"We were staying at Griffon Forest and get 10% off the bill.It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we had pre booked a table.On entering the restaurant the noise was deafening and we were unable to hear what the waiting staff were saying.There was a large party there including very young children who would not behave and whose parents ignored what they were doing.At one point the children forced of the fire exits and still no rebuke from the adults.The staff were overwhelmed by the party but still managed to sort out the rest of the guests and soon the restaurant was full.My wife has to have Gluten Free food as she is Ceoliac and the menu caters for special diets.The food was very tasty and plentiful and once the children had gone it all quietened down.Advisable to check your bill as there is a suggested tip level from 12-18% but you can give your own."

"We hadn't visited this restaurant in a few years due to various reasons, but I'm so glad we decided to go back today. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and he was very friendly and pleasant. He even made an adjustment to my husband's meal without us having to ask, and he double-checked our order, which was much appreciated. The food arrived within 10-15 minutes and was piping hot, not lukewarm like some other places we've been to. I had one of the best curries I've ever tasted, packed with chicken and bursting with flavor. They also offer a great selection of alcohol-free beverages, which is a refreshing change from the usual fruit juices and sodas you find elsewhere. This emphasis on quality extends to the food as well. The atmosphere was relaxed, especially since we went in the late afternoon when it wasn't too busy. Overall, it's an excellent choice if you're looking to enjoy a leisurely couple of hours, and we highly recommend it for both couples and families."

"The room was very cool/cold. The waiter appeared very disappointed we were not ordering anything alcoholic. We both ordered the grill, which arrived on cool plates, toast was also delivered, but no side plates or knives, therefore having to use dinner knives for rock hard butter. Tried for some time to attract attention of staff ,for more butter, but they were too busy in conversation. The staff were totally untrained and devoid of personality. We visited this restaurant approx two months ago and the staff were so welcoming and attentive, we really could not believe it was same place"

"We went to dinner on Christmas Day after paying a high price upfront. Upon arrival, we were informed that the dessert we ordered was not available and were offered a chocolate brownie instead. The roast turkey dinner was disappointing, with poorly cooked potatoes, undercooked parsnips, and bland cauliflower cheese. The salmon dish was dry and had a bitter taste, with a small portion of dauphinois potatoes. Our cheesecake order was initially served without the profiteroles and caramel sauce we requested, but after showing the waitress the menu, the correct dish was brought out. We were surprised to be told by the waitress that the chef had done this "especially" for us, as it was what we had ordered and paid for. The staff never asked us how our meal was, likely because they knew it was not up to standard. To top it off, we had to wait a long time to pay our drinks bill as their machine was not working. Other diners were also voicing complaints, and we met another couple in the parking lot who shared our disappointment. Overall, it was a terrible Christmas Day experience."

Luckily we arrived just after opening time and there was no issue with getting a table we also got the table I had requested when booking but this was by of luck as the table had not been reserved for us. "An old fashioned Italian restaurant that has obviously been successful for many years with a loyal local clientele. The decor was ok if somewhat tired but, as said, has to be successful so why change?The owner is a great guy, larger than life and very accommodating and funny. His second is a little less outward going and does not seem to enjoy his job much but could be it was just a bad day for him which after the last number of months is entirely understandable.I had mussels, which were excellent, and herself a caprese salad the quality of the tomato and mozzarella was not the greatest plus it was swimming in too much balsamic dressing (which, he pointed out to us, is how he likes it personally).For mains, herself had a really excellent seared lamb and lamb risotto from the specials and she loved it. I tried a little and have to agree it was excellent. I had Zuppa de pesci which was pleasant enough but the star of the show, large prawns, were somewhat over cooked and slightly powdery to my taste.Having had excellent dinners in two local restaurants, overall it was a disappointing last night’s stay in Seaford softened by some good cooking and watching the host at work.The wine list, incidentally, is good and would recommend the dry house Rose and the Primitivo which was excellent!"

Diabolical service.. managers didnt know the head to their foot never mind how to serve a table.. 3 things we tried to order after waiting for 15 minutes that wasnt on the menu.. we complained after being there for 55 minutes and only receiving our starters to hear the managers stood slandering us.. and creamy mushrooms? Ive had more cream in a bourbon biscuit.. Didnt even get to try the main as we cancelled them.. 4 tables in the whole building and saying its busy! Ridiculous766 excellent reviews?? Them 766 are obviously not mentally there or used to a mcdonalds... i mean fast food takeouts have more manners than this place. If i had the option i would give a minus rating.. not even worth a 1!. Try some team training meetings on customer service and how to speak to people."

"I've been here about three times now with the family, including a wedding reception. Always a fairly stress free trip, plenty of parking and the staff are always friendly. The food is nothing short of excellent.... if you eat meat. The vegetarian options on my last visit were a risotto (I've already had it, you know what you're getting with risotto), a goats' cheese salad, vegetable ravioli and a burger. This time I ordered the burger, having seen what the meat ones look like. When it arrived I honestly thought there had been a mistake. A single slice of lettuce, a single slice of tomato and a deep fried something or other that was so oily I couldn't taste anything else. My Brother's pulled pork burger on the other hand was phenomenal. Why would I eat this when I could get better, for half the price at Wetherspoons? Really lame, really disappointed. It is not that difficult to produce quality vegetarian food. I actually felt quite upset and spent most of the meal staring at my half eaten food. Unfortunately, the next time the Nags Head is suggested I will veto it."

"We visit this restaurant every sixth Friday when our dog is being cared for. I had the hunch to try their fish and chips, and I was delighted by how beautifully battered and crispy they were. We often bring our older friend, who absolutely loves the toffee banoffee pie. I also brought my family along, and they all enjoyed their meals; the melon cheesecake was particularly refreshing. My partner prefers simpler dishes, so they sometimes make her sausages and chips, and she loves the spicy ones. The staff is always very polite and incredibly helpful."

"Pretty poor service. Took an hour for our food for 2 people. Tables that came in after we had ordered, getting their food first. After 40 minutes I asked a waitress what's going on she said she would check. 10 minutes later still hadn't come to let us know anything so then had to go speak to a lad who said it will be coming next, I mentioned that others were getting their food who had came in and ordered after us he just said ours is next. A few more dishes came out for other tables then finally ours after an hour. They obviously had forgotten about our order. Then the same waitress choosing to squeeze past our table and the wall to get to another table while we are eating, when plenty of space to go around. Goes away then does it again. Just a bad experience here today. Won't be rushing back in a hurry after today."

"I went to The Fairie Tree for Mother’s Day after booking a table four weeks in advance. We were seated quickly and our drink and food orders were taken promptly. The menu offered basic pub grub, nothing fancy or a la carte. My three teenagers ordered haddock and chips, while I opted for the chicken and leek dish. A large party of 8 was seated nearby and their starters arrived quickly. However, we had been waiting for 20 minutes since ordering our food. After waiting for 50 minutes to an hour, I finally had to flag down a waitress to inquire about our food. She discovered that our order had not gone through to the chef due to a computer error, without offering an apology. Our food eventually arrived after another 20 minutes, which was decent but nothing special. When my son wanted dessert, it took another 10-15 minutes to get someone's attention. He ordered sticky toffee pudding, which again took 30 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was not busy. We were about to give up on the dessert when the chef informed the waitress it was ready. There was no apology for the delay. When we asked for the bill, we didn't receive any sort of reduction for the poor service. The staff did not seem interested in addressing our concerns, and overall the service was slow and unfriendly. The food was overpriced and mediocre. I do not plan on returning as the experience was disappointing."

"Me and my hubby went to the cattle and cocktail for the first time tonight, and to say it was an amazing meal is a huge understatement. Not only was the steak cooked to perfection (perfectly pink), but the staff were absolutely fantastic. Welcoming, with friendly conversation and brilliant service. The decor was stunning, and the whole evening left us excited to return. Truly beautiful night. Thank you to the amazing service staff and chef. "Service was absolutely terrible. We waited and waited and waited... Even though we booked a table for it was after when we finally got someone to acknowledge we'd arrived and were shown to a table. Then we waited again. Got our drinks fifteen...minutes later, and placed our order. Waited half an hour for a small starter. Then waited another half an hour for one of the worst main courses I've ever had. Extremely salty chicken in barbecue sauce, a fatty strip of bacon, bit of coleslaw, and luke warm chips. It was dry and absolute rubbish. The service was abysmal, the food poor quality, it was noisy and dirty and an utter shambles. Never again."

"The stars are for the staff who were lovely. My friend and I had a jacket potato with cheese and beans. They arrived my friend had about 10 beans on her potato i didn't fare much better. "the ignorance of the food industry towards food allergies is frightening and the heart restaurant is an excellent example for this unpredictable ignorance. the restaurant was informed in advance about the heavy allergy of my daughter on seafood. they gave us a table next to the kitchen, because they ignore at the heart that an allergic reaction can be caused by breathing in steaming from the cooking of seafood or any food. they fry the chips in the same oil where they roast seafood and roast the meat at the same place where they fry the garnels. the alternative offered was a waiting period of 30 minutes, hoping that someone would go. they let us wait in a street where the other restaurants wore their müll and smoke the people. unnecessary to say that we have gone. when we add that the restaurant was aware that it was my 40th birthday and we were there to celebrate, the image of an absolute ignorance and inability becomes more complete. absolutely terrible experience. to avoid any event!"
