"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"The restaurant and staff were lovely. But your food let you down particularly the Vegan food We made sure the restaurant knew 3 of our party were Vegans, I phoned as well as detailed on booking The Vegan food was poor, The Vegan scones, broke into dust when you try to cut them, so uneatable There was no Vegan cream The other cakes were mostly inedible I think you have made the vegan and gluten free food together which is lazy and isn’t nice The price of £75 per head should have been of a higher standard When we asked for extra sandwiches although the server made us feel fine about this, two other staff did stand quite near to our table an discuss this loudly making some of my family feel uncomfortable We are disappointed, if we had not had Vegans you would have been over priced by passable"

"This was my second visit to Cafe Royal. The first time was about six months ago when my husband and I received a gift voucher for afternoon tea. We had the Jubilee afternoon tea and it was fantastic. We were very impressed with everything. This time, I went with three friends to celebrate their pregnancy. We had the regular afternoon tea. I was not as impressed this time. The staff was friendly and attentive, but there were some things I didn't like. Due to the pregnancy, we could only eat two out of the four sandwiches offered. The service was inconsistent, we had to ask for water and had trouble paying at the end of the meal. Despite the lack of busyness, we did not receive all the baked goods promised. However, the scones were delicious. It cost £80.50 per person without champagne, including service charge. It felt overpriced for what we received. The restaurant has a nice dining room, but the service and food were not up to standard, so I will not be returning."

"Everything about our experience was 5 stars! We arrived slightly earlier and were given a larger table which was better for chatting around, other than good food this was the reason for 4 of us to to out for dinner! The burgers were outstanding! The pie of the day, chicken and spicy chorizo, was laden as you cut into it. The pork belly with black pudding polenta and lobster bisque was treeee....mendous! ...and the rosemary and garlic fries were something else..... Mouth watering just writing this! The deserts were more than ample and a taste explosion. The waiter, 'Will ' was brilliant. He was so attentive without being overbearing as some places can be. He knew the food to explain exactly with you 'd receive and was spot on discussing the deserts. We watched him with other guest, he worked the floor with natural charm as ease. He needs to commended for the way he represented The Three Horse Shoes. The pub only takes card payments, so if you want to tip, take cash. There is a 10% service charge added to your bill so that may suffice for some of you. Can 't wait to return."

"one of my favorite places in east village and one of my favorite places for fish chips in Great Britain. tonight we tried a new starter of scallops, chorizo and sweet potato in a skill that was crazy. I always have to get the most praised bisque and the mint, pea and feta fritters. not much of them expected, but they are surprisingly fresh and great to share with friends. (two to three of us usually go and get a few starters and share a sequence of cod, chips and mushy peas. always a lot! the curry sauce is also a must, as everyone who told you. they also have some baked/grilled healthier options that look divine, but it is so hard not to go for traditional fish chips when they are there and get them this good oil smoke that only a good fish chip store can bring. this is also a great place to take Pop-Buy for a job; it is a smaller menu to take out, but all the bases are covered. long (sometimes tells story short, I eat more than I should and am (obvily enthusiastic that we have them in the east village!"

"Such a lovely way to start the New Year with a lunch visit to one of my favourite restaurants in London. The front desk provides a warm welcome though I wished that the “jacket tie” dress code for men had been sustained. A well-proportioned man was hovering at the front sporting an over-large zipped up windcheater and open neck shirt. Not at all smart so I hope he was apprehended before he entered the restaurant! What next? Baseball caps on the wrong way round? Back to the good old days of proper standards please. Thanks to ever helpful House Manager, Michael Stokes, we had a delightful table which provided ample screening for our business discussion and the service was discrete but always experienced and timely. The ambience continues to exude quiet luxury. I feel the Seasonal Menu is terrific value important in a tight and high tax economy) with 3-courses offered for £47.95. My starter choice of half a dozen Carlingford Irish Rock Oysters was superb. Freshly shucked mouthfuls of sweet salty pleasure with a contrasting red wine vinegar and onion dressing. Absolute heaven on a cold winter’s day. From there, I moved to the Carving Trolley and myriad slices of tender honey roasted gammon with creamy mashed potatoes. Spinach £7.00) and French Beans £6.50) were extra but worth it. Finally, we both had the gorgeous Bread Butter Pudding which was light, sweet and sitting in a moat of delicious custard. The wine list is imperious and impelling but not so easy to find a value for money midday measure. I opted for the Tuscan Le Volte Dell’ Ornellaia 2018 for £98.00 which drank well. Plenty of fruit flavour and not too heavy. Overall the bill was a meaty £274.16 for 2 with service now at 15% but this is a very special restaurant."

"Superb food and service. The standard wine flight with the tasting menu was £55 for 3 small amounts of reasonably good wine, which is very poor value. "my man and I saw the afternoon tea in savoy on google and when we arrived, we found that we wore casual clothes so that we didn't feel comfortable going in. we found the melba in the small load of the savoyen, which makes us very happy that we can taste some of their deserts. we had the celestial and creambule, both are perfect sweet, refreshing, and it was delicious. we took a star down because the first staff when we first came was not very friendly and treated us as invisible. but the second employees at least try to ask what we are looking for."

"Always a beautiful venue. We were greeted at the door. Had drinks and chatted on the sofas. We had a lovely round table which is perfect for conversation. The food was lovely. The staff put a candle on my mums dessert for her birthday which made it special. Our only complaint was that it was cold!! One of our guests actually stood up and stood by the radiator between courses. I appreciate that the restaurant had been closed for two days and it takes a while for the building to warm up ... but it spoilt what was otherwise a lovely meal !"

"I finally found a new restaurant serving seafood/fish at the moment. bentley's location, vibes, ambiente and employees are perfect. bentley’s is next to some famous chains like gaucho and veeraswamy. it is recommended to go there in a sunny day and have a space in the open. iss perfect! eating was excellent. the fried calamari was delicious and golden roasted. the garnels were so delicious because of this tasty taste. they want more and more. we have also decided to fish with monks, which was so delicious and delicate, but a bit chewing. I mean, they're monkfish we're talking about. it was so delicious. the seabass was perfectly grilled. bently is all about...read more"

"my man and I visited for what we thought would be a nice relaxing Sunday evening dinner in our neighbourship, as we live near. but we immediately regretted the decision. the restaurant was completely empty (and we should have left after we had seen that. it was cold inside and there was hardly personal. we ordered a bottle prosecco, which took quite a long time to arrive, and were charged £40 for a bottle canti that we suspected that they had ran and bought next to the tesco. booze is always highly marked, but at least have a brand on the hand where the customer does not know that it costs £8 at tesco. the waitress did not even pour the prosecco; she brought the bottle and we had to pour ourselves. the appetizers were well presented and tastefully. the nets (steak and lamb and sides were very average; my lamb was barely dreaming, which meant that I had to eat it quickly, so I didn't have to eat cold lamb. £220 for an average dinner with a bottle cheap super market prosecco (oh and £10 for a bottle of still water! is simply absurd. we eat in michelin star high-end restaurants quite regularly that costs £500 for two people, so this is no problem with price. I've never seen anything about food quality, environment, service, general experience. Avoid this crazy overpriced place with average life means!"

"3 michelin star lunch at @alainducasseatthedorchester London Thoughts Amuse Bouche The crackers and bread left a lot to be desired but the lobster and apple foam soup looking thing were tangy, refreshing and delicious. STARTERS The pumpkin tart was deconstructed on the plate. Personally I found there was too much pastry for the toppings available. The three way wild mushrooms was definitely the favourite out of the two. There is something about the way a fantastic chef can make mushrooms turn awesome. In terms of experience we were a bit shocked how many times we had been up sold something by this early point. It’s not something we have been accustomed to before unless other establishments are just more suave about it. MAINS The salmon and turnip was incredible as was the duck and celeriac. We were expecting the usual story telling to come in by now that highlighted something special about the food but it didn’t come. DESSERT Apple tarte tartin now I’m a huge apple dessert fan. Like HUGE. So this was suppose to be an easy win. Unfortunately, I found it uninspiring. Give me a @humblecrumblelondon any day of the week. The chestnut Mont Blanc was a lot nicer but once again not great. The freebies we got at the end of the chocolates and little tarts and profiteroles were all exceptional. It was great to know they had a chocolate shop as they were really good. Especially the coconut one. THE EXPERIENCE To me a Michelin star experience is so much more then exceptionally cooked food. It is the story, the art of it. It’s spending hours in a beautiful place sampling a beautiful food story. The venue was stunning, the atmosphere was a bit too pretentious for my liking and between the upsells and lack of narrative. The money couldn’t be justified on this. Delicious food, yes. But, the experience is usually so much more."

"The openly formulated menu (e.g. veal, pea, capers, radishes, bacon) does not reveal the preparation and quantity distribution in which the dish will be served. Although this is "modern" at the moment, it may make the decision to visit the restaurant more difficult"

"We visited with our son and his French girlfriend for a pre Christmas dinner. They are both major foodies so I was hoping the good reviews were true but I think we all have a new favourite restaurant in Rye! The service was excellent; very friendly but well informed. The restaurant is unfussy but charming and we started with cocktails which I’d recommend. The menu is wonderful, offering the freshest ingredients and delicious food. Presentation of the food was excellent and the taste was superb. The chef is very creative but sticks with a smaller menu which I prefer. I wish I’d taken more photos but I was distracted and forgot. The whole experience was great and we will definitely be back soon."

"If you are a gin lover and like smoked meats you need come here! Having prebooked a table we were taken up stairs and provided a menu. Luckily we were sat right under the specials board from that I instantly chose the fried haggis and then a ox cheek dish to follow. I also decided to sample a fire side cocktail which packed a punch of tequila. The fried haggis was sublime with it poached egg and was the perfect amount for a starter. Cream spinach was ordered to accompany my ox cheeks which turned out to be so tender! However it was so rich with the red wine sauce and mash that i struggled to finish. To complete the meal I opened the gin menu which was extensive. My friend had one that changed colour where I got a sake based one. Each one was carefully presented with delicate fruits .. Overall a very lovely place and a must to attend to in St Ives"

"Can highly recommend the Sunday roasts here. but be aware it is a limited menu on a Sunday. Plentiful portions with a great selection of fresh vegetables and well cooked meat. Enjoyable desserts too! Shame only black or white coffee...would have loved to finish with a cappuccino! Overall, good value. The pub was very quiet when we visited; the atmosphere could have been improved by some background music. Will go back if in that area again as it is a lovely traditional pub with a spacious conservatory restaurant and lovely bar area. Just one other suggestion please add your new telephone number to your website which at present is incorrect I tried calling several times and it said invalid number. Thanks to someone who lives in the village we were given an alternative number to tryotherwise I wouldn't have eaten there!! Vegetarian options: Sunday roasts have a vegetarian option of Mediterranean vegetable flan which my friend enjoyed. A plentiful portion too! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Sunday Roast Beef, Eton Mess, Cauliflower Cheese"

"The waitress who took our order was great. The one who came to take our plates away didn't say anything, smile or make eye contact. I mentioned it to my husband and I think the original waitress overheard as she disappeared and shortly after, the second one came back with a smile and offered the dessert menu. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We couldn't believe it when the staff started to do a deep clean of the furniture, dragging chairs out etc. Surely this should be done when there are no customers? The food was excellent though."

"Dine in with friends. The seafood spaghetti and the cod with crab are tasty. However, the service is really bad. -The waiter pour the wine out and made table and pram were wet. -We’ve checked several times with waiters about the main course status because our friends are almost finished their meals) but no any response. Just said they will check but no any update from them. -We waiting for the sides until we finished the main course. We asked 3 times with different waiters and no any response from them until the last asking. The lady said they’ve combined our sides to other friends’ portion. It’s ridiculous. No one tell us that they will combined the sides! And we waited for long time for such stupid things. -Wrong billing I’m so disappointed with the mess services. Will not go again. Response to restaurants reply: It’s shame. May be my reviews make you feeling not good. BUT all my reviews are true! Yes, we booked a table for 12 people but 4 kids and 1 baby included. Thus, we ordered 7 main courses with starters desserts for 7 adults and 1 kids meal and wine. I’m feeling sorry for 2 kids running around our table and we did stopped them once you told us. And I appreciated the lady with black clothes who helping us carried the pram upstairs. She was very kind and helpful. However, the staff who mainly serving our table was not very good. She pour the wine out on the table and the baby pram when she collecting the empty wine cup. For the wrong billing Yes, the first bill was £191 that’s lower then the actual bill. We found it wrong and reported it to restaurant even it’s lower price because that’s not what we ordered. And the 2nd bill was wrong again which was overcharged until the 3rd bill. Actually, not only the mess dish arrangement, one of the main course was not correct but we tried to make it simply and just finished it without any complaints. For the dish arrangement and no any updates response from the staff after we asked, really disappointed. What I feeling? I’m wasted my time for waiting because of the poor arrangement. I keep waiting and asking and get no response whole night. And my kid and I feeling very hungry. Because I still waiting my main course and the side. I was wait for whole dinner, my friends almost finished their meals but I’m still waiting. No any reply after asking, just said they will check until our last asking. Throughout the meal no one asked if the food was ok. Made us feel unwelcome. If anyone asked, may be the things will not become that bad."
