"This review is strictly on the afternoon tea experience only. The food was absolutely wonderful, the lady who served food and the male staff (presumed the owner) were both very kind and friendly. I felt that the afternoon tea was an absolute treat since there was nothing to fault with, that was only until it was ruined by the rude woman who was driving past in black 4x4 (presumed female host). After we finished the afternoon tea, I decided to let my dog out from our car to let him stretch his legs before we set off, the rude woman mentioned above asked me if I was looking for a public footpath so I answered no. She then started to lecture me about the ‘no dog policy’ in the property as well as pointing a direction to the public footpath I did not ask. She drove further towards the car park and parked there, got out of her, and started to tell me off in the most rude way possible again. I explained that we just had an afternoon tea here and we’re about to leave. She then turned around started to take stuff out of her boot mumbling loud “stupid..blah blah” in the angry tone, which by the way was clear for me to hear even though I was at least a few feet away from her. I was so bewildered and frustrated at how this perfectly lovely experience went down the hill like this si quickly. Hence I took two stars off even though I did enjoy the food here. Whoever that woman was, please make sure that they cannot behave that way to a guest."

"beautiful, warm restaurant! I came to lunch and had the rabbits and carrots as antipasti and cotoletta traditionale for pornstar. both were amazing and could not mistake the calf cut at all. I also ordered a red wine with recommended from the sommelier and it was beautiful as always. the service was top notch and very friendly. I would recommend to everyone to come here. Thanks again!"

"When I had eaten several times in the shepherd and dog, I was very disappointed last Wednesday. we waited at least 20 minutes for someone to pick up our order, and it was almost an hour when we had set ourselves until we got to eat. we chose from the a la carte menu where past eating was excellent, but on Wednesday the appetizers and main course were very mediocre. nothing like taste, presentation and quality at previous visits. the only saving gnade was the sharing gloomy. we stayed at least one more hour at the table talk and the desert plates and coffee saucers were just left and not removed. my friends and I have often visited for special occasions, but at £40 per head for a midday week without wine we expect better service and eat."

"Amazing quality food, really well thought out and fresh. Not particularly cheap but that reflects the quality of the food, so it's not unreasonable. The location is great, lovely views of the seafront from the conservatory dining room. I'd recommend skipping starters, partly to cut the price down and partly because the main portions are huge."

"The restaurant was quite full at 7:30pm with large parties and noisy children. In fairness it was Valentine's Day. Whilst it is always nice to see families with children dining together the somewhat intimate ambience the brasserie seems to target does not seem best suited to young diners. Possibly the problem is that hotel does not offer a more suitable restaurant option for those with youngsters. The bar area serves food but is rather large and not exactly cosy. The food was OK. The onion soup was extremely tasty but the cheese in it was surprisingly over generous making it a struggle to eat. The wine list is as you would expect in a London hotel, was quite expensive but with some excellent options. I made the mistake of asking for a brief pause between starters and main which as it always inevitably does, turned into an unacceptably long delay."

"everything was very good and delicious. I'm just a bit disappointed by my beef stroganoff because it's a French restaurant and I expected it to be served with pasta instead of kartoffeln. also the kartoffelmaic was not seasoned. but overall I recommend the place, beautiful atmosphere, very clean."

"We arrived hot and bothered after walking from a Fulham match and were made very welcome. Great food, we started with sardines and burrata with pumpkin, followed by gnocchi and a special, black linguine with crayfish. All were excellent, as was the wines, white grillo and red montepulciano d'abruzzo. Very friendly service."

"Wow! The cheese board at this restaurant was accompanied by a selection of various wines, which was amazing. The only downside was that there seemed to be fewer staff than usual, so we couldn't have our usual table service despite having made a reservation. We had to wait at the bar to be served, which was not what we had hoped for. It turns out that there was a broken glass pane, and an employee had to take it out of the floor to wash glasses by hand. Despite the busy atmosphere, the bartender who served us was incredibly helpful and provided excellent service. He even brought our wines to our table, despite being so busy. He had long blonde hair and really went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable."

"I've visited this restaurant several times, and the food and service are both excellent. However, I have one complaint about the background music. I don’t understand why restaurateurs feel that a meal must be accompanied by music that makes conversation difficult. It’s particularly challenging for me, as I have a hearing issue and had to ask for the volume to be lowered, which they did. But honestly, soft background music should suffice—there’s no need for someone belting out songs. When this happens, which is often these days, I just want to leave."

"Well what can I say about this place, I'll start by saying the food was very nice but the rest of the service was lacking. Tried to use meerkat meals 241 offer my advice would be don't bother attempting. Rang twice to book as advised...on the app and was told to ring back the 1st time and no name taken the 2nd time? Anyway back to the visit....outside its stated on a board 241 cocktails all day every day apart from Friday Saturday evenings. Being Wednesday evening we was told that they didn't do cocktails only sangria so that's what we had. When we asked about the meerkat meal offer we was told 241 on starters, mains and deserts (standard) when attempting to order we was then told we had to have the same item for starters, mains etc. We wanted tapas not the same meal what is the point of that! We then asked for other choices of menus i.e. the main menu we had seen online we were given the all you can eat menu £14.95 and lunch menu that was served after 5pm??? Random??? After 20+mins we just opted for the easiest option of the all you can eat because it was getting very confusing to say the least! There was only us in the place may I add. A couple who came in after us tried to use a taste card with no joy either. Main point for the waiter which I will call shambles' is know you offers at least, if your not going to honour discounts such as meerkat meals taste card don't be on their sites and there is definitely a reason why you place is empty. If you want everyone to eat from the all you can eat menu then just offer that. Seems like shambles' was on commission for bamboozling people into this menu and also selling sangria. What happened to the cocktails on the menu??? Anyway good luck if you visit"

"I was gutted when you changed direction to focus on venues, as you were always my “occasions” place to eat. However last night you opened back up to the public (think my wife is on your mailing list). last night you food was simply amazing. And every course was spot on. We ordered from a set menu in advance.. I was very pleased with what I ordered but watching the staff bring food to the tables I had food envy. I ordered steak for my main and it was the best steak I have eaten out in Cheltenham, credit to the Chef as it was cooked as ordered (med/rare). On the whole extremely enjoyable night, very polite waiting staff.. Hopefully you will do the same again soon.. Only minor complaint we sat in the conservatory, it got very warm windows were open but it could have done with a breeze or an aircon unit."

"Came here for a business lunch, it was okay but nothing special. The bread on arrival, although a nice touch was stone cold. The wait for the mains was quite long, our waitress although polite she didn 't really seem to know what she was doing. She hovered a lot over our table when coming to take our orders or ask if the meal was okay, usually they just come over and ask with confidence but she just hovered over us until we looked up so we found this a little uncomfortable. My colleagues had steak, which one enjoyed, but others were bleeding on the plate. My avocado and crab was fresh and light, but the chocolate lava dessert, not sure what was lava about it, it 's described as a cake with chocolate sauce but the sauce was a drizzle of what tasted like the treat sauce you get from Tesco out of the bottle. I wouldn 't return sadly."

"After visiting several gauchos (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle) This was certainly the best in terms of the service, and most importantly, the quality of food. Spiralised fillet was cooked to perfection, and my wife’s ribeye was delicious. Service was attentive and everyone very helpful and welcoming. Will be visiting again."

"Very lovely place, good food and live music is a and this is the main reason we are coming often. However, no matter how good is the place, the staff is very rude. Specifically one of the waiters (white hair guy) after we finished our dinner he brought the bill and placed it loudly hitting the table in front of me .. and while we were thinking that this was a misunderstanding… moments after he poked me and showed me the POS in order to pay. He brought the POS literally in front of my face while I was having a conversation. Later the same waiter came to collect the glasses of wine that we were still drinking and when we refused he ironically showed us the empty bottle of the wine splitting the last drops to our glasses. While my friend was holding at her glass, the guy turned the bottle 360ᵒ by spilling the last drop of wine on her dress. His behavior have been noticed also previous times and it is really disappointing for such a nice place. We feel really sorry about him and we wish him to fix soon whatever triggers this behavior."

"Why is this place so quiet? We visited on a Friday night and, despite a few people at the bar, we were the only ones dining! The restaurant is stunning and contemporary, and the food and service were excellent. It was a bit challenging to locate the restaurant (especially in the dark and rain), but considering the high quality of food at such reasonable prices, this place should be bustling. We would definitely return when it's busier."

"The Honest Lawyer is some where we held in high regard, and would go here to celebrate certain occasions, anniversaries, birthdays etc. Unfortunately, since our last visit a few months ago, the menu had changed and losing that french/indian cuisine it was know for. We ordered our drinks, and the food. The wine came no problem, but 45 minutes after placing the order, we were told that the order had not gone through due to Wifi problems and they would put it through now. Another 20 mins passed, and no food arrived and we were informed that it still hadn't gone through due to the same problem, and they were working on our meal. The meal arrive an hour and a half after our arrival. The food that was served was incredibly salty. The cheese sauce for the steak seemed to be curdled, and too much salt. Equally for the duck, the skin was fatty and wobbly, instead of being crispy and golden, and still incredibly salty. We were compensated with a free large glass of wine, but equally this wasn't great and we left it. The wait staff both apologised for the issues. We paid £70 for a very sub-standard meal and service. We promptly left after having our main, and sadly, we will not be returning to the restaurant."

"My husband treated me to the 5-course tasting menu for my birthday, which included a glass of champagne for £65 per person. The meal itself was pleasant, with good portion sizes, tasty food, and friendly service. The jazz music added to the atmosphere without being too loud to carry on a conversation. However, the prices for drinks were steep, with a glass of rose costing £15 and the cheapest bottle priced at £60, which we found to be excessive. The lounge we were seated in for pre-dinner drinks was beautifully decorated, but unfortunately, the strong smell of cigar smoke and constant use of the cold outside door made it uncomfortable. Due to these factors, we do not recommend this venue and do not plan to return."

"The restaurant space was dark and gloomy we were the only diners in our largish area, there was no atmosphere and any ambience was lacking. It needs to be more informal and welcoming. It felt dowdy and corporate, not living up to its name of The Neighbourhood. The menu was interesting and the portions generous The starter of prawns were good. I had fish and chips The batter was stodgy and bready, the chips were overly large and unappetising. My partner had salmon broth and it was was a generous portion and very tasty. We had a delicious side salad. All in all the food was fine but something needs to be done with the decor and surroundings to make it more attractive. It is competing with some other very trendy places in the vibrant community of Bruntsfield"

"Greeted at the door by a selection of Gaucho 's smiliest employees, you are instantly made to feel important in the glitzy interior of London 's favourite steak churning chain. The first stage and a true highlight of the Gaucho experience is the introduction to the different cuts of meat that the restaurant offers. This includes a viewing of each cut, and an explanation as to how the anatomical composition of the eastern Argentinian cows grazing on 19 different species of Las Pampas grass affects the taste and texture of each. Naturally, the second stage is the food and drink itself. We sipped on our delicious strawberry and elderflower martini 'special ' cocktails before tucking into a shared starter the extremely tasty Sausage Platter. The mains soon followed. I had ordered a 400g rare fillet steak that, had it been on the menu, would have fallen somewhere between the Bife de Lomo and the Chateaubriand. I was assured that I would be able to cut it with a spoon an audacious claim but not drastically inaccurate. With this, I picked at thyme finished Chips and Spring Greens that were also brilliantly cooked. Finally, I sampled the Dulce De Leche Profiteroles and the 'special ' chocolate meringue cake for dessert, which, as I day dream about what I am to cook for my lunch, have my mouth watering even now. I was there for a saturday evening dinner for three peak time yet the service was little less than exceptional, despite (or perhaps helped by) the fact that the waitress verbally contracted to serve our table claimed to have only very recently been hired. A little management led kerfuffle over our table towards the end was made up for by the gift of a glass of dessert wine each, a touch that rounded off an excellent evening at this meat lovers paradise."

"Best pizza in Southeast London! This review is long overdue for our family's favorite spot, which we've been visiting for about three years. The pizzas are incredibly authentic, absolutely delicious, and offer fantastic value. What truly sets this place apart from the competition, aside from the amazing food, are the wonderful employees. Klaudia is exceptionally friendly and always greets us with a warm smile. She has a special connection with our 10-year-old daughter, making her feel extra special. They even create beautiful treats like heart-shaped pizzas for birthdays and serve refreshing limoncello. Alban, when he’s not busy cooking those amazing pizzas, is also very welcoming and always makes us feel appreciated. We can't recommend this place enough; it's perfect for regular family visits. We apologize for the delay in sharing our 5-star feedback – they truly deserve it!"
