"we are a group of friends who meet every other month an eating club for good eating and good company. as usual, this restaurant has not disappointed in wise. they have kept the price down and the service levels are very good...Staff members very friendly and attentive and professional. we ate from the set course menu and had several different elements of start, netzen and sweets. the appetizers, among them smoked salmon and prosciutto ham, were very generous portions, all the main thing came together and were served piping hot and the deserts all very well. Drinks are not too expensive and the owner was in participation to chat all the tables and ask what our opinions of the meal. this will become one of our regular visits in the future. the only very small side was the young couple who stood up with a baby on pm and it was going not to stop for ten minutes. bad little thing should have been home in bed."

"we came in, sat at the table at the window behind the main entrance, and then started the fun. we ordered a starter, garlic brot with mozzarella. then, for the main course, we had an amazing tasty and for baked chicken breast to die that came with rocket salad, parmesan, creamy white sauce, and some tagliolini. for the desert we had sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and spiced honey panna cotta that saw and tasted amazing. I can't express how amazing the service was. I'd rate 10/10 if I could. we sat around 17:05 (ish) and had our ancestors about ten or 15 minutes later. shortly after we had our head. we were almost two hours there and enjoyed every second of it. many thanks that they make our first trip to the lake district, fulfill and welcome. I will definitely come back and recommend everyone I know."

"I enjoyed my pasta with vegetables. But my wife got sick from the mussels in hers. I would recommend this restaurant if you stay away from seafood, but I find it unforgivable that they would serve food that should have been thrown away instead (or washed better? . The whole dish had the taste of the bad mussels (those with the shell so she couldn't eat the pasta either. We told the waiter and we didn't have to pay for the dish, but that doesn't change the fact that my wife and her stomach were both very upset the whole evening after that. Thanks for ruining that evening for us"

"We had originally made a reservation at a different Italian restaurant for dinner, but while walking around, we stumbled upon Prima. After checking out their menu, we decided to cancel our reservation and dine here instead. We each enjoyed a main course and a bottle of wine, both of which were delicious. I ordered clams and wished there had been a bowl for the empty shells instead of placing them on the tablecloth. A finger bowl would have been useful as well. Despite these minor issues, the service was overall very good. The atmosphere was excellent and we were surprised at how busy it was for a Monday evening. The prices were reasonable and we would definitely dine here again if we visit Ripon in the future."

"This restaurant in Eastbourne is truly exceptional. We started with delicious Oysters Scallops and the Dover Sole, one of their specialty dishes, for mains. The ice cream with meringue center, two shots poured over coffee, and a liquor were all fantastic too. We returned the next day for lunch and enjoyed pasta dishes, with mine being off-menu but happily accommodated by the proprietor. The house wine we had on our second visit was also very good. The staff at this restaurant are clearly dedicated to providing exceptional service, and we were pleasantly surprised by the improvements made since the previous management. Overall, this restaurant exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it."

"Update Mothers Day 24 Took my mother today for a treat and she enjoyed it. Not cramped at all and very friendly staff. Not a cheap meal but very nice. I like the food here and it is very popular so book if you can! At times I have felt a little cramped as they don't like to turn people away and if can get very hot, it is a very old building! Good location, staff friendly but can be a little slow on busy nights (to be expected really) I would recommend eating here but as I say book ahead!"

"We ordered a garl8c bread starter to share, with two min courses to follow. The main courses arrived fairly quick, with the starter course following! We agreed to rake them both together, however, the garlic bread was undercooked, so we asked for it to be reheated. We did received a replacement 15 or so minutes later, but to be honest, it was only slightly better than the first one. We ate what we could, bit left the majority of it, which was just a slippy mess. The main courses were excellent however, steaming hot, and full of prawns. It salvaged the experience fprnus."

"I never usually leave reviews, but I feel particularly motivated after my experience at villa marina. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and chorizo paella and I ordered pizza. Unfortunately the chicken in the paella wasn’t right, it was crunchy chewy and rubbery. It was inedible. I told the waitress that it wasn’t right and asked if it had been cooked properly, I was told that that is how the chicken is, if it wasn’t cooked it would be pink and I should Google it. She did offer to give us another paella meal, but she said it would be the same as that is what the chicken is like. She was very defensive and unapologetic which lead us to leave it and just not eat the chicken as we did not want to get ill. They did knock £6 off the £16 charge for the paella, however I feel this is not good enough and felt compelled to write a review due to the way that the situation was handled as it made the atmosphere very awkward and ruined our meal. The pizza and wine was nice though."

"Burn Appetito clearly has a captive audience in the village of Wolsingham as there is little competition in terms of eating establishments, so I was hoping to be impressed on my second visit as hadn’t been on my first visit. Once again totally disappointed. In most Italian establishments you receive a little bread, olive oil, just something, definitely not here. The wine range was incredibly limited so we chose a decent red, rather expensive. The starters took an age to arrive and I had ordered tomato and basil soup and it came with a 2 inch piece of toasted bread and was hugely disappointing. My partner ordered the special lobster ravioli starter and it was the weirdest tasting dish. The main course I hoped would be better…… my partner ordered fillet steak with prawns and at nearly £35 a dish hoping to be blown away. Imagine the surprise when it arrived with mediocre chips, not one vegetable or pice of garnish in sight and just the steak and 3 prawns! Wow, definitely not wow! I had cannelloni and can safely say it was the worst offering I’ve ever had in an Italian restaurant. It was swimming in what looked like tomato soup and the actual mince was grey. Needless to say I sent it back and ordered a pizza. The experience could be so much better and the shame is for an Italian they didn’t even have proper red wine glasses. We definitely won’t be back unless they have a radical rethink. Only saving Grace is the staff are lovely."

"Went there for my birthday with my partner having walked past previously and noticed that it was a lively place. Reasonable selection of pastas and pizzas although mains were a bit pricier. I had scallops with chorizo starter, my partner had mushrooms with mascarpone on a brioche and we both had the roast lamb with ratatouille and rosemary potatoes. Food was presented nicely and the lamb and potatoes were lovely. Service was attentive until we realised why- The place really filled up with quite a lot of groups and they wanted our table, so they rushed us through our main course and as soon as I put my knife and fork down, they asked us to move tables to make room for a group. This was bad form and really quite rude! We grudgingly moved, after which they completely ignored us! After that treatment we decided not to have dessert and asked for the bill (no apology and still no eye contact). Left feeling slightly disappointed that they had spoilt the evening, only to then have a bout of food poisoning! I blame the scallops! So stay away from the seafood! Its probably fine if you're in a group, but you don't quite get the same level of service if you are just a couple!"

"I was recommended this place via the Michelin guide and the experience itself was quite good. I think the overall experience would improve definitiw if the weather was better than it was 30° c and there was no air conditioning at all. we sat up and we thought it was cooler, but we incubated the whole meal in the sun. we all have a 2 cursor meal with two sides. in the attached pictures they see that we selected the appetizers, soy marinated salmon, chicken parfait and lobster ravio. for the net we have chosen, chicken breast, salmon fillet and the bark wellington. the appetizers all had a pretty strong salt taste on them that we might not be that earlier, but the main were absolutely delicious. we had a bad experience with the lobster raviolo when we found several dishes. the chicken breast was tender and nicely cooked, the salmon was juicy and the pure compliment it was good, the bark meat gutington had honestly so good taste only by itself without the pure, but with it it added it was phenomenal. another thing we have noticed is that the online menu is actually different from the menu we have seen in the restaurant so that the online version will probably need an update so that people can preview what they can order."

"It's always a pleasure to visit this restaurant. We've been eating here for more than twenty years and the service is always polite and friendly. Most importantly, the quality of the food is consistently excellent. In more recent years, there has been a focus on the presentation of the food and the decor of the building. Somehow, the cost of a meal is still very reasonable. It's always a joy to visit and, once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal this weekend. It reminded me that we should visit more often. Thank you to all the staff who work very hard to ensure Franco's remains the best restaurant in town. Don't miss out!"

"Highly recommend The Ship. My Husband and I haven't been to the restaurant in awhile and we were happy we tried it again. We dined at the restaurant after attending a wake on Tuesday night and were shocked at the inexpensive prices for dinner for 2 it included a bottle of wine, salad, entrée and dessert all for $40.00. More importantly, the food was very good and we plan to dine there in the future."

"We have been meaning to try this place for years and finally got around to a last minute visit at the weekend. The restaurant is small and very busy so I'd recommend booking well ahead of time. The food is really very good. The goats cheese starter on the specials menu was divine and I would also recommend the pasta dishes. The cheese garlic bread was OK but I prefer more cheese. The tiramasu and nutella dessert were both great. The service was very attentive. We were regularly asked if everything was OK and if we would like more drinks. Will definitely return."
"I’ve been here before and been given the old waffle about them liking tips in cash but now they actually print on the bill “service charge not included. Gratuities cannot be left on credit or debit cards as 100% of tips are shared between staff” I eat out a lot at all types of restaurant I’ve literally never ever had a bill like this with this wording insisting on cash tips Since covid I just don’t carry cash and I would imagine many people do the same All other restaurants I have been to without exception either add a service charge or allow a tip/gratuity to be added to the bill and in both cases the total bill can be paid for by credit or debit card These restaurants all then split the tip/gratuity between the staff by including their share in their wages which then ensures that tax is paid on the tips/gratuity as the law requires so this still ensures that “100% of tips are shared between staff” as the bill wishes The tip/gratuity if paid in cash like at this restaurant still needs to be declared to HMRC and I assume the staff/restaurant do this The advantage of allowing the tip/gratuity to be paid by credit or debit card is that this separate disclosure to HMRC is not required as it is dealt with through the businesses payroll system and tax applied accordingly"

"We came here for a family meal. It's my second visit to Ciao in the last couple pt months. I won't be going there again and there are my reasons why: -I ordered vegetable pasta for main. It was cold, undercooked and lacked a lot of flavour. I'm just shocked that an Italian restaurant cannot get a simple dish right. -During my previous visit, I ordered vegetarian pizza. The base was soggy. There was too much cheese and the vegetables were wet like they were out of a jar. Very disappointing. -One person was left waiting for their meal to arrive. So ours arrived and his arrived 20 minutes later and still, it hadn't fully arrived as it was missing the dry tasteless vegetables. -We ordered hot drinks. They arrived late and were luke warm. -It's busy I get it but don't have a restaurant if you can't deliver to standards. Ciao Ciao!"

"I love my time here. I was treated for him by my friend after a day of work. The staff was friendly and could not be more attentive. Especially the young waiter with a long fringe and black shirt and the young blond waitress. The food was delicious. Especially my main meal. I had the sea bass with butter, lemon and capers. It came with a side of veg and potatoes. They asked if I agreed, so I thought I could have asked for chips instead. But I didn't. The sides and the entire meal portion wad exactly the correct amount. I also had the lemon cheese cake that was divine. I'd come back to Deffinatley. Right Italian cuisine best. All employees have a good report with countless customers."

"Lasagna was dry as though it was frozen, microwave defrosted and grilled at the end. £2.95 small glass of coke. Music too loud and not relevant to an Italian restaurant. Had to place order 3 days in advance. Limited parking, so have to park on the street inbetween peoples driveways. They seem to have 3 buckets of base sauces used to top steaks and mix into pastas. This is why we don’t eat out anymore."

"Don’t know what’s happened to Zucca but it’s not the restaurant it used to be. Sat next to the bar where the waitress was clattering everything about, doesn’t make for a relaxing evening. When you charge £34 for a fillet steak you would expect it to be top notch but instead it was chewy and not a good cut of beef. Truffle and Parmesan fries had to ask for Parmesan to sprinkle over them!! Arrabbiata was passable but have had better elsewhere. Deserts cheesecake, couldn’t get the spoon through the base, described as vanilla and honeycomb flavour but tasteless, really poor. Pineapple carpaccio with the panna cotta should be thin not chunks, think they desperately need a pastry chef. Staff disengaged! Overpriced mediocrity!"
