"I really wanted to like this, we were bought the tasting menu as a gift, and waited for a special occasion to use it. Unfortunately this was sub standard. I would not recommend for the price. Good points interesting use of seafood, never had a sea bream chaat before, and in all fairness this dish was the best we had. wine pairings were successful flexing between both white and red wines from Europe staff were attentive, although a bit quick to turnover courses door staff were lovely presentation of all the food was better than the taste Negatives decor overall felt dated and old fashioned food was largely bland over spiced and not enough flavour. Actually left my main meal of sole kebab as was rubbery overall atmosphere felt stuffy and not at all worthy of a special occasion price did not justify vs other tasting menus. "Hi we ordered a takeaway legally as per covid ! We live only an 8 minute drive away, we were told 20 minutes for collection and we arrived in good time to no que and left for home at around 20 minutes later ! We ordered chicken pakora which was cold ! A portion of chicken tikka masala and it was grainy almost as though the yogurt wasn’t fresh as the sauce looked sandy and was slightly gritty in texture, we also ordered a chicken Korma and the sauce was the same but also spicy (which Korma isn’t supposed to be). With both mains we ordered fried pilau rice which was also cold but even worse when you opened the containers the rice came out in rectangular lumps and it didn’t want to separate and clumped together. The rice was definitely reheated from probably the day before as we ordered our meal at 5.30pm ish. I ordered from this shop on the TripAdvisor ratings and having ordered a starter and 2 main courses if 1 thing was going to be disappointing then fair enough but for the whole meal to be **** then I suggest the owners have had a big hand in the ratings for their establishment. I also at the point of ordering our meal made a point of telling the guy on the phone that this was the 1st time I had ordered from them as their ratings looked great. I will definitely not be spending my hard earned cash in this establishment again disappointed is an understatement !"

"We went for a dinner with friends, we ordered salt pepper corn, chilli paneer, masala Mogo, veg samosa’s which were all edible but nothing that was outstanding, but all edible and we all ate. For mains we ordered butter chicken, shahi paneer, dal makhani and naan and nothing was really outsindong, they added juts lots of chilli powder on the dal makhani but forgot to add any butter or cream! The paneer was again the same nothing shahi about it. They did offer to make it again but we didn’t want to wait around for them to make it all again. Be aware when ordering a jug of coke or drink! It’s £12 for 3 large glasses of coke whereas the the jug is £12 and only offer you 1.5 glasses of coke! So felt a bit ripped off there! But we didn’t say anything to them about it but def not worth getting the jug! Lesson learnt not sure if rush back to eat there again as nothing really stood out"

"I have been a big fan of the Red Tiffin for a while now. It is the best South Asian takeaway in the area with a good selection of meat-free options. However, I have had some mixed experiences with the staff at the counter. One of them is incredibly friendly and sweet, but there is another guy who can be quite rude. Unfortunately, his attitude has made me hesitant to order from here. It's a shame because other than that, I have had no other issues with this place."

"Arrived in time. Restaurant was approximately 50% empty. Table was not ready. Asked to take a seat in the bar. Around 12 14 min later were taken to our table for 2. No menu. Few minutes later came food menu. No drinks menu. Requested papad with my drink, took 10 min before serving papad but wanted us to order food. Starter deserved 4 stars but kofta curry was bland and nothing like any Indian cuisine. Ordered pan kulfi was served two dollops of ice cream with grossly over powering pan flavouring added with touch of falooda ingredients. This was an insult to kulfi, priced at £12.50. When asked by staff about food, informed him about our opinion on the kulfi. He agreed that it had excessive pan flavouring and confessed that he had tasted it before it was served. This dish deserved minus 5 rating. The food is nothing like Baluchi at Lalit’s in Delhi and Mumbai. Baluchi London will be not be on our list for future."

"Food very nice but not particularly memorable. The curry portions are very large so I prefer to share number of them with a group. It’s a shame they only serve Thali at lunch so I couldn’t order for dinner. Ambience it’s one big room with the tables spaced out nicely so not too cramped. We had a nice table in the corner. Staff they were pleasant but it was hard to get their attention. It’s one of those places where specific staff are looking after your area of the restaurant so you can’t just ask anyone for something. Overall, it was a nice choice to go there with a group of friends and some good food."

"The COVID compliance was shocking. We did not see staff sanitising tables in between customers. Although staff were wearing masks. We ordered 2 Long Island ice teas. There were certainly lacking the alcohol and were very sweet. When raised this with the waiter we were told he had put 50ml of the spirits and next time it will be better. It was obvious that these were not made correctly! We ordered the mixed grill- the sheek kebabs were awful! They were cold and hard, so we raised this with the manager and he apologised and replaced them. The new plate came and this time the kebabs were warm however still hard and chewy. They were not freshly made! We sent these back and the manager spoke to the chef and confirmed it was an error On their part. The wings, tikka and chops were very nice. We decided not to order mains. Staff were great, the manager gave a discount due to the issues raised however would have preferred decent cocktails and food I would not recommend this place as cocktails are watered down and the food is mediocre."

"This restaurant is absolutely amazing and highly recommend for dining. The service is excellent, and the meal type is dinner. The price per person ranges from £10 to £20. "The staff completely disregarded our reservation, despite it being confirmed in a separate correspondence. They seemed indifferent, uninterested, and unhelpful. When inquiring about ingredients for allergies, they bluntly stated they didn't know how the food was sourced. Our group felt like a burden. The service was painfully slow, leading to one member not being able to enjoy their meal as it arrived late. Even after requesting a cooler dessert, it was served too hot and then taken away without our consent. The restroom was cold, unkempt, and lacked basic amenities. "We were in UK last summer and were visiting Edinburgh. I made a mistake and did not do any research of the area for any Indian Restaurants in case of any exigency. The exigency arrived in a way that, my four year would not want to eat anything but Indian food. "We went for a family meal to celebrate a special event. We have eaten here several times before and were always impressed with the quality of the food. On this occasion we were eating late in the evening due to other commitments. Some of the food was disappointing. I ordered the lamb tikka biryani. When it arrived, it was clearly chicken not lamb! The rice was very dry and it came with a spicy sauce rather than a vegetable curry. I ate about a third of it. One of the other meals was not particularly inspiring and did not match the promised description. The service was very good, although we did feel the staff were waiting for us to finish as we were the last customers there. In all, we have been a little put off returning to what was one of our favourite places to eat and I am not sure we could recommend it to others despite having done so in the past."

"Had been looking forward to trying this place as had heard great reviews but unfortunately very disappointed. Ordered chilli garlic Prawns which did not contain peppers as described and the sauce tasted like chilli ketchup. Squid starter was the most disappointing, the batter was coming off the squid resulting in a congealed sauce which was thick anyway.. Shame about texture as sauce was flavoursome. . The butter chicken was lovely but quite spicy which is surprising as this dish is usually mild, unfortunately no indication of spice level on website otherwise would have asked for spice to be reduced. Placed order over the phone but now wished I placed it on website as they didn't apply correct meal deal, when asked I was advised the butter chicken was not classic curry and therefore not included in deal. Only checked when I returned home and this was one of the dish choices on website for the meal deals. This resulted in over charging me which is bit dishonest."

"Used to be good, this time around we were served raw chicken and when I told them they proceeded to argue that the expert the chef said it was not. I pointed out the blood and pink bits of chicken but was no use as the expert didn’t agree. "In short, the restaurant had fantastic food but lacked in service quality. I was tempted to give it a 5-star rating due to the delicious dishes, but the service was disappointing. We waited a long time for the waiter to take our order, and it took another half an hour for him to return after clearing our table. By then, it was too late to order dessert. "We stopped by for lunch while exploring the area. At first, I thought the restaurant was closed because it was so quiet, but the manager greeted us warmly. We ordered some Bombay-style snacks to nibble on, and they were quite spicy (I usually avoid spicy foods), but very enjoyable nonetheless. My partner's chicken starter was a bit too salty for our taste (we try to limit salt for health reasons), but the chef came over to chat with us and generously offered to prepare another chicken starter right away. He also adjusted our mains to suit our preferences. The mango lassi was delicious, as was the virgin piña colada. The portion sizes were great too (pictures were taken after we finished eating)."
