"Located in the heart of Deddington, this restaurant is situated in a lovely location. During a family visit, three of us dined at the restaurant and were impressed with the exceptional service and extensive breakfast menu. We tried the full English breakfast on our first morning and found it to be excellent. We also dined at the restaurant twice and enjoyed the delicious menu choices. The staff were friendly and attentive. My Mum stayed in a room with a walk-in shower, which was spacious and comfortable. However, my husband and my room was a bit disappointing. While the bed was comfortable, the room, especially the bathroom, needed updating. The bathroom was clean but very dated, with a narrow bath and a shower head that needed replacing. It would have been nice to have a variety of teas and sachets of hot chocolate available in the room. The hotel is an old, charming building that is popular with guests, but the rooms could benefit from modernization, especially the bathrooms, without losing their charm. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I would have given it 5 stars if our room had that extra touch of luxury that I have experienced in other hotels in the same price range."

"I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The service was very poor, with the exception of one server who was trying his best. The steaks were not cooked as requested; the Rare came out as medium and vice versa. I ordered Sirloin but was served Rump instead. Despite the mix-up, the steaks were tasty, but it was a shame as they could have been delicious. The kids' fish dish had more batter than fish, and the kids' steak was overdone to the point of being brittle. A burger came out raw in the middle, causing the rest of us to finish our meals before it was served again. It was difficult to get anyone's attention for drinks and the bill. However, the one good server did his best and removed some of the food from the bill."

"Have been past here so many times, but today thought we would go in and get a breakfast. And we were very pleased we did. The cafe itself is great inside with old style booths in the front and tables with a TV in the back. The food was very nice indeed and we also tried a couple of house cocktails, well why not? They had the world cup on in the back, so we carried on our day with a few pints watching the footie. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Will now be a place we come more often for sure."

"I love this place so much, I have fed here almost weekly for about a year and I will never get bored! I give only 4 stars, as in the last time I feel that there is a little of its flare lost the bean sprudel, lime and chili dishes that they usually get with their phó has dropped in size and does not seem so fresh (might have been like that day) and unfortunately have the fresh spring rolls (especially those with tiger prawn my favorite,) at the same price, but instead of two you have also brought water to your table, but now you just have to cry around the other guests to get some water (it is not the end of the world, but I have always appreciated the kindness.) in general the taste of the soup, sauces and rolls amazing! and for a delicious price (not only in comparison to london standards.) I recommend this ort to anyone who needs a picky P.s strongly recomend the rare bark pho actually gets her with rare pieces and u can even get twice the bark for £1 more! and not be shy with the Siracha sauce at the end of the suppe if they have never tried it, it really adds a kick"

"First visit with friends for dinner 11 Nov 16: cozy open fire and comfy leather seats in the bar area. Decor a bit bland and basic throughout the bar and restaurant but the service was genuinely friendly and food was a fab surprise. The bar style menu belies the great food within. We had rib eye steaks and venison Wellington style and it got served to a 'wow ' factor. The food presentation and food was on par with more upmarket restaurants, and price competitive. Will go again and recommend. Keep it up. N Reindl"

"I really, really wanted to like Hide and Seed- so many wonderful reviews, Zomato had invited me to give it a go, and I'd seen some pretty pictures but unfortunately our experience was not quite as I had expected. I do agree with one thing- the dining room is lovely. The seats are rather plush, I like the whole library vibe' and the photos on the wall... all very elegant. Our waitress was super enthusiastic and attentive, my cocktail was delicious, all was starting well My starter of smoked salmon salad was a lot more salad than salmon- in fact, I felt like it was playing a game of hide and seek with me as a cruel, cruel trick... under the mountain of leaves, some of which had seen...read more"

"This place is a superbly chic modern European restaurant. Its trendy decor blends rock aesthetics with Richmond elegance, creating a vibrant ambiance. The menu impresses with innovative takes on traditional dishes, each dish a testament to the chef's culinary mastery. The wine list offers a notable selection of renowned and boutique European labels. Service is exceptional, with staff displaying deep knowledge of the menu. Despite being a pricier choice, the quality justifies the expense, making Rock and Richmond an excellent pick for a special occasion or a gastronomic delight."

"I had a wonderful experience dining here for the first time. The menu was outstanding. We started with mussels, frito misto, calamari, and beetroot hummus, which were all fantastic. The main courses were equally delicious: we enjoyed the "burger of burgers," whole plaice, barberry duck, and minted pea risotto. We paired our meal with plenty of wine and topped it off with a raspberry crème brûlée and tawny port. The total came to about £30 per person. The portion sizes were generous, and the service was friendly and attentive. I'm definitely planning to return and bring some friends along!"

"We were greeted by the pleasant and smiling owner who led us to an outdoor table in the beautiful garden. All Covid precautions are well adhered to and in place. For starters we ordered the crispy pork belly with apple and black pudding crisps served on a fresh and crispy salad. My husband and I both agreed that this was the best ever crispy pork belly starter we have ever tasted and we have tried quite a few in the past. We both chose the roast topside of beef with Yorkshire puddings, roast and new potatoes and a good selection of fresh seasonal vegetables. Every ingredient was so well presented and well cooked and each taste was delicious and full of freshness and goodness. We opted for the cheese platter to finish with and it came with a fine selection of lovely cheese and biscuits with butter, homemade plum chutney and fresh grapes. As we are new to the area we are so pleased that we have found such a lovely place for dining out. The service was very friendly and efficient and we have already booked for another meal with them soon. Thank you all from the owners to the chef and kitchen crew and the serving staff at the Old Orleton Inn and we wish you all the best that you deserve."

"Pros: -The facility is great. The hotel is very new, has air conditioning, and comfortable seating in the common area. The bathrooms and beds were all very comfortable. -The breakfast was of high quality with a lot of variety included in the breakfast package. -The location is perfect. It is a 3-minute walk from the town center, yet far enough away to offer beautiful views and peaceful mornings. Cons: -The establishment seemed to be understaffed or provide poor service. It was unclear whether the service was lacking or if they were simply short-staffed. There was never anyone at the front desk to offer basic tourist information. When we checked in late at 10pm, we found ourselves locked out with no staff visible, even though their email stated that check-in was possible until 12am. We had to call their emergency cell to get someone to the front desk. Additionally, during our first breakfast, we were questioned multiple times about our stay and room information. It seemed that the restaurant used to be open to the public, which is no longer the case. However, I did not see them questioning other guests as much as they did to us. We were the only non-white guests that I saw, which may have been a factor. However, the next morning, they recognized us and we had no further issues with the service. -There is no elevator. It is questionable to label yourself as "luxury" when guests are placed on the third floor and have to carry their luggage up two flights of very narrow, winding stairs. They did assist my elderly aunt, but did not offer help to the rest of us. Overall, it was an average experience. I enjoyed the rooms and the location, but I believe I could find better service and experience elsewhere. There are many charming inns in the area, so I would recommend choosing another option."

"This is one of our local pubs and, when it was refurbished, we were very impressed. The price was on the higher side, but the menu was amazing; plenty of reference to local suppliers along with some inventive takes on traditional pub food. Service was awesome (almost personal) and the specials board was brilliant. Consequently, we have been here several times, but this last time was a disappointment, especially as far as the menu (which they used to change regularly) was concerned it was just ...well... ORDINARY ... Standard pub style offerings, nothing particularly inspiring. Don 't get me wrong, it tasted fine, was presented well and was of good quality, so I suppose it 's a little churlish of me to make comment; but for the price, I was expecting more of what I got last time they seem to have played safe since we last went... Perhaps that what the great British public want, though? Service was on the slow ish side, ...too few staff... said the waitress, with at least half the tables full, there was one person on the bar and the wait staff were run ragged I hope they get well paid, because they tried their best to remain cheerful. It 's still a nice place, the food is 'fine ', just don 't go expecting to be blown away."

"We chose this pub to take a small break on our way to the Battle of Hastings historical site, which was an easy walk from train station. Very friendly staff and a nice chocolate cake slice made us decide to do Sunday roast on the way back. The food was good, especially the roasted vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding. We chose to eat in the back garden, which had picnic tables and a play area for kids. What made our experience so nice were the friendly staff."

"In terms of service, I noticed that tables could have been cleared more promptly to accommodate new customers, but overall, the place was clean and the staff were polite. It's important to note that this is a cafe, not a restaurant, so there is no need to dress up. The place is quite small, with a maximum capacity of around 30 people, and it tends to get busy with students since it's located near student halls. However, there is a small waiting area for customers until a table becomes available. The dishes are very reasonably priced, and you can have a meal for around £15 per person, which includes a cold drink. I look forward to returning to try more dishes in the future."

"my daughter insisted that we visit chaophraya in some places to appreciate the aromes. we were not disappointed. I chose the chickensatay star and the green curry with cocos rice main to measure the stack dishes. I also chose a scallop ceviché to experience the unique chaophraya side of the menu. all dishes were served very quickly and efficiently. only the aromen of the dishes on the table were mouthwatering enough, the aromen were even better."

"I had the opportunity to visit Farang on Friday. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised of how fresh and innovative the food was. I ordered sea bass as my main dish. It was really well presented and the way the chef managed to master the technique of folding the fish, cook it and serve it in that same shape garnished on a plate it's beyond me. But that was not the best thing about my Thai crispy coconut sea bass was the crissol of different flavours from every single cut as I went carving through it. It started coconuty at first, it moved on to lime taste at the next cut, then a whiff of Thai fish sauce in the middle and a finish of coriander and samphire when I flipped it over. This plate really sent my taste buds into overdrive and I loved it. The restaurant is small and cosy, the staff were attentive and helpful. I was meant to attend on Thursday but I couldn't fulfil the reservation. I am glad my wife and I came back next day; in all honesty it has been one of the best culinary experiences I have had recently and I highly recommend. It is as Thai as it gets"

"I would give this restaurant 0 stars if possible. The online information said it was open and there were no signs outside indicating it was closed. It seems like the positive reviews are fake and written by people from last week. I went in to inquire about hosting a wake there, but the male owner rudely told us to leave because he was on a call. This was very upsetting. I would rate the rooms, service, and location as 1 out of 5."

"Wow, this place is a hidden gem in the heart of Camden and definitely worth a visit. When you first arrive, you may think Anmee could use a bit more decoration with its simple bench seating and whitewashed walls, but don't let that deter you. The menu offers a variety of pho, bún, noodle salad dishes, California rolls, and sides at very affordable prices for being in central London. During my visit, I ordered the roasted duck bún and some prawn California rolls, which were prepared quickly by the chef and served beautifully by the attentive staff. The California rolls were a delight with their vibrant colors and fresh ingredients. The duck dish was equally delicious, with subtle hints of sweet, sour, spicy, and crispy flavors that made for a satisfying meal. They also provided sriracha and hoisin sauce at each table, along with a generous amount of crunchy chiffonade. If you find yourself in Camden, be sure to stop by Anmee near the railway station for a memorable dining experience. You won't be disappointed."

"After living in Hornchurch all my life, I decided to try the Mandarin Palace with a friend on a Friday night. We chose the set menu and asked one of the servers if we were able to swap some of the dishes on the menu (for other items which were similar in price) and she said that this was not a problem. When another server came over to take the order we were told that we were only able to swap 2 dishes. The starters were good (satay chicken, seaweed, ribs, spring roll, sesame prawn toast) and so were the duck and pancakes.. the main dishes did not live up to the same expectations sadly. The dessert from the set menu was fruit and a blob of vanilla ice cream and we asked if we could swap this dessert for just some ice cream but this was refused. It was tinned fruit and nothing special, cheap vanilla ice cream with some squirty strawberry sauce on top, surrounded by a grape, a clementine segment and a small square of melon. I did not see how two scoops of chocolate ice cream would have been an issue. It is very clear on the menu that a discretionary 10% is added to the bill, however we did not wish to pay the service charge as we felt that the service was not anything special (and the fact we weren’t able to swap tinned fruit for some ice cream also) and we had already paid enough for our food as it was more expensive than other places in the area. When the bill arrived, I advised that we are just going to pay for our food/drinks and we do not wish to pay for the service charge and the server asked what the problem was. I said that there wasn’t a problem, it is because it is discretionary. She said that she would have to get the manager and walked off. When she returned with the amended bill, this was in a stroppy manner, nothing further was said and we were made to feel unwelcome. We paid the bill and when we left no one said goodbye. We will not be returning sadly. Attitude around a discretionary service charge, when the food is expensive already and average is not really acceptable. Would maybe expect this charge from a restaurant in central London, but not from a local Chinese."
