"Visiting the Orrery was a once in a lifetime experience (for myself and my partner), and it took a discount voucher on top of another offer so that we could afford it! The staff are excellent. From when we arrived to when we left, they could not have been more attentive and informative and worked hard to make it a special occasion. We had the five course taster menu, and when they realised it was through a voucher the menu was taken from us to be replaced by an A5 piece of paper with the menu on which actually had the name of the discount voucher on it. Hey everyone, look at us, we 've not got the big menu. We have a piece of paper because we are not paying full price. Of the five courses, only the dessert stands out elderflower pannacota with strawberry jelly, a real treat. The slithers of cheese with minute crackers were excellent. The beef should have been the highlight but unfortunately failed to live up to expectation. We enjoyed and appreciated the commentary given with each wine course. Again, we can not fault the staff. The techniques on each course demonstrated the skills of the chef. Unfortunately, the flavours did not match the obvious talent. It may have been that our expectations were too high. Other guests were certainly enjoying their meals."

"Just returned from a lovely few days at Titchwell Manor. We booked a last minute 3 nights break as the weather looked promising. We booked over the phone as we took our well behaved dog with us. Although it’s at the higher end of what we normally pay we felt it was worth it. We stayed in room 24 in the courtyard, it opened up on to the rear gardens which were beautiful. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and welcoming. There was only a bath and hand held shower, we wouldn’t normally book a room without a walk in shower but we only booked a few days before. The breakfast was outstanding, great quality and variety on the buffet table in particular. Lovely hot food, nothing too much trouble. The staff were all friendly and courteous, all very kind to our dog. We had to eat in the Bistro as this is the only dog friendly restaurant, not a problem for us. The evening meal has a smaller menu but focuses on quality. We enjoyed everything we ate. The only negative for us is there’s nowhere to safely walk your dog in an evening. The hotel is directly on the busy roadside. It wouldn’t deter us from staying again, just something to beat in mind. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic"

"The team at Salt Marsh Kitchen were super helpful. We were looking for somewhere to take out food from (as we were travelling with our dog that served good quality sea food and the gentleman we spoke to checked in with us and gave us an updated menu via facebook. We called on the day to order, and it was ready in 20-30 minutes. The restaurant looks lovely inside and has a nice selection of local gins and whiskeys. We had some local cider which was delicious. The paella was everything I wanted it to be. Really generous portions and full of flavour. My partner had the fish and chips which he said were great (peas not photographed as he doesn't eat them, so more for me! . It all travelled really well back to our campsite outside Aberdyfi. The puddings were amazing too and I'll be dreaming of that coconut panacotta for a long time. Thanks so much! Will definitely visit again when we're back this way!"

"Went to vita Bella today night with the wife due to not visiting for a while and felt we needed a treat. As always upon arrival we were met by the parking attendant who showed us where to park. Once inside a warm welcome from staff and then given the choice of being seated in the main restaurant or sitting next to the garden room, wife chose the latter. Once seated menus supplied and drink order taken. Plenty to choose from so took us a while to pick what to have lots looked good. I started with the scallops which were perfectly cooked, I was able to cut them with my spoon that’s how spot on they were. Now on to mains, I went for the veal with spaghetti again this was lovely, the spaghetti was cooked perfectly, not under cooked nor over cooked, and the bolognese was lovely, great flavour you could taste the meat not a load of tomato sauce here. My wife had the pork belly as this is one of her favorites here she always enjoys it and tonight was no different. Again the side of vegetables that accompanied my wife’s main were perfectly cooked and tasted lovely I know as I had some (can’t not as they are always perfect in flavour). We both fitted in a dessert tonight, my wife had apple pie which she said was lovely, I went for Coffee semifreddo which I’ve never had before as I’m not a big fan of desert and can normally take it or leave it but tonight I liked the sound of this one, again this didn’t disappoint if you like coffee and chocolate this is a must it was heavenly. To finish off when it came to getting the bill we were offered a completely drink and mints which was a lovely end to a perfect meal out."

"Booked for 3 nights over Burghley Horse Trials weekend. Waited 1 hour 15 minutes to be receive our breakfast on the first morning. The girl working wasn't coping well, despite it wasn't busy. Other people were also unhappy. Breakfast was lovely when it finally arrived. Pre ordered the following day, as didn't want that wait again. Lady serving was much more orderly and again breakfast was lovely. Tried to pre order for Sunday morning only to be told the kitchen didn't open until 9am on a Sunday, despite the info board saying 8am. Disappointing. Had dinner on the Saturday night and service was very slow. Kettle stopped working, was given one with quite a bit of grit inside. Tea/coffee/milk was replenished and the person I asked was very nice, but didn't know where they were kept. Such a shame, we have stayed here many times pre 2019 for Burghley as great location, and previous people were fantastic. Unfortunately wouldn't come back to stay or eat. Have emailed prior to leaving this review and a member of staff responded saying they would pass the information on to the owner, but no response from the owner."

"very welcome to the arrival and shown in the small bar. sad to see that the evening menu does not include homemade cheese, brote and ice creams listed on the sample menu online. regardless of which there was still a large selection. started with lobster bisque delicious, but I would like to have offered a few crusty brot with it. serve my man had a lot more grief in it than mine, who had hardly anything. I thought it was probably overpriced. we had both the famous stacked fish “pee” for our main course and it was delicious. the scallops were some of the best I've ever eaten. it was served with parmenting potatoes and a sapphire salad. the salat was really very good, but not really working with the fish dish for me. the choice of mini desserts was good that we divided five and they were all beautiful. Coffee was also good, but I didn't know that the espresso would come into a pot and ordered a double as I usually. gallon coffee! the total bill was £165 including our drinks in the bar and a delicious bottle of wine I thought was about right. all employees were really nice, but a special mention to jeanette both for their wee recommendation and for their customer service skills. she created a situation with a few demanding people who sit close to us exceptionally well. most diners were in the mature group, including us! I'm not sure if I would take my 30-year-old daughter here, although she would love to eat that, it's a pretty old fashion place. we would definitely go back."

"Last night I was treated to the tasting menu and wine flight. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect, the atmosphere, the background music to the attentive, friendly and professional staff. We then met the sommelier, who did an incredible job of pairing the wines perfectly with each of the courses. I have never experienced a meal where every mouthful was sublime and each course beat that previously tasted. I could never have anticipated how simply incredible the food was and also the wines! A special thank you to Pablo and Maise and of course to Pete for making me feeling really special and taking me for such a wonderful experience."

"We had originally made a reservation at a different Italian restaurant for dinner, but while walking around, we stumbled upon Prima. After checking out their menu, we decided to cancel our reservation and dine here instead. We each enjoyed a main course and a bottle of wine, both of which were delicious. I ordered clams and wished there had been a bowl for the empty shells instead of placing them on the tablecloth. A finger bowl would have been useful as well. Despite these minor issues, the service was overall very good. The atmosphere was excellent and we were surprised at how busy it was for a Monday evening. The prices were reasonable and we would definitely dine here again if we visit Ripon in the future."

"I’ve lived a 4 min drive from this place for nearly 2 years and had never been in as the vegan options were very limited but that is only at first glance! The chef loves to be creative, asking likes and dislikes then prepares the most delicious food! This is like no other food in the areahis attention to detail, flavour combinations and passion for what he does is outstanding! The staff team are equally amazing. Our server, Susan, was very passionate about us enjoying our whole experience. We’re already planning our next visit! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian visible on the menu. Vegan is cooked to order."

"Everything about our experience was 5 stars! We arrived slightly earlier and were given a larger table which was better for chatting around, other than good food this was the reason for 4 of us to to out for dinner! The burgers were outstanding! The pie of the day, chicken and spicy chorizo, was laden as you cut into it. The pork belly with black pudding polenta and lobster bisque was treeee....mendous! ...and the rosemary and garlic fries were something else..... Mouth watering just writing this! The deserts were more than ample and a taste explosion. The waiter, 'Will ' was brilliant. He was so attentive without being overbearing as some places can be. He knew the food to explain exactly with you 'd receive and was spot on discussing the deserts. We watched him with other guest, he worked the floor with natural charm as ease. He needs to commended for the way he represented The Three Horse Shoes. The pub only takes card payments, so if you want to tip, take cash. There is a 10% service charge added to your bill so that may suffice for some of you. Can 't wait to return."

"Very enjoyable evening here. Six course tasting menu, the outstanding ones for us were deliciously intense mushroom and mustard soup ;fabulous fresh, citrussy tuna ceviche on lip smacking garlic and chilli guacamole ; superb gambas on paella with belly pork. Accompanied by smooth and easy drinking Rioja, also offering white or rose, Estrella for beer drinkers. All the diners around us appeared to be having an equally good time. Very reasonable value for such high quality."

"This was our first visit to The Bay Tree. We were impressed by the ambience of the place. The food was amazing and worth the expense for the quality of the ingredients. However a few things spoiled the experience: 1. In common with other restaurants you haven't got your bottom on the seat before someone comes to take drinks. 2. Four out of Five of us had finished our starter before the 5th person got theirs. 3. Service was VERY slow, we don't like it to be too quick but this was painfully slow. 4. We tried to order a second bottle of wine and the waiter who brought the wine list never came back to take the order. 5. I object strongly to restaurants automatically including 10% service charge, I know this is voluntary but it is embarrassing to have to ask for it to be removed. I don't object to tipping, in fact there are times when my tip would have been greater than the service charge. If service was poor like tonight I don't want to pay for it. Service charge (or tipping) should be for GOOD service. Would I go again DEFINATELY but being prepared for a slow not quite perfect experience. Dietary restrictions: They were very obliging with our daughter who is on a Gluten Free diet. Parking: There is a free car park behind the buildings on the other side of the High Street but the entrance is round the corner on the right heading out of town with the Bay Tree on your left. There is however a very handy little alley way which leads from the car park almost directly opposite the restaurant."

"We ordered takeaway, which is usually quite good, but tonight we were disappointed. We ordered a pasta dish that was advertised to have "steak strips," but when it arrived, it contained only about five tiny cubes of steak. To make matters worse, they also forgot one of our portions of chips. Every other experience we've had has been great, but tonight was not acceptable. Service was delivery."

"Visited today for lunch and overall it was a poor and vastly overpriced experience. We had to wait a long time to be seated but that would be expected in a particularly busy service (it was averagely busy). The staff were grumpy staff and seemed to lack any motivation. The food was barely average, I ordered a roast vegetable pizza but the vegetable toppings were barely cooked at all; my partner had a chicken burger which was fine but overpriced for what it was. The pizza came from a different kitchen to the burger so arrived at different times (this is fine but no one thought to tell us this when we ordered). It took an age to catch someone 's eye to get the bill and then a further 10 15mins for someone to bring it and pay. No one in this time offered to take our plates, or ask us if we wanted anything else or even how our meal was. The tip is also automatically added to the receipt so I had to ask not to pay it. Not worth the £38.75 our meal and drinks cost in total. AVOID unless you want overpriced food and poor service at a beach location."

"After days of waiting to get a seat in there, I was amused by the high quality food and astounding service. Before jumping into the review, a huge shoutout for our waitress Ellie for being so kind, funny and lovely. For the food, appetisers were ravioli, burrata, fried shrimp and rocket salad. All were soooo good especially the fried shrimp(so crispy #dying). For mains we ordered the US sirloin and US fillet which both were so tender and tasty. The goodman burger was so good as well but I didn 't like the fries that came with it. The mac and cheese was delicious but was a bit heavy. For desserts, we ordered tiramisu which so full of coffe, my mouth was dry after that. I didn 't like the tiramisu tbh. The cookie sundae , on the other hand, was quite the thing, it was delicious."

"We had a table booked for a late lunch on a Sunday and were disappointed there was no roast option on the Specials board. The food we did have was excellent and it’s a great family and dog friendly pub restaurant in a wonderful setting. Service was very slow and lacking any sort of interest or attention when we visited the place seemed to be staffed with a bunch of half asleep teenagers. Maybe things will pick up once we are into the busier season!"

"We had a wonderful dinner at The Silver Darling. Delicious food and wonderful service! The mussel mariniere main was probably the best we've had and an absolutely huge portion of tasty mussels in a delicious sauce with crispy, salty French fries! The strawberry tasting plate dessert was the perfect summer dessert and a lovely way to end your meal! It was fresh, light sweet and definitely hits the spot! The service was wonderful, we booked and asked for a nice view for a special occasion and boy did we get just that! Stunning scenes of the ocean and beachfront. Our waitress was lovely, very attentive and friendly. We also found the pricing fair for the amount and quality of the food! Would highly recommend The Silver Darling!"

"Thieves !! Deplorable experience. I order pork belly. The song arrives. I taste a small slice. It seems very oily to me in the mouth. I mean brisket is a fatty piece but also not composed entirely of fat, I know it well from eating and cooking it regularly. I open the piece to remove a little fat and I realize that there is actually only fat! I pointed this out to the waiter who, after an exchange with the cook, accused us of lying and of having eaten all the meat! He refuses to exchange the piece with us. We left and finished our meal at another establishment. During our stay, we were able to taste other, much better pork belly. This dishonest restaurant should be avoided. The taste was correct without being incredible, yielding in particular to ease: a lot of sugar, salt, which reveals poor control."

"First 5 star hotel without minibar and no daily water refill. Third night and we got only two small bottles of still water. Breakfast... Extremely on a slow side and you have to book it. What?! Michelin restaurant is okay, the tasting menu does have interesting positions but it comes with 7x markup on wine list. Absolute madness, like second wine of montrose for like 180 pounds. The second michelin (sister restaurant) castle in is 100% to avoid. You will wait one hour for your venison that is 3 sashimi style pieces that weigh 60 grams. Food to share doesn 't come with plates. Feels like you are just being fed. Saint emilion wine is served warm like your afternoon tea. Beautiful scenary, otherwise, but will never ever come back or recommend it. Can 't wait to leave tomorrow."
