"We ordered the sharing roast for 5 people, £28pp which we at first thought was a little bit steep, but when the food comes out and you see how much you get, and the flavours … it is so worth it. Other roast options are also available and would be equally as delicious. The food is to die for, so much that we are taking home 3 tubs of leftovers! The meat is melt in your mouth, you get pork belly, beef done medium and chicken with crispy skin. Yorkshire puddings which are clearly made fresh as well as fluffy roast potatoes. Tons of veg, roasted and chantenay carrots, kale, parsnips, cabbage, and lots of it too. My personal favourite was the cauliflower cheese, absolutely ****** amazing…. You rarely get enough gravy when you go out for a roast, but this came with two full additional boats of hot gravy, which was clearly reduced down for hours! Best roast I have ever had, 1000% coming back!!"

The most amazing turkey dinner with all the trimmings that I’ve ever had! It was lush. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Fantastic food and excellent service! Can’t fault this restaurant we go there regularly and have never had a bad meal. The standard of ingredients, the diversity of the menu, and the consistently excellent customer service honestly it’s an exceptional place.

Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Definitely would recommend the Christmas dinner. The new owners are very attentive and give great service. I have been 3 times and every time had a difference meal and every time the meal has been excellent. Really good quality food at a reasonable price.

This is our local, and it gets better and better. The owners are very friendly and we always have a good laugh. Richard the chef produces some of the best food I’ve had. Always happy to chat and often comes to make sure everything is okay. The seafood at the weekend was amazing. Sunday roast are too notch. This is a great place to just come and enjoy a beer or 2! We visiting for lunch on Saturday and had a choice of a brunch menu (served all day) or a varied lunch menu. Plenty of choice from light bites to traditional pub fayre. Everything was reasonably priced too and a good selection of wines, beers and drinks. The interior of the pub is very welcoming with seating to the front as well as a large garden to the rear. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Lovely place nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly and pleasant throughout. Good selection of drinks to chose from. We ordered the beer battered fish on a bed of crushed peas and tartar sauce with chunky chips . Fish nice and tasty. With a plaice cooked in butter with capers, new potatoes and broccoli stems again cooked to perfection. (See pictures) would we come back? Yep booked again on the way out to return with friends.

Not a very busy lunch time service. Sorry I could not give a 5 rating this time. The food was still very good and looked fine of fish and chips and a chicken and mushroom pie. The pie looked good but was bland with little taste. Why do you server a rich red meat gravy with chicken pie. Plenty of liquid in the pie. The restaurant was cold and no birthday wishes given even if Included on the in the booking form . Why ask if you do not take any notice. View menu

We live in Cambridgeshire, and chose White Pheasant, Fordham (first time) here to celebrate my birthday with friends. We couldn’t have picked a better place to dine in the area. Excellent food at reasonable cost. I had my favourite sticky toffee pudding for dessert and must say it was the best I’ve ever tasted. From the starter to the dessert it was mouth watering. Staff were very friendly and even the chef came out to ask how the meal was. This was the only way to end my birthday celebrations. Thank you to all staff.

Family birthday meal out with Family to this very beautiful pub. A roaring open fire and friendly staff greeted us on arrival. There was plenty to choose from on the menu (but not too much) The food was phenomenal. With a fussy husband I always worry if he will find anything but he was spoilt for choice. Good traditional food but on another Level! I cannot recommend The White Pheasant highly enough. The Sausage and Mash, Traditional Turkey and Braised Blade of Beef were a big hit on the table but the Gingerbread Cheese cake for me was the star of the show. All finished off with one of the nicest coffees I've had when out. Can't wait to try the breakfast and dinner menu soon.

"My friend kindly decided to take me another friend along to this her local pub for Xmas lunch on the 12th of December which we were all looking forward too, as we have eaten there before. Unfortunately on entering the pub it seemed quite cold as there was no open fire lite when we asked they told us they had run out of kindling, so we kept out coats on for sometime until we all warmed up. Then when we kindly asked for the menu unfortunately they had none of these as apparently they had ran out of ink for there printer so we then had to look at there written board on the wall, which had fish chips added to it. We were then told by the waitress they had no chips lol but you can have potatoes, unbelievable for a pub to run out of chips. When our meals arrived it was quite disappointing for a Christmas dinner the Yorkshire pud was completely flat, but you did get vegetables served separately which were quite a good variety even though there wasn’t lots. We then went onto order our deserts Once again to add disappointment they didn’t have any crème brûlée so the choice was just Xmas pud with brandy butter or ice cream. So one of my friends could only have ice cream as she’s gluten free who always fancies that on a cold day, me my other friend had the Xmas pud that was served in a pie dish which was not very appealing or professional looking it was served with custard not the brandy butter like the menu said. We did complain as my friends Xmas pud was also lukewarm they did kindly apologise warm it up. Because we complained they did take some of our bill. But I don’t think we will be visiting again anytime soon."
