"Since we were already in town, my partner and I decided to try out this new restaurant for lunch or dinner. The prices seemed average, based on what we saw online."

"One of my favourite dishes from Asian cuisine is dim sum. I always thought when I moved to London Chinatown will be probably a kind of paradise for me with dim sum at every corner. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Most of the restaurants in Chinatown don't know what their dim sum are made of... I went to many places and they couldn't tell me what was in their dim sum as they are not homemade (they are probably all frozen from the supermarket next door). Having an intolerance to some seafood ingredients, I have a very limited choice in those restaurants. My favourite dim sum in France have always been pork and prawn xiu mai and prawn hakao Recently I heard about a Cantonese/Chinese...read more"

"Very good but bizarrely mind boggling Chose this resturant as reviews of food good and never been there before. Choice of food excellent and quality very good. Staff very attentive. Not much atmosphere and has the feel of a cafe albeit comfortable furnishings. We did realise this establishment did accommodation until we went to the toilet and then the most bizarre happened. Two apparently residents came into the resturant and sat at the table next to us, unwrapped fish and chips that they had brought from elsewhere and started to eat them!! The whole resturant then was overcome by the smell of vinegar and you could have been sitting in a chip shop. Not pleasant! I would go here again but only as a casual visit."

"My wife, 16 year old son and I popped in here for a drink on a Saturday evening. It was not very busy but still took about 10 minutes to get served at the bar. The first drinks were ok but when I got the next round I noticed it was considerably more than the previous one for a very similar round. It took five minutes to get acknowledged by the bar staff, including the girl who had just served me. Thankfully, I had paid by card and kept my receipt, although it didn 't show the actual drinks ordered. The manager offered to take it upstairs to the office to check it out by said there was no need as all I needed to know was the price of the drinks I had been charged for.Eventually it transpired that I had been charged £2.90 for a small glass of lemonade for my son, almost as much as I had been charged for a pint of beer. I told the manager that I considered that to be a rip off but she explained that the glass could be refilled free of charge. This wasn 't made clear to my wife who had bought the first round. The manager apologised but said I had been charged correctly. I was still fuming and gave her every opportunity to rectify the situation but she stuck rigidly to the rule book. When I told here that it was her choice but to expect to see the review on social media, she said that was unfair as I had been correctly charged.I object to this practice as it would appear to be ripping off families but worse still, it is encouraging children to drink vast quantities of sweet sugary drinks with long term health implications.Looking at the reviews on here, it appears that I am not the only one who thinks this place is awful. I cannot recall having visited an establishment that has more Terrible reviews than any other category."

"I booked a table for two easily through the website and was greeted by a friendly young waitress. Our table was initially placed next to a children's party, so I requested a quieter spot, and we were moved right away without any issues. The salad was fresh and served by the staff. Our main courses were well-prepared, and the service was prompt. Just when I thought I couldn't eat another bite, we decided to order dessert! Overall, it was a great experience with delicious food and helpful staff, especially Jacky, who took care of us. We would likely choose to dine here on a weekday for a more relaxed atmosphere. That said, it was lovely to see families having fun together."

"Popped in for an adhoc lunch having not been to a Harvester for some time since our local one closed. Pleasantly surprised by the superb standard of service and cleanliness. Excellent menu and food served was delivered promptly and piping hot. Definitely the best experience we've had at a Harvester...we'll certainly be back. Dan (the manager) and the whole team could not have been friendlier or more attentive. Vegetarian options: Good varied choice of veggie options. I'm a creature of habit and usually pick the same thing when eating out but there's lots to choose from that I will be trying on future visits!"

"We arrived at the Harvester early for our 2030 booking. The man greeting us at the door gave us a run down of the current COVID related procedures to follow and were then shown to our table . We sat down and waited at least half hour , while a server literally sped past us to all other tables to attend to their requests . It felt like he was deliberately ignoring us. In the end my Dad got up to speak to one of the staff we had noticed that they were clearing things away from the salad buffet.Eventually, a friendly server came by and apologised for the lack of service , and promptly took our orders and sent for another server to escort us to the salad bar. The server that was sent was abrupt and a little rude. We got drinks and starters and then waited for the main meal. I had ordered a meal with steak as did my Mum and when the mains arrived , the server informed me that the meal he put in front of me was “non well done”and he put the well done meal in front of my mum. The opposite was true but he left by that time. The taking of the payment was very prompt compared to everything else that evening, due to the current COVID closing times overall the end of the meal was better than the rest of the evening."

"We arrived at 7:30pm to an empty restaurant and we were greeted by a polite gentleman. We had a drink and ordered our food. The food was very nice but I do feel that as we were the only people in the restaurant that it came very quickly and we were in danger of finishing our meal before we had finished our drinks. Overall we had a lovely evening and after a group of people entered we felt more at ease and less self conscious."

"We haven’t been for a while but we thought that we would give the breakfast ago. Upon arrival we were surprised to see only 2 people in the restaurant it took a very short time to find out why. We both ordered the classic breakfast the sausage’s were cremated by only Luke warm at best. The mushroom was cooked but was at the temperature of just coming out of the fridge as was the tomato, hash browns had a vague Luke warmth about them as was the bacon. The only thing on the plate that was hot was the eggs but being served on cold plates in a cold restaurant that were themselves cold in a very short time. All in all a totally disappointing experience which we will not be repeating. Would have complained if asked how the food was but didn’t see the server after she delivered the food until I went to look for her to pay."

"Arrived for the first time since we came when they first reopened and that was not a good experience, well we arrived today and were shown our table , good space between tables so a good start, I had the mushrooms to start and they...were very good and hot, which makes a change these days, for main I decided I would have the mixed grill as I was not convinced the roast potatoes would be crispy as advertised, well I made the right choice as another of our party had the roast and the potatoes were definitely NOT crispy, the mixed grill was excellent overall, but better flavoured sausages would improve the grill immeasurably, my criticism would be don’t put “crispy potatoes” if they are not, and please ensure staff are aware before asking what you want, that they know what the soup of the day is, as it’s very annoying when they keep running off to check ! Overall for the price point very good, just improve the little areas and will be 5 star"

"I went to this restaurant with a friend and had a fantastic meal. Kathy was very attentive and helped me navigate the menu, which is crucial for me as I have Coeliac disease. The food was delicious and there were plenty of options for me to choose from. I also appreciated that they had all dietary information readily available, giving me peace of mind when dining out. The service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was top-notch. I would highly recommend this place for lunch, as the price per person ranges from £20-30.Overall, I give it top ratings for food, service, and atmosphere."
"I absolutely love this restaurant - I come here almost every week because the food and service are always excellent, and they have fantastic deals. It's a child-friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The only downside is the limited salad bar options, but that's a minor issue considering everything else this place has to offer."

"I am extremely disappointed with the food and quality of this restaurant. Initially, I requested fish but was told it was sold out, so I settled for portabello mushrooms. However, I was informed that they only had breaded mushrooms, which I declined. I also ordered prawns in garlic and chicken wings. When the chicken wings arrived, they were cold. After sending them back, they were returned very hot, which was satisfactory. The other three meals were decent but not great, and all portions of chips were cold. I will not be returning to this restaurant, and I will be sharing my negative experience with friends."

"We went to Harvester Amesbury this morning for classic English breakfast. It was first class, if not a little too substantial! We’d previously been to the Amesbury Tobys where they served us inedible slop and the manager not surprisingly refused to come out to speak to us. Today was a totally different experience. The restaurant was clean, meals very good and great service provided by Faye."

"We were given hot bowls for our salad and felt like we were an inconvenience to the waitress. The drinks no longer offered free refills, and the kids had a dessert included in their menu instead. The food was good overall, with a great salad bar and delicious scampi, veg sticks, and chicken pieces. However, the rump steak ordered by my oldest nephew was surprisingly small for an older kids' meal. While the food was enjoyable, the service was lacking. The waitress seemed disinterested and didn't communicate well with us. When it came time to pay, I tried to use a special offer from the app, but the waitress was not accommodating. She insisted on charging full price before eventually applying the discount codes. The situation became unnecessarily complicated, and I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed in front of other diners. In the end, a manager stepped in to help apply the discounts correctly, but the entire experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I won't be returning to this restaurant, as it shouldn't be so difficult to use advertised offers, and being scolded for not reading the terms and conditions was unnecessary and rude."

"Generally it's not too bad here, but on this occasion the staff seemed stressed, took over thirty minutes for the mains to arrive and when they did the chicken was extremely dry (usually not anywhere near this bad). We noted that food was being left on the counter for long durations whilst the staff ran around trying to appease people. One family nearby walked out without paying as they were so disgusted by the way the food tasted. Normally we're quite happy based on the price that you pay, but this time even the fact that the Harvester is generally cheap it shouldn't be this bad. We hope it's just a one off... has made us think twice about returning."

"Great family trip (including the for legged furball) to the local Harvester. Lovely atmosphere and quality of food was hot and delicious and my favourite crackerjack prawns were tasty! The team are so welcoming of dogs and offer a water bowl and dog biscuits on near the fireplace. Noticed that they now do cocktails so shall be returning to enjoy some more tasty delights and a taxi home! Thanks to the Beaten Track team for a lovely evening."

"I went for Afternoon Tea with my husband. The sandwiches were ok, nothing special. The cakes again were ok. I give lots of Afternoon Teas, and have been to hotels and Fortnum Mason for beautiful teas, so l was disappointed when the sandwiches appeared on a plain white earthenware plate and the cakes on a slate!! no tiered cake stands and no Green Tea either. Also you should be asked if you want more tea or sandwiches or cakes, again not forthcoming. The Afternoon Tea was a present so l feel it was wasted and perhaps should have chosen another location."
