"The service at this restaurant was disappointing. I had to wait longer than usual for my takeaway order, and noticed that three dishes had been sitting on the bar for at least 10 minutes before I had to inquire about them."

"first of all, we easily found our table as we were guided by some very friendly staff, and nearly as soon as we were seated had drink orders taken by a very friendly waiter. we ordered the classic 2 for 1 margaritas, which we really did not enjoy but I think this was down to us being wimps more than anything for food, i ordered the cali surf burrito and my boyfriend ordered the el reyes without guacamole, and then we shared some house fries. food was 50% off in january which we thought was a fab deal. i found the burrito portions a little bit too much, purely because the fillings were so rich, but enjoyed mine as much as I could have. I don’t usually like guacamole or pico de gallo either but I really liked it in this. my boyfriend really enjoyed his too the birria beef was really rich. the house fries were as good as fries can be too, although the sauce was not really chipotle mayo, more a lightly flavoured mayo, but no complaints here as i love mayo. to finish off, we ordered some of the blue raspberry frozen margaritas and I was worried they’d be too icy to drink but we found it quite easy and they were lovely. all of the servers were very helpful and attentive my only complaint is that there is a lot of noise in comparison to the sizes of the dining room for reference, we were there from around 4.30 to 6.15. overall a very nice experience with pleasant food and good drinks, if not a bit overpriced in places."

"What have they done??? Ruined! They’ve tried to turn this wonderful street food restaurant into ‘fine dining’. Over 20 years we’ve been going to Bugis Street, Gloucester Road service was always attentive, portions sizes good, food authentic and tasty BUT NO MORE. The waiters and waitresses were struggling, was promised our drinks a few times but they took an age to arrive. The food took quite a while too. The menu has been drastically reduced and the price hiked up to an astronomical amount. The food was all wrong, the taste has gone the laksa had no flavour, was too creamy and the portion size halved, there was hardly any soup in my tiny bowl. The Chicken Rice the presentation was ridiculous the whole point of having the rice on the same plate as the chicken is that the juice soaks into the rice the rice was dry and had no flavour, the chicken was bland. So in summary huge price hike, smaller portions and tasteless food. However, you do get fancy table cloths, beautiful cutlery and crockery and comfy seats!!! Bring back the old chef and old menu keep to your roots Bugis Street. We definitely won’t be back until you do. Such shame. Gutted!"

"I ordered The Don with Chunky Skin-on Fries and Garlic Mayo dipping sauce. It was the best burger I have ever had! No wonder there was about a 15-20 mins wait, because it was worth it. The waitress was adorable. I would definitely recommend it and I wish we would've visited it another time to try something else, it is a must-try!"

"The food at this restaurant is authentic and delicious. My family and I, who have lived in Thailand and have a Thai family member, frequent this establishment often and are always satisfied with the quality of the dishes. The food is made to order, but the wait time is usually minimal. The same woman has been managing the restaurant for a significant amount of time, and the service is consistently friendly and efficient. I don't understand why some people may see the prices as expensive - the staff always put in their best effort and deserve fair compensation for their work. The owner also deserves to make a profit for her dedication and hard work, considering the costs of ingredients, utilities, and business expenses. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"This, our local café, normally closes in the late afternoon about 17:00 this time of year; but occasionally it opens up on a Friday evening, until late, to provide a tapas evening with live music. These are occasions which we try to support as much as we can. Tonight was the latest of three such events that we have enjoyed supporting; it was also the last of the, I believe, four summer events have been held. The format, was as before, to stagger table reservation times to allow the kitchen to efficiently produce plates to order. This reservation system helps avoid what could be bottlenecks, that would surely result, if too many orders flood in at the more popular times. The menu is the same for all of these events; our preferences were again to the fore for certain plates, as follows: Chicken Skewers Greek style marinaded with yoghurt. Vegetable Spring Rolls with sweet chilli dip crispy, crunchy rolls filled with savoury mix of vegetables. Lamb kofta balls with tzatziki dip. Patatas Bravas crispy potatoes in a salsa brava with a creamy aioli. Skin on fries. It was once again a much enjoyed meal and, on this occasion, we had invited my Son to join us. He really enjoyed the plates and the atmosphere. Wine: we chose a bottle of the ‘Definition Pinot Grigio’ from north eastern Italy: very complex and much enjoyed: excellent. This bottle was my Son’s contribution to the evening (apart from, of course, his company). We followed that with a bottle of the ‘Pringle Bay’ Sauvignon Blanc from the Western Cape, South Africa: this was very good; wonderfully refreshing. My Partner and I paid for that one! Wine here is not too expensive, especially bearing in mind the quality. A note to say that the Patatas Bravas plate was excellent on this occasion, because the potatoes were indeed crispy. Our favourite plate, for all three of us, was however the ‘Vegetable Spring Rolls’. These were absolutely fabulous, such a great texture. If this plate was regularly featured on the menu, I am sure it would be a very popular choice. The provision of a sweet chilli dipping sauce is a masterpiece of culinary inspiration. The music for all of these events was a duo singing covers of popular songs accompanied by acoustic guitars. They use guitar mics to amplify the music an their vocals. On previous occasions the band have not been too loud; sadly tonight they were. There were times that we couldn’t hear each other speak, and my Partner had to twice ask the band to tone it down. There is a time and place for loud music and this wasn’t it."

"a small jewel and full of surprises. it is the place that could be to it is cute [blink and they will miss it] but be sure that eating more than does for this when they are there a modern balanced menu that has been carefully considered and presented, offers something for all taste directions. a very courteous and helpful staff comes to help from those of us not quite au fait with all the different elements that help to compose each plate. this is the type of place they go to when they are interested in food and appreciate the art, as it is combined in careful compliment combinations is exact, so a three-course selection is recommended to enjoy the opportunity and fill out the prices are on the top, but this is considered reflexion of the input accepted as any one that has gone into"

"Without a doubt, the BEST Korean fried chicken I have ever had. And I’ve eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life! I make it a point to take visiting friends to eat at 3KOBROS because the quality of food and the warm friendly service makes this an unmissable place and they never disappoint! I feel so lucky to have this amazing restaurant in the neighbourhood. The seafood pajeon, yukhoe, LA galbi and japchae are also some of my favourite dishes."

"Most of the dishes we wanted were unavailable, and the fish we ordered was dry and overcooked. The only positive aspect of our visit was the service. The prices for alternative dishes, like steaks, are quite high for a restaurant at this price point. Overall, we had a decent evening, especially since they are open on Sunday nights, but they really need to make more of an effort, particularly with better ingredient quality that should be accessible to them."

"Four of us ate here, a bit on the off chance as we had planned to go somewhere else, we were delighted with our find! The staff were warm and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious. A good variety of dishes are offered. All four of us found the food to be really tasty and good value for money. We have visited Italy, my daughter lived in Rome and to quote her, This meal is easily in the top five meals I have eaten . I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marino's and I will certainly revisit next time I'm in Kirkcaldy."

"We recently had a fantastic pizza-making party for our daughter’s 6th birthday at the Coulsdon branch. A special thanks to Izzy our party-host who was lively, friendly and patient with the kids early on a Saturday morning! It was so nice to have the place to ourselves. Received lots of compliments from other parents on the concept of the pizza-making party! The two suggestions I would make are: please make it clear on the party description if you would prefer majority of parents to leave the store (but thank you again for accommodating us nonetheless) and background music! I did ask the chef but it never got played. The music during the games was fun though. A kids party was that really good value for money, thanks again! "The concept of the pods is great, offering a nice level of privacy. However, it was quite warm outside, which meant that we had to keep the windows and doors open. Unfortunately, this also let a lot of insects in while we were dining, attracted by the bright lights inside the pod. I suggest dimming the lights or installing air conditioning in the pods to improve the experience."

"I booked in advance to get a good table and still think that this is the best Mexican food in Brighton but the service was SO bad this time. We won’t be going back. We arrived and our table wasn’t ready we had to ask to sit somewhere else to wait and the staff member was clearly unhappy with that We ordered drinks and food and even though our table had cleared were told to stay put squashed uncomfortably on a four person table with a buggy rammed in beside us. I’d understand if we were walk ins. The staff member -I think the owner- was very stressed and busy but made no effort to apologise or acknowledge his gruffness. We all felt uncomfortable with his attitude and it ruined the dining experience. Shame, it was our favourite restaurant."

"it was my daughter’s 17th birthday and we gave her the choice of where to go for a meal. We’re a vegan family that live in mid Cornwall, but she really wanted to go to Plymouth and this was her first choice. Her dad called the restaurant a few times to try to book for later that evening but no one answered we didn’t want to leave a message asking for a booking and waiting for a reply as if it was already booked up we would need to book somewhere else and it would be too late, not knowing if/when we would get a call back in time. We decided to just take our chances and took her to Plymouth shopping, where her dad tried again to call when we arrived in Plymouth but to no avail. We arrived at the restaurant around 6pm and were relieved to see only one other small group eating and a delivery courier waiting. There was no staff around and we wasn’t sure if we just took a seat or not so we walked down a bit to find someone when a waitress walked out from the kitchen area. There was no smile, no greeting and my partner said hello asked if we just take a seat and we were met with being told to go back to the seating area next to the door and wait. It didn’t feel nice and we looked at each other but waited why she dealt with the courier (it was only then, I noticed a sign behind me, so wouldn’t have seen as walking in, saying to please take a seat in waiting area). When the waitress came to us, we asked if we could have a table for 3 we were met with a very long winded message and felt like we were being told off! I managed to interrupt when she got to the part about how we should have called ahead to book and explained we had tried a few times but she said we should have left a message and continued her speech. My partner then stopped her and said, ‘wait, so can we eat here or not?’ and she continued her speech again and said she would have to check the bookings, so my other half said, ‘ so can you do that then?’ we were literally baffled by now as couldn’t believe the reception we were getting and my daughter was really uncomfortable we stayed calm as it was her birthday, otherwise I would have told her off for the way she was dealing with us. The woman went off to check the book and as she was flicking through I turned to my family and said, ‘I’m not happy with the way she’s talking to us, I don’t want to eat here now.’ It was embarrassing as we were stood near the one other group who were hearing us effectively being told off for coming to the restaurant. Anyway, we decided to just leave. We ended up eating elsewhere, where we were immediately welcomed, despite it being very busy. The difference was unbelievable, I’m so glad we didn’t stay and my daughter was cheered up. Samphires need some staff training, but we won’t be back anyway."

"February 2023: Decided to go there on valentine's day. This was also our first visit to Sticks'n'Sushi. The staff is amazing. From the lady who greeted us at the entrance to the waiter who served us and others, everyone was courteous and decent. The ambience was subtle and the dining chair table were elegant. The food Vegetarian): There are some decent options here for vegetarians. We ordered Mama Mia, Beetroot tartare, Chili rice, Green gate salad and Sweet potato on stick. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The taste was just perfect. For drinks we had homemade lemonade and Sendai sunset. Both were just amazing! Really enjoyed the food and experience. Would definitely visit again."

"Recommended to come here and eat before attending a concert. Found a table and sat down and after 10mins a waitress came and took our order which was our starters and mains. Starter arrived in good time we had the fireman's sharing board which was really nice and big enough for four people to share and our 2 for 1 cocktails also arrived in good time and were nice. Then after that it went downhill we waited over an hour after we had finished our starter for our mains I asked a waitress to see where our meals were when clearly we knew we had been forgotten about she never came back with an answer so with my patience wearing thin I asked a gentleman with a clip board who was directing people to tables . He said he would look into it and came over after about 5 mins to apologise it was their mistake and our order had been missed and offered us a free drink. My friend and I asked for a vodka and lemonade and another a Disarano and coke and a bottle of water which arrived within 6 minutes. Our vodka and lemonades had never seen vodka you couldn't taste it at all but my friend said he could taste his Disarano. We waited another 10 minutes and our mains arrived three of us had posh finger sandwiches and the other had a steak sandwich which she left as it was dripping in fat and the roll was barely baked. Our posh fish finger sandwiches were also dripping in fat with no taste we asked for extra tartar sauce to be told by a different waitress that its in the sandwich so in other words your not getting anymore. There was barely any in. We all ate them as we were hungry but they were poor. We asked for the bill and paid and went elsewhere for a cuppa. We know it was busy with being a pink concert on at the stadium of light I personally don't think there was enough staff on to cope with the volume of people so our first visit put us off from ever returning."
