"This is a special pub, really special. I've been here a few times over the past few years, but having now moved to the area it's become a local and regular one we visit. The food is fantastic freshly cooked, well presented, massive portions and well priced. The service is also top notch; every is incredibly attentive and friendly. Great selections of drinks as well. Oh and the puddings are mind blowing. Especially the banoffee pie. Price per person: £30–40"

"My husband had a haggis and chilli jam toasty which he said was reasonably tasty. I had a Brie, bacon and cranberry one which was greasy and tasteless. The accompanying crisps weren’t crisp at all. My 2 year old granddaughter rejected her cheese sandwich which was unusual and when we tasted it discovered it was tasteless. The coffee was nice and there were toys for the little one to play with whilst waiting for our lunch."

"Rating: I had the pleasure of visiting Dexter Burguer a few months ago, and I must say, it left a positive impression on me. Situated in a cozy pub/restaurant setting, Dexter Burguer offers a delightful dining experience that combines great food with a pleasant atmosphere. Upon arrival, my companions and I were immediately drawn to the outdoor seating area, where we were seated in a charming little pod. The clever addition of heaters ensured our comfort even on colder days, making it a delightful spot to enjoy a meal. The thoughtful attention to detail in creating a comfortable outdoor space impressed me. As for the menu, we opted for the classic choice of burgers and chips, limiting our exploration of the extensive offerings. Nonetheless, I can confidently say that the burger I had was delicious. The patty was well-cooked and flavorful, and the toppings complemented it perfectly. It was evident that Dexter Burguer takes pride in using quality ingredients to craft their burgers. The only minor disappointment came from the chips, which were slightly oversalted for my taste. However, it didn't overshadow the overall positive experience, and it's worth noting that taste preferences can vary from person to person. What stood out beyond the food was the inviting atmosphere. Dexter Burguer strikes a balance between a laid-back pub and a comfortable restaurant. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy good company. The well-prepared outdoor space showcased the restaurant's commitment to providing a pleasant experience, even during colder days. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring our needs were met throughout the evening. Their professionalism and hospitality added to the overall positive impression I had of the place."

"Have been here before and always loved it so we were very excited about going again having seen the new menu advertised on fb and we were looking forward to trying the new dishes . Arrived for dinner and after being seated we were reached the menu . Looked over it but no sign of the new dishes on the menu. Rang for the waitress to ask why there was no new menu dishes listed. She replied this is a holiday menu for this weekend so just the basics . Disappointed that this was not pointed out before we were seated or at the time of reaching us the menu!!!! I explained that the only reason we had come was to do with the new menu advertised but there was no apology. We ordered off the holiday menu rather than leave but to be honest I wish we had just gone elsewhere . Dry chewy salt and chilli chicken overcooked to perfection and capable of breaking your teeth. Nowhere on your fb page did u state that the new menu u were advertising wasn’t actually available on the days u were advertising it . This has put me right off going back . We left disappointed ."

"Not what it used to be.......7pm on a Friday night called in for something to eat. Had to ask for table to wiped as the place was a mess. Stacks of dishes left on many tables. Others were cleaning down their own tables before sitting. Cutlery sticky. Lots of staff but none worried about the cleanliness of the place. Ordered burgers, not as we expected nor described on the menu.....tiny portions, fatty limp bacon, a square of processed cheese on top. So disappointed. Won't be back."

"What a lovely place meant to go for a few years but only got today homely cozy place we will definitely be back the food was amazing. The staff from the manager to our waitress very nice and attentive even though it was busy. Don't drive passed as we have done go in and enjoy a lovely atmosphere food and staff."

"First impressions upon entering was a very foul smell, like stale vinegar which was instantly off putting but decided to continue as we were curious to try. Staff were very lovely and kind but could have been shown more intuition as they left us for almost 20 mins after our meal was finished with dirty plates even though we ordered a two course meal, in the end we only had one of the courses and just left as no one came. Food was not nice, deli quality grissle and not fresh at all which is very disappointing for the price although my partner seemed to enjoy her meal I do not think we will ever be back. Everything was filthy including the tables, glasses, cutlery, plates, walls, floors and even one of the fabric chairs was stained and bogging. I think the place desperately needs a good professional clean, more experienced staff and perhaps a few scented candles? Regretting letting our curiosity get the better of us. Completely overhyped and wouldn’t wast your time here at all."

"We ordered some cocktails whilst we perused the menu. We both plumped for a rhubarb and ginger mojito, which was served in a jam jar with a handle. The food menus suggest plates each, providing food very much in the tapas style. So, I ended up going for whitebait with lime and coriander mayo; kimchi radishes; salt baked carrots, beets and goats curd and confit duck with bacon, potato and samphire. My dining companion went for sourdough; goats cheese, pomegranate and granola; pigs cheeks and burnt rosemary hand-cut chips Many of the dishes were nice, with the whitebait and pigs cheeks being a highlight but some were average, such as the carrots which were cold so didn't seem to show...read more"

"Without a doubt the worst experience we have ever had. Pre booked a table for 5 for dinner on Saturday evening and when we arrived they didn't seem that busy. We were shown to our table relatively quick. We then had to sit there for around 20 minutes until someone came to take our food order. I was a bit surprised that there was only 2 steaks on the menu unless you gave 24hr notice.We then had to ask could we order a drink. It wasn't a difficult order 1 beer and 4 Fanta. We waited a further 15 for the drinks to come which were wrong also the glasses were disgusting with lipstick and previous drink residue on them.we eventually got all that sorted and the food came. I had ordered a mixed grill which was £28 I asked for my steak to be cooked medium. The plates were literally just in front of us 2 minutes when a waitress came and asked was everything OK. As I began to work my way through the food I eventually got to the 8oz steak which was very well done and extremely hard to chew so it was left. When everyone had finished they came to clear the plates and I told the waitress that I had asked for medium and not well done and to my surprise she immediately got on the defensive asking did someone come and see if everything was OK I told her yes but it was just after the food was brought. 2 minutes later the owner of the place came out of the kitchen with my steak on a small plate and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that that's the way a medium steak should look but there was not even a slight tinge of pink. He then started to tell me that I didn't know how steak was cooked. I then mentioned the glasses and he said didn't they get replaced so what's the problem. At this point t my kids were getting pretty upset so I just asked for the bill so we could leave. To be honest it was very intimidating to have a well over 6ft man stand over you arguing over a piece of steak. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone."

"I am truly impressed by this restaurant. The shellfish dishes were the best I have ever had, and I have dined at restaurants all around the globe. If you have not been here before, you must give it a try. The service, atmosphere, and food were all top-notch. I highly recommend trying the Mussels in Garlic and Lemon and the Popcorn Cockles. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Price per person is around £70–80 for dinner."

"The service at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The waiter was rude and did not greet us with a smile throughout the rushed meal. We were not informed that our table was only available for a limited time when we made the reservation. We were pressured to place our order multiple times within just five minutes of being seated. The chicken dish I ordered with lemon and herb flavor was covered in a strange gelatinous sauce that was clearly not cooked properly. The gravy had no flavor at all. The waiter rushed us through our meal and seemed annoyed when we asked for dessert and a cup of tea. He informed us, for the first time, that the table was needed in fifteen minutes. After paying over £40, we were not even thanked or offered a smile as we left. We have dined here a few times before, but will not be returning due to the rude and rushed service, low quality food, and high prices. There are much better dining options available that we will be trying instead."

"Very slow service,had to go look for someone to attend to us. Then sent upstairs to more of same. It was quiet what were they doing. Eventually we were given a menu and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered a drink then waited a good while on it arriving. A girl then came took our food order. Food was excellent very tasty I had pan fried wild chick with champ,seasonal veg.. broccoli, cauliflower and carrots Son had wild duck burger salted chips he said burger was very pink,some like some don't he was fine with it. Coffee mine a cappuccino fine His a white coffee with a skin on it,he had to remove the skin with his dinner knife,no sugar or tea spoons offered.."

"We use this place a lot and it never lets us down. It is very handy that, for nominal charge, they will deliver to BL1 postcodes. The food is authentic and freshly cooked. True, it is a little more expensive than most takeaways but still offers value for money. This is quality food without a doubt . The green curry is especially good but with yet to find a dish that we don’t like. Allow plenty of time for your order as it can get busy but they are accurate in telling you when it will arrive. Collection, of course, is always an option!"

"This review is for Rococo Ballymena. Hadn 't been here for quite a while, but was given a voucher. So popped in for lunch. Table was dirty, food gathered between glass top and wood. Then we noticed the dirty windows(on inside), also pieces of food on windowsill. Ordered the breaded mushrooms as a starter. I was happily chewing away when I noticed a large black hair smudged in to the garlic mayo when I pushed over a mushroom. Totally put me off. Staff apologised but considering we had a voucher I attempted to eat the main but was put off by my experience with the hair. The barman said he had a good idea who it belonged to,...the person who did the prepping . He was very sincere and apologetic. But we will never be back, which is a shame as we have always loved this place."
