"Ordered 2 children's meal's which came a lot sooner than all the adult meals. We had already astablished that the chips were not cooked in fish oil beforehand It became apparent that 1 of the child's meal was fish instead of chicken...we told them of this,they did offer to change but the child declined as they'd nearly finished most of the other food on plate and they were embarrassed (it wasn't until her Mum asked that we discovered it was fish) I pointed out to waiter it could have been dangerous as you were already aware of the fish allergy in the party When the adult meals arrived we thought that we'd ordered children's meal in error given the size of them,not very hot to be fair considering how long we had waited but we didn't say anything(all same food) as we just couldn't be bothered with another complaint We had to tell the server twice what we were drinking on arrival and still one drink did not come as requested but couldn't be bothered to wait to have it changed I have to say they did take price of said child's meal off bill. We decided not to have desert and left still hungry and half the party are not even big eaters. Won't be returning No pictures as not worthy of pictures Dietary restrictions: Asked if chips were cooked in fish oil so obviously there was an allergy in the party but still a member of party was served fish instead of chicken. "If you think Italian food is your local Italian on the high street think again. Dieci introduces you to flavours, concepts and dishes that will transport you the fields of Tuscany, the cobbled streets of Florence and the terraces of Rome. Whether it’s the main menu or some of the smaller bites that are available, each dish is perfectly crafted and executed to the most exacting standards. You can tell that head chef Fabrizio pours his heart, soul and a lot of love into each dish. The innovative edge he brings to classic Italian ingredients is a joy to behold and each mouthful will send you to heaven. Parmesan churros, arrancini, carpaccio with tuna, Burrata with sun dried tomatoes, a goats cheese medallion these were just some of the delights we sampled. For mains, we had steak, with a sweet, rich and creamy peppercorn sauce. Dessert was sensational. Panna cotta, tiramisu, cheesecake and a chocolate fondant bathed in salted caramel sauce. Everything was simply perfection. This is Italian food taken to the next level. An artist who has mastered his craft. The settings are tranquil. If you fancy the perfect end to the experience, the attentive staff will take you to the cigar bar where you can sample the finest cigars in the city. The service is impeccable. Maurizio and Claudio made us feel extremely welcome and the attention to detail was evident throughout. Quality runs through the veins of this establishment and it is a must try for anyone looking to push the boat out for a special occasion. Could not fault any aspect of this visit. 11/10"

"Newcastle Village Hotel, you can’t REALLY expect to deliver a shoddy cash-grabbing experience like the party of 09/12/2017 and not be called out on it. £30.00 for a turkey dinner? Maybe, for a quality Norfolk bird with ALL the trimmings cooked to perfection; absolutely NOT for this spew. In fact the difference between what it said on the menu and what was served up is so brazen that one can almost admire the cheek of it. The “Proscuitto Wrapped Turkey Breast” was not wrapped in ANYTHING: it was just cheap-tasting turkey breast, like cash and carry stuff. Likewise the “pigs in blankets” HAD NO BLANKETS: They were just cocktail sausages, and not quality ones but the type that contain trotters, ears and lips. The stuffing made Paxo taste like the work of a culinary master by comparison, and the only things I’ve EVER tasted that were soggier than the roast potatoes were the roast parsnips in the next tray along. I can’t comment on the sprouts or carrots as I don’t like either: it would have been nice to have had a greater choice. When the hotel emailed us the menu weeks earlier it asked about any dietary needs, so we advised that one of our party had a gluten intolerance. If he expected a bespoke meal he was sadly mistaken: on the night he was just told not to eat the sausages or the stuffing. Two and a half hours later, following complaints, the man who seemed to be in charge offered to knock up some gluten-free pasta. It was way too late by then. To be fair this has been my experience of Christmas parties over the years: the food is invariably overpriced and substandard yet enough people are persuaded to cough up in advance to make them highly lucrative ventures. It’s a cynical business, and the Village Hotel is down there with the worst of them. Oh yeah, and my cracker contained this tiny little spinning top."

"I think the staff here don’t get enough credit for the amazing job they do. You won’t find staff like this in any other Starbucks. Nick in particular is so patient and so kind and so knowledgeable. He thinks nothing of helping anybody and is always so professional. On one single day I saw him tending to a disabled customer repeatedly, including helping the customer sit down safely (the customer has visual difficulties), helping explain which sandwiches were available (remembering the customers favourites) and generally tending to them whilst also serving others. On that same shift a customer came in half an hour after closing asking for a ‘green drink that looks like pondwater’. The customer questioned the closing time and hovered around with no regard for the fact he had said the place was closed but he had offered to make anything he could with the equipment still turned on. Fifteen minutes later as we left he was still helping this customer figure out what she wanted, well beyond closing time when he really didn’t have to. He endlessly goes above and beyond and he’s never remotely unattentive. It’s worth mentioning Rob as well who is always cheerful, chatty and working hard. It’s just a lovely Starbucks and somehow the drinks always taste better than elsewhere too. Maybe it’s the kindness of the staff I don’t know but, it’s quite the hidden treasure in chillwell."
