"A very nice restaurant with a few different vegan options. We tried the tempeh burgers which came with fries and onion rings. Our children had the tomato pasta. Unfortunately the kids pasta cake minus a garlic bread which was offered with the non-vegan option. Tasty food though and very good, friendly service. Nice place!"

"I booked in advance to get a good table and still think that this is the best Mexican food in Brighton but the service was SO bad this time. We won’t be going back. We arrived and our table wasn’t ready we had to ask to sit somewhere else to wait and the staff member was clearly unhappy with that We ordered drinks and food and even though our table had cleared were told to stay put squashed uncomfortably on a four person table with a buggy rammed in beside us. I’d understand if we were walk ins. The staff member -I think the owner- was very stressed and busy but made no effort to apologise or acknowledge his gruffness. We all felt uncomfortable with his attitude and it ruined the dining experience. Shame, it was our favourite restaurant."

"I’ve been to this establishment twice now. I am new to the area and decided to search for a local Thai near me, I stumbled across The King Thai and I am glad with the decision I made. The service was very good, and the restaurant was immaculately clean. There is a good choice of local drinks on the menu as well as good food options not a huge amount on the menu however to my mind this is a good sign that everything is cooked fresh I must also add they do not cook with any MSG or preservatives. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wether you are looking for a quick lunch or an evening meal. Will definitely be a regular customer here now. "My friends and I came to the crown for a drink, we ordered our 3 drinks with the waitress and waited for them to arrive. After waiting 45 minutes we went to the bar and politely asked if they would be coming out soon to...which we were told we already had the drinks. After letting them know we didn’t the bar staff confirmed our table number and said they’d be right out, the wrong drinks came out so we confirmed the drinks we ordered, the gentleman went back inside and came out again and said ‘you ordered these drinks so you have to pay for them’ we reminded him of the drinks we ordered and asked if they could come out and we’d pay for them, he said ‘you’ll need to pay for all 6 drinks’ even though we didn’t order 3 of them. We went inside to the lady behind the bar and confirmed the drinks we wanted again and that we would only be paying for the 3 we ordered, as we turned around the land lady muttered f off under the breath. We asked her if that was what she said and she said ‘ p off we never asked you to pay for the drinks you didn’t order, it’s 3 against 1 you can’t prove that’ she continued to swear at us. I am utterly shocked that we would be treated like this by the land lady of the pub, they are utterly unprofessional and rude to customers. I will never go back"

"what a great little supplement to the greenwich food scene. Actually, it is not so little, but it is really great, especially considering how central it is to the tourist scene in greenwich. it's expensive, don't get me wrong. if they are planning to come here, they make it for a Friday night, for a party, for a start. Do not do what we have done, what appeared on a Monday night, just because we happen to have no food in the refrigerator, the kind of feeling just do not do it just justice. the place has a funky and hip feel about it. also the menus look cool and stylish. they have a great drink choice also for the non-drinker among us and know that I had a naughty week of eating ahead, I went for the healthy and durst quenching gurken juice. the menu is a bit overwhelming when they first visit, although they come with some helpful set menus when they are stuck to choose. we only need to order our menus for almost 20 minutes indecisively on what to eat. there re the sushi options and then there are the sticks. Each stick costs a lot for the size, but they have a large number of choices. I had a teriyaki lachsstock and delicious scallops in a crispy. the spicy edamame and absolutely divine cauliflower with black truffle sauce delivered our sweet for the evening and I could fortunately have eaten nothing except this cauliflower all night here. my man then chose one of the salads for a little more filling with huh and duck while I chose the nebel cod rolls. pleasantly full, we should have stopped there, but we were too tempted to order as desserts, in smll bites and as many or as few as they would like to order. we went for the black sesameis, a delicious chocolate fondant and 2 small chocolates including one covered with sesame seeds. if they 're feeling vey indulgent, they even order a box with all desserts included, but we'll have to save this for another time. this would be a great restaurant for a birthday, for a fun night with friends or for a little occasion. it is a little expensive in comparison to some of the neighboring sushi restaurants that are also very much to wish but it has a bit more novelty. if after a quick fix for a sushi gift or a light mid-week meal, these other decisions could be better suited, but for something special and unique, this is definitely worth a try and a very welcome supplement to greenwich."

"If you're a follower of my posts, you know I'm not afraid to travel for a good meal London is my menu and I fully intended to taste everything on it but as the saying goes, there's no place like home and the comforts of your favourite local. We all have one; a favourite cafe, restaurant or more commonly, a pub. My happy place is The Dolphin located at the foot of Sydenham high street a real find in an area which is in the midst of a gentrification takeover. It basically has everything a boy could ask for; a good selection of beers (bottled and on tap , wine and also some pretty top notch food. In the winter, it's warm and welcoming providing some much needed relief from the bitter cold but a switch in the season affords you the opportunity to enjoy its sizeable beer garden which is one of the best I’ve seen in my 6 years of pub crawling (and I have done a lot of crawling... . Were this pub located more centrally to the City, I've no doubt it'd get much more attention but as it is, I will happily let this little gem of the south be and just sit back in bliss and enjoy watching time pass me by. Also follow me on Twitter @annixontong and @wetrykai and on Instagram @annixontong."

"update april 2022 since my first review already often. Her hearty Vietnamese dishes are great, I had some of the tofus. they also enjoy more puddings, including various fruit crumbs/bakers, the Empire Biscuit, and today an amazing skyberry and coconut tea on a short bread basis, with vegan ice. yum. original review first time in pumpernickel, as I heard it had gone completely vegetarian and vegan. they have kept their usual menu, but all the options are vegetarian/vegan (zb veggie ham, bacon' etc.) one of the owners is vietnamesian and so we have tried these hot rolls, and two different tofuss all fabulous! they came with roasted rice and salate and dipping sauce. it was obviously busy, we went around 2 o'clock and only a few tables were left, but then it was still. the board had the specials on, all sound great and are good. only two suggestions label, the dishes are vegan or vegan (i.e. some of the noodles are not suitable), and maybe have a few vegan cakes. (they had a big cake ad, but currently not vegan we are going back. the update was returned at the beginning of October 2021. tried the crepes (nice! hearty minze' and bohnenprouts inside) and friend had the Thai veg burger, also good. Apple crumbcake. friend had taken along before and had vegan skyberry cake. was busy fri 12-2, but other days in the week are quieter. updated by previous review on 2022-04-30"

"Have previously dined at the Hinds Head which was impeccable from arrival to the end, staff were wonderful and knowledgeable and food was divine. The Crown sadly does not have the same standards. On arrival table was not ready which was fine, waited at the bar and then seated. Staff weren’t overly attentive, very chatty amongst themselves behind the bar. After being seated the service was very slow, we felt like we had been forgotten. It took 30 minutes to take the drinks order after my husband had to prompt staff. We ordered our food whilst the staff were at the table. Bread and whipped butter was delicious, fish cakes very average, heavy on potato lacked seasoning, aioli accompaniment was excellent. Beef blade main, meat was well cooked, fell apart, carrots too al dente, dumpling was raw and just lacked dept of flavour, the whole dish was under seasoned and arrived almost cold. My husband enjoyed his barvette beef and roast potatoes though we had to ask for the garlic butter which was forgotten. Dessert sticky toffee pudding overly sickly sweet and vanilla ice cream grainy and lacking flavour. My husband ice cream trio had the same issues of grainy texture and lacking flavour . Both desserts were inedible , a cartmel sticky toffee pudding and laverstock farm ice cream would have been a better substitute. Throughout dinner, the staff were less than attentive, lacking knowledge and busier chatting between themselves. Do not be fooled by the allure of Heston, he’s obviously too busy to be consider the standards of his no starred pubs! Sell it to someone local with a desire for it to do well!"

"We went for a ‘special occasion’ at the start of March. There appears to be two evening sittings 6pm and 8pm … and even this early in the season the 6pm sitting was really busy .. So book early !! The service was great very attentive and not pushing at all. They do not provide drinks with the service but guess what ? You can take your own and they will see be you with glasses and ice at no charge! The food was marvellous and we had ours on a hot platter and cooked the meat ourselves Overall a very pleasant evening thank you !"

"I don’t like to leave bad reviews but tbh I’ve never been to places like this, where waitress just came to the table and ask if she could remove the plate. It is true that I just finished my dish, but it’s merely after 1 minute that I put down my chopsticks. At least let customers sit for a bit to let food digest? I know the restaurant is busy, but this is not a fast food place. It is a RESTAURANT. To be polite I didn’t ask to take out the service charge. But will never come again or recommend to my friend. Food actually tastes not bad. Especially crispy imperial roll. Thank you chef."

"Within stones throw from the Hilton, we were surprised to be able to get a table without reservation Decor is snazzy from the outside and is matched from the inside Plenty of seating without making you feel crowded Staff were friendly and efficient An impressive line up of both well known and familiar Thai dishes, as well as those you wouldn’t typically expect a good variety on the menu to choose from Starter selections were the chicken satay, salt and pepper squid and tom yum soup The satay was spot on, chicken just a tad bit dry Squid was too chewy for my preference And the soup could’ve done with being a ton more spicier preferably clear base too Pad Thai was the selected mains for all with King Prawns and Pork Belly as the option All went down well Could’ve done with having the traditional strong chilli oil on the side tho Not sure if Leeds locals are a tad soft on being able to handle their heat "

"I wish that I could give it a 0; unbelievable how my husband and I were treated yesterday. We went to the restaurant for dinner. We drove from Kent, and I wanted to introduce him to your establishment which was empty. The waiter printed the page with the qr code and placed it on the table. My husband asked if we could have a regular menu, and he replied no. He said that the standard menu is a past thing and will no longer be available for environmental reasons of saving paper. We believe this a double standard as paper was used to print the code, which is then presumably disposed of, as opposed to a (laminated? sheet that only needs be changed with the menu. My husband joked that I had suggested leaving because of the reluctance to have a proper menu and the waiter asked us to do so. 2 specific aspects I would like to point out, 1 my husband has a degree in environment pollution and is quite obsessive about general recycling and waste reduction. He was also lost for words for about an hour about how we were treated. What would have been the response to someone who doesn’t carry a mobile device, yes they do exist and they are not the only sector of the population you are currently alienating."

"We decided to opt for a starter from the daily specials – grilled chicken wings with burnt soy and leeks £8.20). If you’re a chicken wing lover then you’ll love this dish! The skin was nice and crispy, yet the chicken wing meat was juicy and tender. The burnt soy tasted similar to teriyaki – so a bit of a sticky soy sauce with a subtle sweetness. Saba Udon smoked mackerel with green leaves – £10.70). The smokey, salty mackerel paired up with thick silky udon noodles was amazing. The mackerel had also been slightly grilled, so it was crispy on the outside but still moist inside. It was also refreshing to have a simple clear broth. Buta Miso pork and miso – £9.90)....read more"

"Located just steps from the Globe Theater, this restaurant offers a variety of vegan options to choose from. I started with the Vegan Arancini, which had a light flavor of peas, mint, and rice. The dipping sauce was tasty, although I wish they had provided more of it. For my main dish, I opted for the Vegan vegetable pizza, which turned out to be the best vegan pizza I've ever had. The thin, light, and chewy crust paired well with the flavorful toppings. Although I didn't have room for dessert, they had three vegan options including a chocolate and crumble-based treat, sorbet, and a small portion of carrot cake. Overall, a great dining experience with excellent vegan choices."

"We went to Civerinos last week to tuck into a slice of Italy and to have a chat with Michele the owner on why this Italian has been getting rave reviews all over the internet and is hit with the locals. Civerino’s is located just off the Royal Mile near the Tron Kirk in Hunter Square and serves a fanatastic selection of family recipes handed down through Michele’s family, Italian street food and of course Pizza by the slice or whole. In contrast to the overpriced restaurants offering, as a general rule, fairly low quality food, Civerinos is the real deal and very competitively priced. The beautiful glass door way opens into a minimalist style canteen with long tables and an open kitchen where the smell of food drifts tantalizingly from. The staff are super welcoming giving a real easy going family feel to the place. The owner Michele is often sat at the bar and came to talk to us about his plans for the restaurant and the upcoming Festival season. It is easy to see why the food at Civerino’s is so good when you meet Michele. His enthusiasm and passion for Italian food and the business is inspiring and infectious! He is so excited by the fresh produce, especially after a recent trip with the kitchen team to source new products and try out new ideas resulting in some fabulous new gorgonzola croquettes, Italian salamis and porcini mushroom sauce to mention a few of the tasty new treats. He certainly loves his food and takes pride in his family’s heritage. Civerino’s is an expression of this passion great food from the heart; timeless, classic recipes using exceptional fresh ingredients that would last forever. A long term Edinburgh resident and foodie Michele loves eating at many of the local establishments and is very complementary about many of his neighbours including fellow street food success Ting Thai Caravan where he loves to go for his dinner and Ninja buns, who are now providing the food at Paradise Palms. With the restaurant’s first festival season approaching fast they are keen to ensure they still manage to save some space for their regular followers and will be saving a table at the back just for those who have booked before, they will also be open late so you can head over after your shift too. Seating outside should help them to catch the eye of the passing traffic as will their new Gelato bike set to appear very soon! On to the food – having tried the fabulous pizzas on a different occasion we decided to embark on trying out the rest of the menu. Mix and match home made pasta varieties and sauces featuring pig cheek carbonara and slow cooked beef ragu are sure to be a crowd pleaser and there are some really exciting antipasti dishes if you can draw your gaze away from the pizza menu that is. We decided on the parsley and chilli calamari, beef meatballs in mushroom sugo, Steak tagliata with wild rocket salad and Zuccini fritti. The food is served on sharing style boards with individual paper plates, so you can get stuck in and help your self in unpretentious communal dining style. We were very impressed with all our dishes, light crispy battered zucchini was really tasty, well cooked steak with roast tomatoes and rocket was the stuff of dreams believe me, and of course crispy calamari with aioli was just about perfect, but the rich tasty porcini sauce with the meatballs was a stand out winner at our table. We were dipping everything in it! The wine and beers are all really well priced and they have a frozen cocktail too! Featuring popular Italian favorites including Negroni and Aperol Spritz. Desserts are also pretty awesome we were recommended to try the Tiramisu but didn’t have space after our feast so it will have to be saved for our next visit. I am so pleased to have discovered this exciting gem of a restaurant right in the centre of all the festival action and cant wait to go back for more. Especially for their late night pizza and great music on until the early hours throughout the summer of Edinburgh’s festivals, and the terrace set in Hunter Square where you can sit and watch the crazy world of the Royal Mile go by!"

"Absolutely brilliant restaurant in the middle of Blackpool. I was part of a group of play workers looking after children with additional needs. The staff were both friendly and enormously accommodating. Today I had a Caesar salad. The salad portion was huge, crispy and fresh! The chicken was warm and juicy! Thoroughly delicious in every way. Thank you! Special mention to Georgia, who organised all of the food and drinks smoothly and in ultra fast time! Highly recommended!"

"Mudmee 's customer service is in the MUD. Things started out fine, our waiter was a lovely young man. When our mains came, my wife found a hair in her rice. We told the waiter who told his boss about this. She began to speak in Taiwanese or some other language with another colleague all the way looking and picking through the food to find the hair that we had found she removed it and said there was no hair. After denying that there was a hair in our food, and even saying that we mistook the hair for a chilli flake , I told her that we wouldn 't bring this up if there was no issue. She again denied that there was a hair in our food and walked away. No resolution, no apology for inconvenience, nothing. Very disappointing. We paid for the food and swiftly left. Oh, and the toilets are disgusting, I dread to think about the state of the kitchen."

"Came for a twilight Spa on a Tuesday night. We were initially booked for March but due to lockdown we had postpone it. We had a 2 course meal in the ozone restaurant included in this. We were booked in for 6pm but arrived to the restaurant early which wasn't a problem. We got seated quickly and had our order taken fairly quickly too as it was extremely quiet in the restaurant. We had an option of either starter and main or main and dessert, we both went for the dessert option. Food arrived quickly and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The portions for the mains were huge which is always a bonus!! I had the beef pad Thai followed by the cherry bakewell cheesecake. My mam for the chicken terriaki stir fry with rice and the sticky Toffee pudding. Although it was lovely, we would only come again if it was included in a spa day as we both thought the prices were extremely expensive if you were going for the meal alone."

"Disappointing return to this excellent pub for a Sunday roast based on good previous experiences. Waited almost 75 minutes for a roast dinner on a Sunday and when it arrived the meal was extremely salty. Two choices of roast :beef or lamb and apparently it never changes. Tip for them, introduce pork or chicken as well and let the customers know when they arrive. there that there is going to be a long delay . When you’re hungry, it’s far too long. Also the lamb was shredded in some sort of some sort of piquant sauce swamping the flavour of the meat when we were expecting some nice slices of tender lamb. Brought my daughter and partner for the first time and although the staff dealt with the complaint courteously and discounted the bill we left feeling very underwhelmed."
