"The restaurant experience was overall positive, with the exception of our 4-year-old grandson who requested pancakes but then rejected them because they weren't like his papa's pancakes. He also attempted to snatch his 2-year-old brother's sausages. Despite this, the meals for the adults were freshly cooked, tasty, and served hot."

"When we arrived, the restaurant seemed to be fairly quiet, but we ended up waiting quite a while for our drinks. Once our drinks were finally served, we were pleasantly surprised with some complimentary toasted bread, olives, and balsamic vinegar with olive oil, all of which were quite delicious. I was grateful for these appetizers since our main courses took over an hour to arrive. There might have been a mix-up, as the waitress later asked whether my meze was intended as a main dish or a starter, despite us having confirmed earlier that all our selections were main courses. Nevertheless, the wait felt excessively long."

"Bill's in Oxford is the latest branch of a chain that began on the south coast, in Lewes , with a café that was also a greengrocer's: not much more than a decade on, branches seem to be springing up everywhere. The shop element has been retained, although the fruit and vegetables have become gourmet jams, sweets, beers and other goods that are stacked on tables and shelves throughout the restaurant. Bill's have taken over the Northgate Hall on St Michael's Street, and clearly plenty of cash has been spent on converting this high-ceilinged old building into a shabbily chic, warehouse-style space. Apart from those desserts, the menu is fairly wide-ranging and has a distinctly summery...read more"

"Went for a late lunch on Saturday so was happy that they were still serving lunch at 3pm. Very welcoming staff and atmosphere, with classical music in the background. Place was clean but, although it wasn't busy, I was surprised that staff were not wearing masks. Main dishes were at £13.95 and the portions were of reasonable size, big enough I took half home with me. I had the mushroom stew with pasta and sour cream on the side, the dish was very tasty, even the pasta I normally don't order pasta when eating out as it's so easy to make at home. Would highly recommend and would go back when I get the chance."

"If you go here, I recommend spicy stir-fried pork and soft tofu stew. Those two were the most delicious. Budae Jjigae is not bad, but I think the above two are the best at this restaurant. It tasted like what I had in Korea. Soy sauce-based meats were a bit salty for me. And the white rice is a bit dry and tasteless. They say that the restaurant has no choice but to make the bibimbap dry. However, even if it gets a little sticky, there won't be any problem in making bibimbap... That part was the most disappointing, and there is really no ventilation. It's no joke that your clothes smell when you leave. Smelly clothes will last for 2-3 days haha. You have to be prepared. However, the Korean male manager is very kind and helpful. The service was quite satisfactory. I was going to give it three stars, but the service was so good that I gave it four. Stir-fried pork and soft tofu stew can be rated 5 stars. The price is not that cheap. However, considering the location and the cost of living in London, it is a price that must be tolerated to some extent. please refer to this."

"We came here as a family couple, toddler and newborn baby with a pram. We tried to get a table on a weekday evening, but it transpired most of the tables were booked. However the staff were very accommodating and endeavoured to fit us in. Eventually we ended up on the terrace at the back, which was fine for us, albeit it without the atmosphere of the main restaurant. We had a quick dinner (food came fairly promptly and everything was delicious. In particular, I would praise the melanzane parmigiana (baked aubergine in particular, and the children's option which was great value a small version of an adult pasta or pizza. Service was included (10% but I insisted on adding a bit more to the bill because the service was great."

"The cafe is also a book store, so it’s a must go if you love books. You can have a cup of coffee or have your lunch while choosing a book to buy back. A good place to hangout either with friends or by yourself. For vegan options, I wouldn’t say there’re many when I went and staff wasn’t very keen to help out. I had a soup and oatcakes, which was alright, nothing special for food."

"The positive is that the food is good. But the negative is the service time and the attitude of the staff. We were seated and had our order taken after 20 minutes. A little slow but it was a busy Saturday evening so understandable. Starters came promptly and were eaten. We then got ignored by every passing member of staff for at least 50 minutes. Quite the skill! Once there was a break in our conversation and I realised how long it had been, I stood up to intercept a waitress and asked “are our mains on the way, please?” Our ticket was checked by her at the kitchen hatch and we were told “yes”. At this point our starter plates were cleared after they had sat on the table for at least 35 minutes. Our mains then took another 25 minutes to get to us, so I suspect that being told they were on their way was a lie. To be clear: we were given our mains 1hr 20 mins after placing our order. I complained to a waitress who sent over a manager. The manager asked if we’d had starters (yes, we had) and said that it was our fault our main was so late as we’d had a first course. How insulting!!! Blaming the customer for their bad service. Disgusting. When I said it was still far too long to wait between courses she then changed tack and said the kitchen was “really really busy” well, they weren’t busy cooking our food now were they?! And despite the place being full when we arrived, by this point of the night over half the tables were empty. There were 3 tickets on the pass along with ours and tables were 2 4 people (no large groups) so I feel that was also another lie to get out of it. What a shocking way to treat customers! My advice to you is: if you want your food served in a timely manner, either take the advice of the manager and don’t order a starter, or, be sure to communicate with waitstaff once your first course is finished and ask for your main to be cooked and served promptly. (Note: food also sat under the heat lamps for long lengths of time as staff stood socialising with one another behind the bar rather than serve customers) I hope this advice is of use as I would have appreciated it ahead of my visit! Good luck. [Reading other reviews, ours is not the only experience of slow service and seeing staff chat to one another rather than deal with the customers paying their wages. Would be interested to receive a reply to this review]"

"I have been coming to the HDV Henley pretty much since it opened, I booked Sunday lunch for the two of us, the restaurant was nice enough, only 1 other table eating though, and soon enough we were the only people in the restaurant, I know there is an issue everywhere with staffing, however at times we had no staff at all. the food was ok, the shared platter we had was great, the mains I had Sunday lunch was ok, personally I don't think the £95 bill for the 2 course and a bottle of house wine was warranted. Its a shame, we sat outside and listened to two staff basically manning about staffing, management, and other issues, maybe need to be aware of guests who are around more, not the sort of conversations guests should be hearing. Another issue I really don't like is, staff near you speaking in a foreign language, and then swopping between said language and English, its not professional either."

"We ordered a vegetarian pizza here and it was delicious, even though the base was a little overcooked for my liking so it was difficult to cut up. The service was okay but the person taking the order didn't understand what we were asking for (it was on the menu ... and everyone else seemed to get a metal container with the order in. We didn't and subsequently our order had been forgotten about! Also, it was not clear what the vegetarian pizza was from the menu so we couldn't customise it as easily as we would have liked. It's good to have the short and snappy menus but somewhere there needs to be more info to help customers to choose. We also didn't know where to get the sauce from but it turns out it comes when you get your food Bit confusing!"

"I really enjoy dining at this restaurant. My favorite dish is the pierogi Ruski (dumplings filled with potato and cheese) although they are not shown in the picture. I have never had a bad meal here. Just a heads up, some of the items in the photo were leftovers and were not provided by Polish Kitchen, such as Yorkshire puddings and sweet corn."

"Amazing food and service. If you want to try Venezuelan food, this is the place. The guayoyo was delicious and the tostones were a good portion l, totally unexpected and delicious. The taste of the meat and chicken was perfect and the cachapa was fulfilling. They offered vegan and vegetarian options and they have vegan churros. If you love tres leches and can have dairy I will tell you to order it! We will come back. Really nice place"

"Ordered from here after years and think the taste has certainly improved.delivery was prompt too.Special mention for Pilau rice and chana masala...haven't had something like that in Brentwood before and I think it's the flavour of ghee...that was by far the best have had here. Obviously not the same strong masalas as we get back home in India but I liked the mild flavours that suits the taste here. Definitely gonna order again and definitely recommended."

"I’ve been meaning to write a review of this place for some time...tucked away behind the shopping centre, I and my family come back here every time we visit Leicester town centre. It’s a cosy and friendly little place where you can get a great cuppa (my mum can vouch) or a good coffee. We’ve had fabulous breakfasts, light lunches and delicious late afternoon meals (the carbonara is a particular favourite) all beautifully cooked with good ingredients. The service is very friendly, the chef is really good and although we have waited a little while for our food on one or two occasions, the wait has never been excessive and it’s because it is cooked to order and arrives piping hot. The decor is eclectic and they support local artists with art for purchase on the walls and other bits and pieces for sale, if you like a browse as you wait. Highly recommended."

"beautiful small place in edwinstowe near the sherwood forest visitor centre. absolutely charming inside with a very friendly owner / manager and their mother provide great service. the real stars were but the cakes. freshly made and quite stunning. I had seen the pancake with a nasty, it was fantastic. highly recommended when they go to the visitor center, it is not more than 10 minutes to foot (probably less)."

"We didn't plan on eating at this restaurant specifically, we happened to stumble upon it and we're so glad we did! The staff were incredibly friendly and took our temperatures before seating us. They were welcoming and went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable, a true asset to the business. Me and my friend ordered starters and mains, with mine pictured here. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced for the high quality we received. We couldn't resist ordering dessert because the food was so good. Honestly, the next time I visit Durham, I will make sure to dine here before anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff! 10/10."

"Dim sum lovely had a couple of prawn versions, though extremely hot so let them cool down a bit staff should warn customers. Tom yum soups very disappointing we had the salmon one and the prawn one. In both cases the salmon and prawn had not be seared, seasoned nor marinated, so they were just plonked in the soup plain boiled, very bland. The soup base was OK but definitely not an authentic Thai taste. Massive dining hall we were the only ones in there on a weekend."

"Visited for the first time here yesterday and was immediately impressed with the excellent customer service . We turned up 10 mins before opening, as a large group of 9 kids and 7 adults without booking and was so impressed that they opened the doors early for us as it was so cold waiting outside (without us asking) All the kids loved the big choice of reasonably priced waffles, crepes and flavoured ice creams . Have been to Creams several times too but Twists is definately on par food and staff wise , if not better . Will definately be returning soon to Twists ...Thanku "

"We did book and timed it just right as it became very busy with long queue for the carvery shortly after we got ours. Choice of beef. Gammon. Turkey. Pork. You get enough meat but not loads. You help yourself to vegetables and can have as many as you want and go back for more. Lots of nice vegetables to choose from with most of them being fresh not frozen we had a very nice waitress Eden. We will be going back"

"I've been searching for freak shakes in Aberdeen and found this small but cute cafe!! Because it was so small there weren't any seats left for us and so we had to take away. The staff were super nice and friendly. They said they could give our freak shakes in take away cups and will make sure it's instaworthy. Lovely people! I couldn't imagine how it would look like as a take away. I was blown away by how cute they were! They were a masterpiece. Not only did they look good, they taste amazing! We ordered the matcha honey, aero mint, and choco fudge. We also ordered a kinder hot chocolate. All were amazing! Of course they were super sweet but that's what you'd expect from ordering a freak shake. Will definitely go back. Hopefully there will be seats and this time, I'll have it in a mug!"
