"This review is the one you need: 1. The queue was 1hr 10 mins on a Saturday at 7pm, not bad in my eyes for a hyped restaurant. It was -2 outside when we queued up so glad I was wearing a fat coat. The queue runs along the river so it will get chilly so make sure you 're warm if visiting in the winter. When we got to the front, the manager moved us under the tables with the heated lamps which was lovely. The food was mostly worth the wait. All in all, not too bad. I was expecting way worse. 6/10 2. The food was mainly good. My highlight was the beef brisket doughnuts...paired with the sauce and the pickles.. omg delicious. The buttermilk prawns were also banging. We had *all* the snacks. The chicken skin was not worth it...cold and dry. Mac and cheese balls were not pulling and dry from the inside. The best snack was the jalapeño popper and calamri. We got the po boy with the buttermilk chicken and I think the chicken was really dry and not tasty. I wish we got the grilled chicken po boy as with all the fried snacks, it all started to taste the same after a while, so if you go I 'd recommend if you 're getting the snacks, get the grilled chicken/prawn option for your BYO Poor Boy . I 'd give the food on its own an 8/10. It was mainly hit, but the items that were misses, were real misses. 3. The restaurant was coooooold inside. Make sure you dress warm if you 're visiting in the winter. I had to sit with my coat over my legs as a blanket! The seats are super uncomfortable and the bathrooms were not the cleanest. 1/10 4. Service is fast and the server we had was very attentive. No fault whatsoever with that! She even swapped over some sauces for us as we had so many of the same sauces! The only thing about the service was that the server didn 't ask us about our meal at the end, but that is being really nit-picking. 10/10 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Brisket"

"excellent in a family or corporate or event restaurant. this place is not Chi Chi Chi or sniffy. Just really good. they are greeted with warmth at the door. at the table they are presented with hearty, warm flat brot with a yogurt-based dip. yum. our Calamari starter was perfectly cooked with a small green salad on the plate and a delicate rémoulade sauce, not hot, not garlicky and not red. as my wife and I are fischaholics our main was their charcoal grilled whole sea bass. this was presented perfectly with colored rice and an salat on the plate. the bass was skillfully prepared with delicate crumbling and olive oil, which did not fight with the mild taste of the fish. the skin of the fish was perfectly cristed. with all this we had a bottle of her non-vintage Turkish white wine kavaklidere cankaya. the cankaya is moderately fed with medium acid; perfectly dry without edges in mouth. mund textur is like a fully mature white bordeaux. the nose and the palate is dominated by honigtaumel with a hauch of fresh coward. the finish is medium. Yeah, all this about a white wine I've never heard of. that was dessert baclava, of course. that was perfectly presented with three large pieces on our plates. we had the baclava with its authentic Turkish tee... sugar, yes; milk, no. twisted with Turkish coffee. all for 80 pfund for two. as besides: I lived in the turkey in the 1970s and I own a fine restaurant in America, but now in the opposite. I have eaten in stars restaurants in France and italy. I think I know when a restaurant shoots on all cylinders and this is here. book them early as there are limited tables in this little gem of a restaurant. kudos an ray of the owner. he is a young and enthusiastic businessman and wants them to be satisfied. go to the mosaic grill and look forward to it."

"We used to go to the Green Man a lot under the previous owners and thought we would give it a try again for our wedding anniversary with our children. Bit of a mistake! You can see they are trying to improve the quality of the food, which was always good anyway but poor training and terrible service really let it down tonight. So we sat at 17:30 and it was 15 mins before we were offered drinks, not a massive deal. Food order another 10 mins. Both the kids ordered burgers so I specifically asked if there was mayonnaise in the burgers and if the coleslaw was separate and was told no mayo in burger and coleslaw separate. Starter sharing mezze was OK except only 2 bits of halloumi (for 4 people) and odd tasting sandy brown coloured olives. So the burgers turn up and have coleslaw chucked on the plate right on the burgers and mayo in the buns. So they went back and “replacements” came back from the kitchen very quickly which were the same burgers just in new buns with no mayo and the coleslaw in ramekins. Then the wife’s fish and chips. Looked nice and waited for service to offer condiments however seems we are being left alone now we said about the burgers. So she starts tucking in and finds a short dark black human hair on the plate. So that gets sent back. To be fair to the chef came out and apologised that he had not put his bandana on and unfortunately one of his hairs had fallen on the plate. OK forgive that once and say thank you for apologising. However it’s the same but if fish (as the wife had picked a bit off the end) and probably the same chips. Lovely. Then we totally get left alone. The kids were enjoying the burgers but slightly over salted and the water had run out so we thought get more water so they can finish and that someone would come near, which they did but to serve the tables around us and completely ignore us, even when trying to get attention. So in the end we get up (and could totally have walked out without paying and none of the staff would have been any the wiser) that’s not us though, so we paid. Told the chap at the bar that we had to come to the bar as we had been totally ignored (him being one of the many staff fawning over the people on the tables around us) and he just said OK handed the receipt. Now was the time for an apology, maybe even some sort of discount (which most places just do regardless) but no, nothing, no apology, no discount. Not bothered about the money So I paid in full and will be extremely unlikely to (read will never) set foot in the place again as there was no attempt at apology. Happy wedding anniversary! When you book there is a question “is it a special occasion” which we put yes it was our wedding anniversary and no acknowledgment so they obviously ignore those bits on the bookings. It felt like it was very clicky, like if you are known or are loaded you get looked after. Not a place for mere mortals."
