"This was our first visit to this restaurant which is about 5 minutes walk from Chatham Station. There is a varied menu and plenty of vegetarian, fish and meat options. We had difficulty in making our choices, but the waitress made recommendations. The food was delicious and the portions were generous and it was excellent value. "We had not visited the Sitar for quite some time, that due only to our eating agenda not coinciding with their opening hours. Our visit last week gave us absolutely no room for complaint. The food was very good and the service complimented it. The presence of three members of staff who we knew from the days we used the Sitar on a regular basis, made the visit even more enjoyable. More so because they had not forgotten us. Would we recommend the Sitar to other diners? Undoubtedly Yes."

"Worst curry I have ever had!!!! The veggie Madras was a watery potato stew with a chilli thrown in for good luck and my partner’s chicken masala had no flavour with a lot of water! Even the saag aloo had no taste and way too much spinach; should have used some of the potatoes from the Madras to even it out! Don’t bother wasting your time or money wasn’t cheap and nowhere near value for money! What we didn’t eat (and there was a lot) has been thrown in the bin!!"

"Just had delivery through deliveroo. Just over £50 spent on a range of starters, sides and a main. Very quick delivery …. That’s about the only good thing to mention. Chicken Tikka main stuffed into the bag on its side resulting in half of the main being spilt over everything, this meant our vegetarian options being contaminated in the Tikka sauce. Poppadoms soggy and broken, again squashed into the bag. Mango chutney nice. Garlic mushrooms were still hot however everything else luke warm to say the least. Incredibly disappointing. Will not be using again."

"My mate Steve and I dined here for posterity last night- I had my first curry from here over 40 years ago. There used to be a huge fish tank at the entrance but this sadly is a thing of the past. Huge menu with lots of curries I’ve never heard of, but I went for the RC21-named by the owner after his son years ago apparently, and absolutely delicious. No draught beer due to wastage concerns during the pandemic, but bottled chilled Cobra went down well. The one down side which moved it from 5 to 4 stars sadly was that I ordered a vegetable paratha, having become hooked on these in Blackpool, but sadly a plain one arrived. The waiter hadn’t checked the food was satisfactory, so I got up and requested a vegetable one. One quickly arrived, but was quite disappointing as I think it contained a solitary pea. Hey ho. Excellent otherwise and not worthy of the dismal impression the takeaway side of the restaurant seems to generate. Go there for what promise to be some fascinating flavours. Ding dong. "

"This is one of my favourite curry houses in Solihull. Set in a lovely old building, the tables packed in so they can cater for large numbers but also spaced so they can also offer lots of 2’s and 4’s. The staff are really attentive and very efficient in getting your meal delivered in a timely manner. The menu is varied and there’s some really good specials including my favourite the Punjabi Murgh Massala. It’s quite essential to book but it’s easy to do via the website. Both Cobra and Kingfisher beers on tap."

"I am always hopful when trying a new place but this was a let down. The waiter didn't seem to know what was on the menu, or what is job was, and it was a major mission just to place our order. The noisy turbine extractor fan in the dining room sparked to life when smoke from the kitchen filled the room, doors were opened to help manage the smoke, it was not nice. The food was okay, the value was okay with the toptable deal, but without the deal forget it. The washroom experience was unplesant to say the least. Air freshener lined the wall. Chicken was defrosting unattended in a downstairs kitchen sink. Sorry but never again."

"We were in UK last summer and were visiting Edinburgh. I made a mistake and did not do any research of the area for any Indian Restaurants in case of any exigency. The exigency arrived in a way that, my four year would not want to eat anything but Indian food. "I took my adult son for brunch this month in April, as we wanted to see if the restaurant was dog-friendly since he has a new puppy. We also wanted to see if the food was as good as it used to be. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations on both counts. We both ordered a large breakfast, I am a pescatarian so I had a veggie breakfast while my son had a Full English. The mushrooms and tomatoes tasted like they were from cheaper suppliers, which was disappointing. I had visited this cafe about six years ago with my partner and it was amazing back then, easily the best cafe in that area of Wickham Road. However, both my son and I felt that it had declined in quality since then."

"I am surprised by the evaluation of this place to be honest. on the demand of some Indian food I have ordered here by vans. tried the aloo dum gravy, huhn tikka, wobble rings among many of their appetizers. my favorite here is the biryani. it is not the typical biryani that they get in India or elsewhere. it has a beautiful aroma and very gentle taste that loved me this place. "I order 2 pack of meal deals 1hun tikka masala, pilau reis and an extra simple naan I said it would be 1 hour and 30 minutes this was good, we waited for 2 hours and when it arrived the food. was cold and we had no soaking with our packings and there was a missing naan broth for the kids also no cries After we had read so many great reviews, we were looking forward to trying it, but tbh was it a let down that was bland and tasteless possibly the worst Indian food I have ever experienced and the service was just as bad. I just wish I had little indie with my ordinary Indian takeaway, which never fails. it cost me £35 for 2 packs 1 huhn tikka masala 2 bags of chips 1 pilau reis and popadoms. when I went to the menu and added the price of the food without the packs it on £16.40 meant that I paid almost £10 for the packs alone. I'm sorry, but that ruined mine at night, and I'm never gonna give it back to me."
