"Visit from April 2022... We revisited this branch as we had a gift card, the waiter remembered us from last time when we mentioned about our allergies. The waiter was really nice but I felt sorry for him as everyone was asking him to take their orders and he was the only staff member present on the floor. The food was very enjoyable, we ordered 2 Chicken Quasadilla, 2 Mushroom Quasadillas, 2 Sweet Potato portions and Califlower Wings. We were able to ask for our mayo to be out of our meals and on the sides instead which was great as we could are it as we wished. It took a long long time to ask for a dessert afterwards, we had to keep trying to get the attention of someone to serve us which took around 20-30 minutes. At the end we were trying to scan the QR code (like my previous review below the QR code does not work! We tried on three different devices and over three different tables QR! The receipt shows a surcharge which you can ask for it to be taken off, it would be great for the QR code to work as then you feel like you can take it off if you felt like it wasn't an enjoyable experience, we took the gift card to the till and it took around 30 minutes to sort out! Ridiculous. The staff member was apologetic but it caused us to miss out train, it should be much easier to use a gift card. Think that's the last time we will visit here as the ending has become too stressful. Visit from Feb 2022 ... First time visiting a Wahaca Branch. Staff were very friendly and they asked regarding allergies which is very important. Lots of Vegetarian options which is brilliant, we ordered the Mushroom Club, Chicken Club, Patatas Bravas and a Halloumi and Pineapple Taco which was free. The Freebie was very very cold, it felt like because it was free they didn't care how it was presented? The Patatas Bravas were luke warm. The rest of the food was really nice especially the Mushroom Club which I would have again. We were going to order two lots of Patatas Bravas but we're adviced just to buy one because of the size.... We wish we had bought two lots as there wasn't enough to share one portion. Ordered through person but had to pay through QR code which didn't work, so waiter had to do it on their phone which made us feel uncomfortable and stupid... Personally either order through an app and pay at the time or just order through a person and pay through a person, don't do a mixture. Restaurant was clean and toilets were nice and clean which I always check. Knocked a star off for the cold/Luke warm portions of our meal and also the QR system not working correctly (Side Note: I have paid via QR codes before so know how they work so I am experienced with them so think many people will struggle to pay like this."

"We rarely review eateries, however felt compelled to share our recent experience at this bar/restaurant. Initial impression was good. When we arrived the representative was warm and friendly, showing us to our table. We had a drink while waiting for our friends, during which one member of staff was having a horrific coughing fit, obviously suffering some sort of infection. Another girl at the bar was also coughing loudly. We were then handed ‘menus’ by the same girl who had been coughing uncontrollably. All of the menus were crumpled and filthy/stained. This wasn’t a great start to the evening, given that there are obviously no standards of hygiene being adhered to. Surely the way forward would be to print off a new menu for each customer? That gives the right impression. Even pre-COVID, I would expect a laminated menu that could be wiped down before handing to each customer or a new A4 printed menu for every customer. No one could complain about this and it would cost next to nothing. When the food was dished up, I was told that my chicken had been dropped on the floor and would be a little late. A few minutes later my dish appeared, looking a bit messy and like it had been thrown into the bowl hurriedly. The chicken was tough and vegetables tasteless. Given the disgusting menus, I was worried the whole time that chicken had been scraped off the floor and then presented to me. Needless to say, I didn’t enjoy the meal. Both my partner and I felt rough on the way home and had a dodgy stomach the following day. Surely, if staff are unwell and have a bad cough they should either stay at home or wear a mask to protect others? This is the guidance, but no one seemed to care that the staff were standing at the tables, coughing over the customers and it was very uncomfortable! We were looking forward to our evening, but it seems that a few young members of staff were allowed to do their own thing and no one person seemed to oversee the running of the bar/restaurant. If visiting this establishment, remember to bring your own sanitiser! We won’t be back."

"Street Feast's Dalston Yard incarnation is back for a fourth glorious year, this time boasting 17 traders and 13 bars and promoting itself as the International Capital of street food. A visit to this spacious outdoor market will offer visitors the opportunity to gorge on Mexican fish tacos, Venezuelan arepas and Taiwanese gua bao- all congregated in one place. Bars offer craft beer and cocktails as standard, but some specialise in wine, award-winning whiskeys or gin. Frontier is heavily peddled at the large bars, but there is a smaller, well-stocked craft beer kiosk replete with examples from local breweries including Beavertown and Fourpure. Camden Town Brewery is also represented, pouring their brews in the Camden Town Pump Station. Whether afternoon or evening, the atmosphere at Dalston Yard is electric- people are always jostling around for delicious food and most vendors will require queuing, especially at busy times, where the call of Smokestak has previously warranted a 40 minute wait for their extolled ribs. Seating is communal- think minimal wooden tables and benches- and there are scattered ledges for those predisposed to leaning. Most revellers barely travel a few feet from the venders, unable to contain themselves and immediately tucking into their prize. This is a street market, so expect dribbling juices, sticky fingers and gooey cheese messes. Leave your table manners at the gate. All of the vendors are seriously top-notch behemoths on the street food scene and we were able to sample this year's selection- nothing disappointed, but I can vouch for Yum Bum's pork belly steamed buns: little pillows of chewy delight that are stuffed with shredded succulent pork, dosed in sticky hoisin sauce and topped with crispy cucumber slices and zingy pickled cabbage. These are dangerously addictive, so never opt for a single helping because, frankly, you'll find yourself back in the queue before you've finished your lone bun. Another unmissable event is Breddo's tacos, which are heavily represented on foodie Instagram feeds with good reason: they are simply wonderful. I tried the fried chicken- a moist piece of poultry that was battered in a crispy golden shell and served with creamy chipotle mayo- and the Baja fish- which were lightly fried but fell apart in the mouth, topped with freshly chopped jalapeno, coriander leaves, radish slices, a lime wedge and wrapped in a black corn tortilla. If you have a hankering for something sweet, eking out Bad Brownie is worth your while. Offering brownie bowls and the now infamous Freakshake- you can spend £9 for the most indulgent treat that is a milkshake and brownie hybrid, packed with hunks of brownie and whipped cream and chopped nuts spilling out of a mason jar- it's a gloriously beautiful specimen of indulgence. The only question is: spoon or straw? You'll want to visit Dalston Yard for the chilled Dalston vibes, good music and exemplary food. On a sunny day, this is a literal urban oasis, but make sure you eat early and often to sample everything on offer. It's not exactly cheap, so choose wisely, but I haven't been let down yet. Drop in mid-afternoon and you can wander around for free, but to access the serious night vibes, you will have to pay £3 on the door after 7pm. Now if only the weather would cooperate, I know where you can find me throughout the summer."
