"1. When we arrived, we were seated at our table without being given menus. We had to go to the bar to get someone's attention and order drinks.
2. We waited about 25 minutes to receive menus, and when we finally did, we were given only two for a group of 8.
3. We had to ask multiple times for someone to come take our order.
4. When we finally placed our order, we were told that many dishes were no longer available.
5. The waiter accidentally spilled a whole glass of red wine on the table while clearing the starters.
6. All main courses were served except for one, which belonged to the lone vegetarian in our group. We had to keep reminding the staff, and eventually, a waiter sheepishly informed us that her order had not been taken down, and there was no gnocchi left (the only vegetarian option on the menu). The lack of apology and communication was disappointing.
7. The catch of the day, rainbow trout, was overcooked and inedible.
8. We did receive a 25% discount on the bill only after we insisted, and it seemed that no one was particularly concerned about making up for the poor experience.
9. Finally, we had to chase down the staff to pay our bill, despite the restaurant being half empty at the time. Adding a service charge to the bill and questioning us when we declined to pay it was the final straw. The only time someone appeared genuinely sorry was when the waiter who took our payment apologized and hoped we would consider returning in the future (highly unlikely)."
