cheese dip and the delicious steak, with homemade onion rings. When we were there , the other clientele were made up of older couples, families, and groups of men belonging to some kind of club all very convivial and non intimidating the vibe was very relaxed and everyone seemed happy , chatty and catered to. I only wish I can visit in the colder months when they have the roaring fires going after a walk along a winter windswept seafront I bet it’s like a cosy blanket entering into The Cinque Port."

"My partner and I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening and we were incredibly impressed with everything. We had made a reservation and pre-ordered our smoked meats a few days in advance, as the restaurant is small and tries to minimize waste. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and ordered drinks. The special was a raspberry mojito, which I tried, while my partner ordered a standard mojito. Both cocktails were delicious, and we were lucky to be seated close to the bar where we could watch them being prepared. Our food order was taken about 10 minutes later. We started with some chicken wings, which were cooked perfectly and had a crispy skin. The blue cheese dip was a winner! For our main dishes, my partner had the ribs and I had a burger with blue cheese and bacon. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. My burger was delicious, with two large patties and fresh bread. The chips were also great, and the portion size was generous. However, the real highlight was the ribs, which were large and meaty with a beautiful seasoning. The staff were all friendly and attentive throughout our visit, creating a relaxed atmosphere despite being busy. We will definitely be returning soon!"

"Wildly unimpressed. Scotland is not known for its Mexican food and it’s easy to see why. Our 7:45 reservation took 2 hours to get our main courses after they clearly forgot to enter our order. Then when they realized it they offered us our food take away so we would leave. We insisted on dining in at that point, and our food was not correct when it was finally delivered. My wife’s burrito was basically a tortilla filled with sour cream and my enchiladas were ordered with a request for no sour cream and they were covered in it. When I notified the waiter, it was taken back, clearly scraped off and then just another layer of cheese was added. Every bite still tasted and smelled like sour cream. The enchiladas were mostly filled with tomatoes and onion instead of the chicken I ordered as well. Would not go back, even though the margaritas were at least well made."

"My self husband and sister in law visited On 23rd sept Ordered starter to come first then main meals. The starter and main meals arrived together so asked informed the waitress That we asked for starter to be served first The waitress that brought the food out was not very polite or helpful I know that the main meals were left under a hot plate whilst the starter was consumed because we returned the main course I know the staff were busy but customer service needs to be looked at If I treated people in my job like this I would be pulled up and reprimanded. The other thing is female toilets need to be checked more often"

"I always enjoy the burgers at GBK, though I can never finish them. Food: 4.0 I recently opted for the blue cheese burger at the Spitalfields location, and it was truly delicious! That being said, I attribute my inability to finish the meal to the cheese. I only asked for the 1 portion. . . I can only imagine how rich the two portions of blue cheese is! The skinny chips were delicious as always. If crisps and chips had a baby, that baby would be the GBK skinny chip! So cute, crispy, and tasty! My partner in crime shared a chocolate milkshake with me (seriously, kudos if you can finish one of those behemoths! The flavour was great wonderfully creamy and chocolatey. That being said, I found the chocolate sprinkles scattered throughout more annoying that anything. They don't add anything to the flavour, just an unexpected crunch I never get used to. For whatever reason, I don't like my drinks crunchy! Their strawberry milkshakes, though those are amazing! Service/ Ambiance: 3.0 The ambiance and the service are pretty interlinked in this case, so I'm rating them as one. I'm not a huge fan of this location. It is huge, but somehow completely crammed at all times. It has a feeling of being chaotic. The servers always seem a bit confused. People get pushy. They also wouldn't accept my taste card, so that was obviously pretty devastating. I'll probably be back. But the next time I want a GBK burger I may get it to takeaway."

"The pizza here is incredible! I wholeheartedly recommend it. I haven't had a pizza in years, and I will definitely be coming back more often. It's the best pizza in Surrey, and the service is quick—my pizza was ready in just 10-15 minutes. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5."

"After a great experience on her first recent Groupon deal here, my friend bought the same deal and arranged to go again there were six of us. The offer was 2 courses and a bottle wine between 2. 1 From reception, we were directed to a lift, to go up one floor and 'follow ' the blue signs. Reception staff offered a guide but we felt we should be OK.... There was no blue sign as we got out of the lift ... So we milled about a bit, then split up and explored! 2 of us went down a long corridor and found a sign which took us down a few flights of stairs!? God knows where the others went as they arrived 5 minutes later Bear in mind one of our party cannot walk far. Eventually, we found the restaurant and we were were ushered to our table right at the end, in a cold, dimly lit area, opposite what must be the breakfast hotplate area. It was not very pleasant. The chairs and tables were 'tired '. There was a heater however, which we quickly switched on; but we didnt really get totally warmed up. The waiting staff were lovely though. We were given the menu which was dramatically reduced from the previous visit, to 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts. £7 extra for 3 courses . We were shocked and disappointed in te lack of choice compared to the choices advertised. When we came to order wine it was House white, rose or red again no choice unlike previous visit. It was the last straw and my friend, embarrassed after raving about her last visit , asked to speak to the manager. She calmly but firmly told him of her previous visit; the extent of the menu and wine choices; compared to the choices on this ocassion on the same deal, and those as advertised on Groupon. He blamed Groupon and said we should complain to them as paraphrasing here the till/computer wouldn 't let him enter choices outside the Groupon menu as printed. We asked if we could pay more for a different choice as last time was £5 extra for steak . He would mot allow that. The food when it came was OK, though portions were small. The white wine was awful, so we changed 2 bottles to Rose which was only marginally better. 2 of the party ordered beers, and the manager, after prompting, agreed to give 50% off the beers. After her great original experience, my friend had also, unfortunately, bought another Groupon deal for a spa day. After reading reviews for the Spa, she 's not looking forward to that! So, my advice is Don 't buy a Groupon deal for this hotel. Don 't book until renovations are complete."

"I went here over the weekend after finding them on deliveroo. I ordered a takeaway which was good. Good enough for me to pop down and have a meal. Saturday and they are busy but I'm promptly taken to a table. I ordered at the till and waited for my starters. 15 minutes and I'm tucking into my BBQ wings. Sweet and smokey, very tasty and cooked well. I ordered a takone burger which was great. My mate ordered a classic with Jalepenos and he also loved it. I ordered sweet potato fries which weren't really my cup of tea so I stole some chunky fries from my not so happy friend. Can't fault the service or the food. The staff were attentive and also good company. We spoke to J who was a funny guy. Thanks J and thanks Loaded. We shall meet again soon."

"We had the Prince Charles is overrated and sadly that was an apt description of our meal. We last went to 7Bone 5 years ago and thought we would go back as fancied a proper burger. The burger arrived with chilli cheese chips and frickles. The burger itself was OK but it was served in a bread roll that showed no vestige of having even been shown a toaster or grill and had gone so soggy at the bottom it stuck to the burger with a wallpaper paste type consistency. I peeled the burger from said roll and ate that...I was hungry. The chilli cheese chips, what can I say! Insipid, lack lustre with a splodge of chilli cheese dumped over the top. If the above wasn't enough the biggest disappointment was the frickles. Last time we had them they were succulent long slices coated in a light tempura batter and we couldn't get enough of them they were so delish. This time the were bits of gherkin cut across ways and embedded literally in a hard batter. I had to cut them out of the batter to eat and gave up in the end it was too much of a chore for so little result. The blue cheese dip that accompanied the frickles had no taste of blue cheese and was so runny it dripped all over the place when used. Left for a few minutes and an oily layer appeared on the surface, not at all inviting. The place was buzzing and the service was excellent hence the 3 stars. We won't be returning."
