"My husband had a haggis and chilli jam toasty which he said was reasonably tasty. I had a Brie, bacon and cranberry one which was greasy and tasteless. The accompanying crisps weren’t crisp at all. My 2 year old granddaughter rejected her cheese sandwich which was unusual and when we tasted it discovered it was tasteless. The coffee was nice and there were toys for the little one to play with whilst waiting for our lunch."

Good plate of breakfast, tea and toast. Welcoming and helpful staff. The food is hot, a bonus these days and the extra hot latte was extra hot.

Galloway lodge is a hidden gem for the south of scotland. Their friday night burger night is divine. There simply isn't a burger like this in the region. The garlic fries were incredible.

Wow. What a find. Cheese scones right out the oven a great breakfast sausage egg role with braw coffees. Staff very friendly helpful. We sat outside but inside is huge. Well worth a visit.

We love going to the lodge for breakfast with the family, the food is always fantastic and the coffee is even better! Also worth trying the burger night that they run on a Friday night in the summer! View menu

After having breakfast on Friday which was great, we decided to book a table for lunch on Saturday and we weren't disappointed again. Great soup and main meals. Hot and tasty. You have to try the cakes Ask for an extra hot latte and you get an extra hot latte. Great staff

We went for burgers on a Friday night. There was a wide selection of burgers and sides, all very delicious and nicely presented. The staff were fantastic, the restaurant was busy and well-liked. They had a great wine selection to accompany the meal and a variety of tasty desserts to choose from as well. View menu

We discovered this cafe after cycling the Laurieston to GofF road and ended up visiting multiple times during our week-long holiday. The pecan pie, treacle tart, and eggs Benedict were all outstanding. The coffee is also top-notch! The cafe has plenty of seating and is conveniently located next to a large car park, making it easy for us to recycle our bottles at the same time.

I went to this restaurant for breakfast with my two daughters. The eggs Benedict were absolutely fantastic and they even had a vegetarian option. The staff was very friendly and the interior of the building was beautiful. They also have a shop where you can take away your food or purchase some jam and marmalade. I highly recommend trying it out, you won't be disappointed. Absolutely fabulous.

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
