"The restaurant should consider changing its name since it is not at all "express." The service is slow, and it seems like the manager is doing more work than the waitresses, at least some of them. The drinks took a long time to be served, and the food was slow to come out as well. On the positive side, the food was excellent. Even though the thin crust base was not crispy, it was not doughy. The toppings were flavorful, with a nice touch of spice. The pizzas were large and satisfying, though we had to make do with garlic butter instead of garlic sauce. Our waitress was pleasant and always busy, earning her a well-deserved tip. I would recommend this restaurant as long as you are not in a rush to eat."

"This was our first visit to a Pizza Express which made a nice change to our usual choice of pizza restaurant. With somewhere new, the menu choice was refreshing (it 's so easy to find a favourite dish and stick to it) We went with the intention of sticking to the two mains for £10 deal but upgraded a little to a larger pizza. I opted for the Diavolo, my partner, the New Porchetta, my Mom had the Pollo ad Astra and my Mom in law the Classic Lasagna. The pizzas were all on the thin Romano base which meant the knife and fork approach but also meant they were light enough to polish off without the need for a doggy take out box at the end of the evening. The Diavolo was nice and spicy, the Porchetta nice and tasty as was the Pollo ad Astra. Comments about the Lasagna came as the best lasagna I 've ever tasted so a big thumbs up for the food. I finished with a cappuccino which again was all good. The service was fantastic and Roberto (taking the name from the receipt) was so helpful and full of smiles throughout the evening. The place was lively, clean, fresh, modern and airy and seems very popular. It takes walk ins as well as bookings and given its close proximity to Cineworld makes for a handy post/ pre movie meal venue. I think we 'll be returning to make our way through the menu to find our Pizza Express favourite. Would recommend a visit."

"Pizza Express is consistently fantastic. We’ve been visiting for over 25 years (in different locations) and for the last 14 years at the Shrewsbury branch. As always.. we had a great time , loved the food and received outstanding service (as we always do) but unfortunately witnessed an unreasonable lady on an adjacent table treat the staff in a rude and condescending manner. The staff dealt with the situation really professionally in a way that’s says a lot about the management and the company ethos. It just made us want to come back. Erin and her team were just fab. "Let me tell you about my experience here so I turn up with no booking and get turned away which was fair however, I then go into their app (had a 45 minute wait but I didn’t mind since I am pregnant and was craving it) and made a booking only for one server to call me a liar because he said he stopped new bookings online. He also said that the kitchen was closed only for a lady (assuming the manager) to confirm that I indeed did make a booking and invited me and my party to sit. We were given menus and after literally 1 minute the rude server came to us asking us what we wanted. When we stated we hardly had a chance to look at the menu he sarcastically said take your time the kitchen is closing in 10 minutes. After browsing the menu the manager came to take our order. When the starter (dough balls) arrived they were not cooked correctly, remained the size of tiny pebbles and were blatantly burnt from the outside. I took one look and asked the server if they were being serious with the starter. He didn’t even say anything and took it back to correct the mistake. The second batch came and although it was not up to the normal standards of pizza express I accepted it as it was an improvement and I was hungry. We later received our mains and much later into the meal another table turns up. I was confused as when we first sat down we were told the kitchen would close in 10 minutes so why is it after almost an hour the kitchen is still open for other tables ? I understand that it might have been a long day for the servers however to be called a liar and to be lied to is so unprofessional. So disappointed at the way I was treated"
