"A lovely warm welcome as we arrived. The place was well managed for the current situation and felt comfortable and safe. We were served quickly and I had messaged in advance to see if they could cater for my dietary requirements, as I'm unable to eat gluten or dairy. The manager spoke to me at my table to advise what was suitable for me. Beautiful food, freshly cooked and well presented. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Food served Wednesday to Sunday, and I will definitely be back. Also easy access for wheelchairs etc."

Food is amazing here. Something for everyone. Never disappointed. Atmosphere is lacking but that's my only gripe. Doesn't affect the food though!

Went for a carvery today. Staff were all very friendly, the food was lovely, tasted like proper home cooked food. The apple crumble and custard was devine. Then sat outside in the beer garden. Great area for kids and adults. Lovely place, recommended. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

£18.95 for a mixed grill that comes with a chip shop sausage? Nope. The steak was overdone and the chicken dry. The only really good thing about the mixed grill was the chips. However, the vegetarian lasagne was very nice and loaded with garlic bread. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Last minute decision to go for a carvery at the Bucks Head. Didn't book, arrived at 1pm and we were easily seated at a table for two. Ordered 2 medium carveries with beef and pork. Plenty on the plates, just right for us, we cleared our plates not a morsel left. Finished with Apple crumble and custard. We thought the meal was excellent value.

Advertised as a 'carvery ' we expected to help ourselves, but no you have what you are given. The portions are adequate with a choice of meats but no turkey which is my favourite. The service was a bit slow, but not too bad. There were 6 of us in the party but only 4 knives and forks in a dish on the table and no serviettes. We had to ask for more cutlery. Not a place I would visit again or recommend.. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
