"Extremely shocked by the rudness and unprofessionalism of staff at this resteraunt. We called in at 10.50 after attending a funeral with my mother who was already very upset. The door was wide open with nobody in the bar apart from two managers having a meeting who totally blanked us. We went upstairs to be greeted by a what do you want from a staff member. We replied just coffee to which we got breakfast finished a 10.30 and we are closed till 11.30 Basically get out you are not welcome. We left in shock. What a way to speak to paying customers! I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. The staff upset my geiving mother greatly with their rude, ignorant, unwelcoming manner. Disgusting."

"We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was delightful, and the young man who greeted us and escorted us to our reserved table was exceptionally attentive and polite. "The service at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The waiter was rude and did not greet us with a smile throughout the rushed meal. We were not informed that our table was only available for a limited time when we made the reservation. We were pressured to place our order multiple times within just five minutes of being seated. The chicken dish I ordered with lemon and herb flavor was covered in a strange gelatinous sauce that was clearly not cooked properly. The gravy had no flavor at all. The waiter rushed us through our meal and seemed annoyed when we asked for dessert and a cup of tea. He informed us, for the first time, that the table was needed in fifteen minutes. After paying over £40, we were not even thanked or offered a smile as we left. We have dined here a few times before, but will not be returning due to the rude and rushed service, low quality food, and high prices. There are much better dining options available that we will be trying instead."

"I was recommended this pub by the bed and breakfast where I'm staying. It's a lovely, cozy spot with a great atmosphere. The food was delightful, and the manager was a wonderfully hospitable fellow. I have gluten intolerance, but I was pleased to find a tasty gluten-free meal without having to wait long for it to arrive. The price per person is between £10 and £20. Overall, I give it a 5 for food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the Hunter's Chicken and the Signature Fish and Chips!"

"Awful ..no personal service ..slow Luke warm food I suspect had been left on the pass as I felt we were neither liked or wanted there as we had arrived early and been given an awful reception from I assume the landlady ...we waited almost one hour for our meals. No one came to our table after food served, to check all was ok ..no one thanked us as we left ...no apology for the long wait other than to look for reasons and excuses for a large party arriving first although Thier meals had all been pre ordered so should of made it much easier for the kitchen as they would of known how many and what they had ordered . My background is hospitality , food prep , restaurant management along with both frount and back of house and quite frankly I was very disappointed . I would Never go there again . You were so unpleasant to us ...shame on you !!!"

"We booked a table for 4 people (at 1pm) for Thursday 29th December. I have to admit, apart from the fish on the plates, (chips weren’t good) it must have been our worst experience at The Thorn Tree. I don’t know if you have a new owner/manager or staff but none of the “happy staff” that we have been used to we’re working yesterday. There was one young man that from what we could see, was only just managing to cope. He was literally running the bar/orders/seeting and serving single handed. This guy was doing great, to say that he had no help on the outside of the kitchen. The chips were certainly the worst we have ever been served. Lots of tiny pointed chips and quite a few chips were green fleshed. We would usually have stayed for desserts but the whole restaurant was “uncomfortably cold”. We understand that heating and energy prices have increased dramatically but myself and many others, are not prepared to pay good money, to sit and eat/drink in an uncomfortably cold restaurant. I would have certainly left this review on TripAdvisor but I have been told in the past “our TripAdvisor account has been compromised by a former employee”. So I’m not sure that there is much point, apart from sharing my opinions with others. In the past, I have always recommended and highly rated The Thorn Tree but no more"

"Perhaps we were unlucky but we had to wait two hours between sitting down for lunch and getting our main course. Pretty much every order (food, drinks, desert) had something missing that we had to chase and wait for. We had to go to the bar and collect our own drinks having seen them poured (eventually) and then sat on the bar for too long. Food good and service friendly we got a discount on the bill but not sure it’s enough to make me return."

"Terrible experience here. Arrived at 6.50pm with no reservation and was told no table till 9pm. Asked to sit in the bar to eat instead but told they weren 't taking orders till 7.30pm to catch up . Sat down and observed other people ordering with no issues which we then did. Table was sticky so asked for it to be cleaned I was handed a bottle of cleaner and blue roll to do it myself. The staff are miserable and got the order wrong. After ordering the curry, a manager came to the table to tell me they had no rice so had to have chips instead. After explaining the issues I had already experienced there was no empathy. A truly tragic experience."

"Really solid. Burgers were great, loads of vegetarian options too. Would fully recommend booking in advance if you want to eat in as it's a tiny little place but agree with a lot of the other reviews, food was excellent, staff were friendly. Quite expensive for a burger I'd say but no complaints about the food. Be aware it's not toddler friendly in the sense that there no room for prams or high chairs, but they're happy to have you all the same and do have kids options, although they're honestly not much smaller than the adult portions really."

"Decided to here after a show at Hall For Cornwall to make it easier rather than cook when at home. Haven't been here in quite awhile. The staff very friendly not very busy which I can understand after we had the meals. The place lacked any atmosphere no music on except when they opened the kitchen door and I think the chef liked loud music. Food was average. my fries well think all he did was dipped them in the fat enough to get them hot, way not done enough. My ribs where done nicely although there excuse for a salad was a bit of green and couple pieces of sweetcorn. My son said afterwards it was lacking ingredients. My wife didn't think the lasagne she had was not up to the standard of there higher end eateries. Very expensive considering it was only a pub and one of the lower end of Whitbread chain. I doubt we will go back."

"Found this place by accident, was busy with people outside sat enjoying the sunshine so thought I must come back. Visited on a sunny evening, only bought a few drinks. Staff very polite and friendly as we're other customers. Sat out in the beer garden to enjoy the evening sun before leaving. Would recommend for a nice little country hideaway within commuting distance to Lincoln and the M180. Git eyes on some of the food served to others too, loomed amazing, we will return."

"We went for a birthday Sunday lunch, it took over 50 minutes for our drinks to come to which we was told the drinks will be took off the bill due to having to order them more than once for them to arrive. The young servers are petrified of staff and constantly apologising profusely and shaking while cleaning tables, when we first arrived we even saw one that looked to be crying not the nicest experience. They kept coming and asking if everything was okay multiple times where it became beyond a joke. While waiting for our food we got approached approx 4 times asking 'is there anything else I can get you? ' bit of an awkward time to ask this while we are waiting for our dinner we don 't want anything else, we would like our dinner. Our food finally came after a long wait too except for one meal, we kept chasing up when this burger was going to come out. They told us many times 'it is just being plated up now '. We had all finished our dinners and it still had not arrived! We told the staff not to bother with the burger as the gentleman had gone off the idea of having this as the idea of eating your meal on your own is not nice. We asked for a white wine, they brought out a red. While we was eating our dinner we was approached approx 6 times asking if our food was okay it got a bit silly. There was just never ending problems. We had to ask multiple times for sauces and when they finally brought sauces out they missed the ones we actually asked for. When we paid the bill they didn 't take off our drinks as promised, but they did give us discount on the food. The table next to us had been waiting for their desserts for almost an hour. The whole experience was the strangest. If you want to be served by petrified servers that don 't seem to have been trained properly this is the place for you."

"I called this morning to reserve a last-minute table for lunch as a (very) belated Mother's Day gift. The restaurant accommodated me right away, and I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff. We were treated to appetizers and dessert, and we left completely stuffed! The food was not only delicious but also came in generous portion sizes. I believe this is the fastest service I have ever experienced! Our meals arrived almost immediately after we ordered. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but it was definitely worth every penny!"

"We decided to come to The Waterbridge to celebrate a 40th birthday, a 72nd birthday and a wedding anniversary as a party of 14. Even with us running late, due to traffic, the service and team was spectacular. Food was delicious, service was quick and efficient and all staff were very friendly. The added touch of flowers for the occasions was lovely. Our server, Hannah, was fantastic, friendly and helpful and made our Sunday dinner wonderful. Would highly recommend.
