Despite a journey of over 1 hour from me, I have taken over the epic challenge to reach hilltop roti in west ealing. and for the happiness for me it was not only worth the trip, it meant my weekend started with a fantastic Friday! from the minute I went, I was warmly welcomed and felt at home as if I had fallen in the family. although on the menu no double with pholourie were available, it was the perfect starter for me. it was worth waiting as it was cooked, this version with extra spice in the tamarindensoße was really exceptional and full of taste. my ginger squash to wash it was the perfect companion. as I enjoyed the very generous portion size, I was little to know that it would affect my ability to manage my ital roti. while at some places in the life size 'may' not important when it comes to the art form of eating redi, especially after having a generous part of pholourie, size does surely important! especially if they factor in the E-P-I-C size of the redis at hilltop! so my ital roti was introduced and to say that it packed a stamp would be an understatement. callaloo, channa, pumpkin and kartoffeln are the usual ingredients, but president elect asked to garnelen (as she ran out of channa. So my ital became a tailor-made product worthy of every president!
