Excellent, prompt service at the bar. Food too was excellent and good value for money. Manager cleared our table and took time to speak to us. Made us feel welcomed and valued.

Booked a table for 7.00pm and ordered a selection of starters and then 2 desserts. Staff were all polite and professional. The food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious! The prawns and the crownie were stunning! Thank you.

Good food. Always busy and worth booking. We went in as visitors to the area. We were advised that we could have up to a 45 min wait. We accepted this . We were then shown to a table within 20 mins Being coeliac, the staff were helpful in providing appropriate meals too. All in all, a friendly pub with good pub food type meals

we had a great time at breakfast with santa! the food was delicious and punctual and the staff was really warm and welcoming. the manager was super friendly and helpful. she went beyond and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. we will definitely come back! Many thanks for an unforgettable and beautiful morning our children loved!

superb! tonight for Sunday evening dinner and everything was perfect. best Sunday roast I've ever had, and much better than any carvery. had good vegetarian options for some members of our party. very friendly, attentive and friendly staff, everything came in good time, excellent prices. can't blame anything, one of the best pubs around. breathe fresh air! 10/10

Very good quality food served very quickly by friendly helpful staff. The only fly in the ointment was being given large red wines when we clearly asked for small and medium. We felt slightly duped in the paying for these, as no one would send them back, would they. I know restaurants try to push the sales of alcohol up when selling food, but please don’t do this as it doesn’t go unnoticed. Thanks

I think the star is wonderful! I sing absolutely his praise for each of the wheelchair / negligence elevator from the parking lot down into the pub itself is far and away the most thoughtful and useful what I have seen local pubs do in years! nothing is too much annoying for the friendly and efficient staff. eating is beautiful and always fresh. the prices are very reasonable and I always feel very welcome.

usual excellent farewell at star. we went for the common Sunday dinner, which with a good part of the three meats together with all the foods came well cooked and the rew james gravy on top. it was just not quite right that we ordered a pint of rew james shandy, but a pint of rew james bert arrived. when this was pointed out, it was set right immediately. server are all attentive and friendly, so no complaining of us

My previous reviews of the Star have been very positive so it's with much regret that this review is not so positive. We have been visiting the Star for some months now and previously never disappointed. Unfortunately last Sunday 19th Nov we were very disappointed with our lunch.The carrots and swede were lacking in flavour and there was very little cheese on the cauliflower.The gravy was very salty and the roast potatoes were not freshly cooked and hard to cut with the knife.The Yorkshire pudding was flat like a pancake and again no flavour.Also there was no cabbage which we had on previous occasions,instead we had red cabbage which is a strange one for us as we've never had that on a sunda...
