"The atmosphere was amazing. The jazz was fabulous and made the evening. We ordered our food and within less than five minutes it was delivered to our table. I would assume it was microwaved. It tasted okay but was nothing special. We ordered tart Tarim for pudding And it looked like microwaved slop on a plate. Albeit it tasted okay presentation was not good. Thank Melvin for the jazz it was wonderful."

"The food was good but the service was poor from one member of staff. Our order was taken professionally by a young lady with a dark pony tail (no problem with this lady). We had ordered tap water which did not appear so I collected a jug myself. We had also ordered olives and bread to share between 4 of us. The olives arrived promptly but with no bread. After a further 10 minutes I went to the counter and asked the other lady with fair hair about the bread. She just curtly replied “Yes” with no apology. She eventually sauntered over to the kitchen area to get It. We then realised we needed small plates to dip our bread into the oil and balsamic vinegar. When requested these were casually served in an abrupt manner. The restaurant was very quiet so there was no excuse for this. Our main courses were served politely by a bearded gentleman. It was just the one lady who spoilt our lunch. Maybe there is a language problem."

"Overall, 3 out of 5 so 'good '. Starters were tasty, though the Camembert was slightly underdone (still a little solid in middle) and choux pastry a little stale. 'Vegan Burger ' was excellent, as were the french fries. The Beef Burger, though tasty had a pretty 'tough ' and 'grizzly ' beef patty and a bit overdone. Service friendly, and given it was christmas and very busy no high expectations here."

"The food menu was new and only offered limited Sunday roast options. We each ordered one, but it was disappointing to learn that there was no children's menu available. One of the parents had to leave to find food for their son at a local chippy, which was unacceptable for a family pub. After waiting about 1 hour and 30 minutes, only 4 out of 10 orders arrived, and most of them were undercooked. Despite our concerns, no staff members approached us until we started asking questions and spoke to the manager. We were informed that they had outsourced their Sunday kitchen for the first time, but by 3pm, the chef had still not arrived and amateurs or alternative help were attempting to prepare the orders. Ultimately, we were told that no further food would be served. We decided to leave and were still asked to pay for our drinks. Overall, it was a completely unacceptable experience and we will not be returning to the Paxton in the future."

"Sadly this was a disappointment, having arrived slightly early for a table than booked, we were shown to a table in the back corridor with poor lighting and no atmosphere despite the restaurant having plenty of good space left. We were not given the a la carte menu which we wanted and received zero service after 10 minutes so we got up and left."

"Roasts arrived and required heating up, the roast potatoes were dry. The rest of it was lovely meat cooked really well. The sticky toffee pudding went down very well but I was disappointed in the brownie, crumbled as soon as I put my spoon in; didn’t eat most of it. The ice cream was very tasty so a mixed experience food wise. The staff were brilliant and took some money off the bill which was really appreciated"

"This is a belated review of a visit I had at the beginning of December. Eric Chavot's restaurant in Mayfair is a classy brasserie, but I couldn't help but think that with its relatively simple menu, it wouldn't dare to aspire to a Michelin star in Paris. However, here in London, where French cuisine like this isn't as common, it is truly exceptional! The sourdough bread and butter were heavenly, and for my starter, I chose the scallop ceviche, which was beautifully presented and had a perfect balance of flavors. Other appetizers at our table included the chicken liver parfait with plum and fig chutney, as well as a lovely charcuterie selection. As for the main course, my wife... "We booked Masons for a Sat evening as they were recommended in a article by The Mancs, 50% off throughout Jan. Only to find out on the evening we were there, it’s offer of 50% off is only valid from Sunday to Friday, but not all Sundays in Jan. So basically Mon to Friday for up to a party of 6. Very disappointed when the waitress who seated us told us there isn’t a 50% off tonight. As that was why we booked. Food was nice, but not outstanding. Expensive and certainly not justified on portion size. My main course was £24 and titled Snapper and monkfish (with mussels, squid, prawns and samphire). When it arrived I was very disappointed, it was a bowl of stew. One small piece of snapper(bite size), one small piece of monkfish(bite size), 5 mussels, 4 prawns and 2 pieces of chewy squid ring in a tomato and samphire sauce. It was nice, but maybe it could have been advertised as a stew, and it could have been served with some bread, and spoon and a bowl for the mussels shells? It was a small main, and I was left bemused and hungry. If I hadn’t order a side of truffle fries, I don’t think I would have felt I’ve had a meal. We weren’t impressed on this occasion, or the last time we dined here during the pandemic “Eat out to help out scheme”. Its a terrible shame as we have dined at Masons several times before the pandemic, but it seems to have lost its quality, atmosphere and high standard of service we experienced previously. Judging from our last two visits, I don’t think we will be back to Masons in the future. I don’t know if it’s changed chef or manager, but it’s definitely lost the customer service, quality of food, value and atmosphere."

"We have been to Gattuso many times and the food is always fantastic. I felt this time, though, that the service was a bit hit and miss. The staff are fantastic but the food was delivered at different times. My husband’s pizza came out first he had almost finished by the time my friend and I received our pasta and parmigiana. Then they brought out the limoncello cake and cannoli while I waited another 10 minutes for my chocolate fondant. I’d much prefer that the food all came out at the same time. It was, however, delicious as ever. I love that they’ve expanded the restaurant so the tables have been spread out and it doesn’t feel cramped. It has a lovely ambiance."

"We came for the first time on a mood a few weeks ago, based on Google reviews, and I'm so glad we did! As soon as we arrived on a dry rainy day, we were greeted with a very warm welcome and sitting in a stand. The menu was quite big and we didn't really know where to start! But in the end we ordered a mezze platter, some crispy potatoes, halloumi and the fat lamb (can lamb be fatat? Something along these lines! We were not disappointed at all. It was all absolutely delicious, and beautifully presented too! The lamb was particularly incredible. The staff was really friendly and friendly, could not ask for more. We will definitely be happy again!"

"Have been past here so many times, but today thought we would go in and get a breakfast. And we were very pleased we did. The cafe itself is great inside with old style booths in the front and tables with a TV in the back. The food was very nice indeed and we also tried a couple of house cocktails, well why not? They had the world cup on in the back, so we carried on our day with a few pints watching the footie. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Will now be a place we come more often for sure."

"I am a regular at this restaurant on Monday nights because the upstairs area hosts one of the best jazz clubs in London, managed by Will. They bring top talent to us Londoners, and tonight's performance by the Jo Davies trio was exceptional. Her new album was recorded live here, so I am excited to hear it! The ambiance and acoustics are wonderful, and the staff is very friendly. The beer selection is decent, but I wish they had a stronger bitter ale like Greene King Abbot or London Pride instead of Good Old Boy. We tried the Mahajana IPA, which was better but still not quite what we were looking for. I recommend getting the house wine if you are sharing a bottle with two or more people."

"We waited for an hour and forty minutes for our food. The group at the next table (a party of eight) had been waiting even longer. When the food finally arrived, two out of the three dishes we ordered (both pork roasts) were very good, but the third dish (chicken) was not. We had to complain about it. The cauliflower cheese was also disappointing, as it was gooey and lacked flavor. Overall, our dining experience was disappointing."

"We were very disappointed with our meal here. It took almost an hour to place our order despite the fact we were one of two occupied tables there (we were a party of When the mains eventually came, one of the orders was wrong. Someone had ordered a burger without cheese. The waiter took the order back and we watched as the chef then scraped the cheese from the burger and sent it back. As the person who ordered it had a cheese allergy she had to send it back and wait for another to be cooked. By the time the burger arrived, the rest of us had long finished the meal. We weren't offered any discount or compensation for this. Food was average and over priced. Approx for burgers and a drink each. Would not recommend or return here."

"The Soak is the restaurant of the beautiful Grade II listed railway hotel, The Clermont Victoria. Completely refurbished post covid the result is a very elegant and classy espace. The deco is 5*, it feels grand but relaxed at the same time. High ceilings wonderfully detailed in white, contrast with the rich grey of the walls and columns. Rich blue velvet seats, darker leather, light grey marble tables to the sides and dark wooden in the center with curved seating and beautiful globular lights. All very stylish. The food is good but not great. I had the posh prawn cocktail, rib eye and black forest brownie. The steak probably the weakest. The staff are great though and service very attentive. All in all, a beautiful restaurant with great staff and service. The food is ok but I expected a bit more."
