"We had reserved a table, so there was no wait upon arrival. However, we were disappointed to find out that they did not have fish and chips available. The vegetarian options were limited and not very appealing. Upon being seated, we were not asked about our drink preferences. When we finally got the waitress's attention for drinks, we were informed that there was no drink menu available, leaving us unsure of prices. It was also challenging to get the waitress's attention between courses."

"So where to begin ok first time for me going to this Harvester and once parked up walking to the entrance I noticed the sign hanging on the wall in need of repair and overall you can see it's not been looked after or maintained for a few years, once inside we were ushered to our table, Once sat down we were offered the menu mine had the added bonus of dried food stuck inside the menu as well as someone's hair lucky me. After ordering food and drinks we were offered to go to the salad bar and pick choices which were added to the bowls all good although the Harvester salad cart isn't anything like the Harvester of years ago Back at the table and first forkful of mixed salad I realised the fork I used had left over food welded to the prongs another surprise I wasn't expecting. Looking around and you realise this venue hasn't been maintained or cleaned properly for a very long time, dust and grease on the lampshades stains on Paint skirting boards coming away from structures and I don't think the outside seating area has seen a jetwash in the last few years. Going to the toilet! Well what can I say that's positive the hand dryer works well! So cubicle covered in graffiti tags and clearly the cleaning team don't go anywhere near the back of the toilet as it's clearly not seen a cleaning cloth mop or bleach in years! The hot water on sink 1 doesn't work and the hot water on sink 2 doesn't get hot So back to the food I ordered the mix grill with rump steak having watched someone opposite trying to cut his streak that kinda looked like boot leather I asked for medium rare hopefully it'll arrive medium, I was right to a degree it was cooked way beyond medium rare and medium in fact it was beyond well but it was edible The size of the meal is enormous but the gammon is unbelievably salty and again cooked a lot longer than necessary but again edible Overall it's very disappointing and it's not a venue I'll return to until the owners decide to update the property and show improvement to the state of the toilets and overall cleaning standard as well as repairs, The only positive I can say is the service staff do genuinely try and give you a positive and enjoyable experience it's just a shame the management owners don't give them a nice environment to work in."

"This is a good place to dine on a day out en route to Portsmouth. Excellent booking service, easy parking, a friendly welcome on arrival, prompt and attentive service, relaxed atmosphere and good food . One unfortunate hiccup with the dessert. There was an unwanted piece of wrapping paper in the Ice Cream Sundae. The waitress reported it to the kitchen and we were not charged for the desserts. Nevertheless, it is very likely that we will go there again."

"The greeting could be more friendly, in fact I would say there is not much that does not need improving. We have had many stays here but today was the worst experience I have had there. Asked for a table at ..told could not do so booked for But it was empty!! Two other tables. The melon starter was not ripe. The main meal was only just warm. The gravy was not even hot. In fact it had a skin on it. Not once were we asked if everything was ok. In fact it was far from OK!! As I said we have been many times...but no more!"

"The service was extremely disappointing. We had made a reservation in advance and mentioned that it was our first time dining there, yet no one informed us about the complimentary salad bar. We were seated with our 3-year-old daughter, who didn't receive a welcome drawing for kids until we noticed other children with them and had to ask for one ourselves. When I inquired about the special, I was told there weren't any available, and just five minutes later, I saw drinks being served to another table. It was honestly very poor service. To top it off, the children's set menu was charged as individual dishes instead of a combined price. We definitely won't be returning."

When we raised our concern, we didn’t receive an apology; instead, we got a lecture about how the temperature is checked after cooking. The service from Simon, the Assistant Manager, was disappointing, although the waiting staff were decent until we voiced our issue. According to Simon, it seems we have higher standards than most because we prefer our food to be hotter than lukewarm. We also did not receive a response to our written complaint."

"absolutely great place and fabulous staff. we were served by elaine (apologies, if I look the wrong) who was a first-class Notch service! she had a big sniper, who was very well after us all, made sure we were happy and let us laugh a few times. she even helped make a group photo of all of us with our Christmas dinner. this place is always one of the best / favorites for a few years and it is always down great eating good prices and excellent staff. now looks better since it was renovated! (as did not have the opportunity to go with kovid and work) and some friends who could not come ask us already in group chat when the next is how they want to come now!"

"The restaurant experience was very disappointing. I had booked a menu that included steak, chicken, and ribs, but only the chicken was available. There were limited options for drinks, with only a choice of coke or J20, and we were restricted to one drink each. "We used to visit Durley Dean Harvester every week, but stopped going when they changed the menu and we couldn't get what we wanted. I'm glad to say that things have vastly improved since the last time we visited, and although the staff seem to have changed a lot, the service was efficient and speedy. We visited on a 50% VIP deal, and hope that Harvester join the Tastecard scheme soon (like a lot of other chaines have recently) and we would possibly go back to visiting weekly again."

"our first visit in the harvester and it will be our last. with two occurring in a day I think the manager should have known how busy it should be. at the arrival many people were told that online booking services were not available and that was waiting minutes. we arrived for a pm booking. we were told there was no Rotisserie chicken. no mushrooms or tomatoes. we ordered two fish and chips and two salmon dinners. no starters were ordered. we waited for our dinners, which when it was served, so over cooked it was unusable. we have made our waitress aware of how unsatisfied we were and she was very polite and professional and offered us a dessert. unfortunately because of the time we had to wait for a main course, we had no time to eat a dessert, as the show immediately began with the whole experience was a chaos and I am as disappointed as it was a gift for my mother who celebrated her birthday. she is a diabetic and we chose the harvester from all the foods within the as we thought it would be the safest option for her needs. it was really embarrassing for me and mean man. I would not recommend this place for a starter. the bar had also escaped from beer."

"We arrived and the booking, through open table, had apparently not gone through. I had the online receipt and the manager eventually sorted us a table out . The food overall was prett unimpressive. The salad was ok but not great. The crackerjack prawns were served in a plastic cup which gets zero points for presentation. The Half chicken and chips lacked meat on the chicken and was dry and the chips were very salty. It was served with a plastic tiny tub with a teaspoon of salad and I didn't even waste my time on it. The waitress was polite and efficient and although she did ask if we were happy we did not give an honest reply as we were treating my wife's sister and we felt embarrassed. They really need to try harder. We had eaten here a month or two earlier and had no problems"

"Went on a weekday for lunch, my girlfriend has a buy a meal get one free offer. We booked for a Wednesday at 1:30. We turned up and it was busy however only about 3 staff on the floor serving tables. We waited about 20 minutes just to get shown to our table, the first table we were shown still had left over food from the previous people that had used the table. We were shown a clear 2nd table which we sat at, this had dry food on it, the cutlery had to be wiped on the spare napkin to be cleaned. The salad bar was great. We ordered chicken skewers and classic combo from the grill range. The chicken skewer turned out to be the driest chicken I'd ever tasted. The classic combo also had chicken which was the smallest piece of chicken I'd seen We complained and the waitress removed the chicken skewer from the bill. In short we paid for chips salad and 2 cokes!!"

"Arrived at this restaurant during a chaotic early evening rush. The host was friendly and informed us that since we hadn't made a reservation, we could sit in the bar area, which we agreed to. Our table was promptly cleaned for us. The bartender, however, did not seem very interested in serving us and took a long time to prepare our drinks. I ordered mushrooms for my starter followed by a salad bowl. The starters arrived quickly, but the mushrooms were lukewarm. The salad bowl was decent, but lacked croutons and beetroot, and the presentation was not very neat. Despite this, the food we did have was okay. The busy atmosphere meant that the tables were cluttered with dishes and glasses, and there was not a single clean table in the bar area. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be returning to this Harvester in the future. Not the best experience I've had at a Harvester restaurant."

"my mother and I went here to Mother's Day and had a decent time. it was of course very busy, but still found that my waitress was engaged, attentive and helpful when it came to order etc. They did not look brittle, cramped or overwhelmed. eating is reasonable. they have a new menu and so comes now all listed with calorie counting on the page really eye opening see the calorie in the food. the menu tries to meet all nutritional requirements and as much as I think. we went to the salatable where a wet was willing to serve us what we have chosen, we were told that this is not COVID grounds, but more to minimize waste that is understandable. I chose three stacking chicken and mama for mixed grill that really a huge man size plate. it was nice, but she had to get a dog bag to take food she couldn't eat. I went for an apple and blackberry crumb, which was in order, but much too much sauce and not enough fragile to fit. it was a bit suppe like and left some of it after it had eaten broken part. I would just say that the cutlery needs a polish and glasses need to be cleaned properly. they look so cloudy and a little dirty. Moreover, it was a decent visit to harvester."
