"After visiting a special exhibition at the British Museum, we had lunch at this restaurant. We began with the crab and venison starters and shared a perfectly cooked medium rare beef dish. The atmosphere was fantastic, as always, and the service was impeccable. For dessert, we enjoyed the almond panna cotta. The wine list was extensive, with excellent wines available at reasonable prices."

"The Sunday roast special, a three-course meal, was superb and creatively infused with an Italian twist on the classic roast. We have also enjoyed the fantastic à la carte menu several times, and the service is consistently excellent. The atmosphere is great, and the view of the city rooftops is delightful."

"Our waitress was lovely and food was good. We were served the wrong meals which sat in front of us for some time before they realised their mistake. The meals were then taken over the other table. Personally I would not have accepted food that was getting cold and which had been sitting with other people. Pizzas and pastas were good. Wine was extortionate for what it was around pounds for a basic chianti."

"If you’re looking for a classy yet affordable dinner out, Scicly Da Scalzo in Victoria is the place for you! I visited Scicily Da Scalzo tonight to celebrate my 3 month anniversary with my partner. Located next to Victoria coach station, this centrally placed restaurant maintains the cozy feel of being back in Nonnas kitchen. We started our meal with tender Kallamata oliver (both green and black were provided) along side some warm soft bread. For drinks I ordered a bottle of wine, these vary in price starting from house vino at 22.50. (Of course cost of living crises, so bought the cheapest). Service was excellent, all staff were itallian (or mainland European) which made it feel so authentic and they were able to give the best recommendations to us. We used a £50 voucher on the fork which was applied to the entire bill. A great place if you are deciding where to spend some well earned Yums ️."

"first they had difficulties finding our reservation, but they have accommodated our group in the last minute at a busy Friday night and given us a very good table. they could have been difficult, but they were friendly and helpful. on the first look the prices seem reasonable and dare I even say cheap for the place! until they realize that the portions are a bit on the smaller side, they still get good value for money. it was a bit strange that they don't get broth or anything to munch while they wait. it was a relaxed culinary experience that is pleasant, but it means that they wait for a bit without eating something. the porterhouse steak was good and our friend really enjoyed the bark wellington. the ointment was great. the house wine was not bad, spending a little more and going for the reserve. a beautiful culinary experience. will return."

"Me my boyfriend booked a trip to London for my birthday. We had booked this restaurant as a part of the Virgin Experience offer. First impressions of the restaurant were that staff were attentive with taking our coats and hanging them up ect although shortly after we were shown to our seats our impressions changed. The man who was waiting our table was an extremely rude and arrogant man. We are young adults and both of us fussy with our appetites. We explained to the man we would prefer to miss the cocktails and happy to not have a drink. He offered us a non alcoholic cocktail and i politely declined, which seemed to aggravate him. He made several comments about our eating/drinking and how we should have a drink! This wasn’t in a polite tone it was plain rude and felt slightly insulting. You also have to pay extra for Water which they offer you and if my parents hadn’t been here before me i wouldn’t have been any the wiser that they charge you for it. The waiter also asked if we would like starters which we opted out of and again made rude comments and laughed at us. We wouldn’t have had to pay any extra for the starter’s so couldn’t quite understand the issue. The meal itself was a small portion, but nevertheless delicious. We both had a steak which one of the only things on the menu you didn’t need to pay a surplus charge for. I felt that this was very misleading as on the Virgin website it didn’t state about any extra charges for items and we weren’t aware of this until we were in the restaurant ordering our food. We payed the extra for our sides which was about £4.50 per side, a small portion. Although understandable as this is London prices for you. Can’t fault the food and the pudding again was small but very rich and delicious. This also cost an extra fee of £4.50 Overall a ‘free’ meal that i had paid for with a voucher cost us around £50 extra than already expected. You pay a service fee at the end which quite frankly i wanted to opt out of but felt too awkward due to the rude man who shoved the card reader in our face before we had chance to opt out. I wouldn’t return here as the dining experience was average and i would prefer to spend my somewhere more worthwhile."

"I used to go here many moons ago when it opened and if anything the food has improved, the service was very good (although the place was not full) and the value was there as evidenced by the staff pointing out good options which were not necessarily the most expensive"

"Four friends visited for Sunday Lunch. The food was overall great, we all really enjoyed. We are picky eaters and like good food and we would definitely come back for Sunday Dinner and would recommend. A few tiny areas they could improve. 3 very small roast potatoes is not enough -this was a real let down on the meal. Only three but really small also so essentially like only one potato -it's not enough. One member of the group is vegetarian so had a cheese and onion pie. She said it was lovely and came with a very tasty cheese sauce and she commented it was the best cheese sauce she had tasted. The meal also came with a pea puree which she said although tasted nice she couldn't eat it as it was cold -she said this would be much better warm. Finially the puddings we had were lovely however we were all disappointed that the sticky toffee pudding didn't come with custard. We asked it we could have it instead but was advised this wasn't possible. 3 out of 4 of our group wanted the sticky toffee pudding but not without custard so we had to opt for other options. It's a shame they don't offer both. But overall it was a nice dinning experience and the food was tasty and we would visit again."

"If this were a school report, I would give it a B-. Here’s why: The food was good, the drinks—a wine and a beer—were of high quality, and the service was prompt and friendly. However, the garden area was littered with garbage and full ashtrays from the previous night, which was disappointing. Additionally, the online booking system proposed an 11:45 time slot, but the pub doesn’t even open until noon!"

"Oh no. This restaurant improved slightly after changing ownership a few months ago, but it has reverted back to its previous poor quality. The service is practically non-existent, as no one even bothered to seat us at our table - we had to move after realizing we were at the wrong one. Customers must order and pay for their own food and drinks at the time of ordering, and the machine prompts for a tip before anything has even been served, which is quite awkward. The food was terrible, taking 40 minutes to receive and tasting unpleasant. The fish was mushy, low quality, frozen, and had a strange smell. For just a little more money, you could have amazing fish and chips at the Scallop Shell - I recommend going there instead. The restaurant lacks service, atmosphere, and any enthusiasm for providing good food or service. The establishment is too large for the staff to handle, as every table seemed to have dirty dishes on it despite it not being busy. I will not be returning here."

"so a Jewel in our neighbor. small dining room with open view of the kitchen, proud cook and kitchen staff, inviting waitress while entering. the menu includes a good selection, so something for everyone. but the best part is the quality of food, good ingredients and well prepared. even very familiar dishes taste just something better."

"I went to Albert’s castlefield yesterday, ordered the chicken. It came out incredibly dry and my friend ordered chips which weren’t cooked and were anaemic. No one came to our table to ask how the food was, only when we’d finished. I didn’t eat any of the chicken, I put some on my friends plate for her to try and she agreed. We spoke to a waitress at the end and she said ‘so sorry about that, is there anything you would like instead’ I said yes please il just have a dessert, sticky toffee pudding which was actually nice. When the bill came they’d put all the food on! I ended up speaking to what I’m guessing was the manager who said, I didn’t tell anyone at the time this was because no one came to the table to ask! she also stated I’d eaten my chicken, which me and my friend both stated to her I ate none of it! I put it on my friends plate for her to try which was evident on her plate. Eventually the manager took the dessert off the bill. I’ve been before and it’s never been like this such a shame. I was here few weeks ago and it was lovely. Completely disappointing"

"very limited menu with too many fish dishes. some things that are not available, but that seems for the cursor with a series of restaurants due to the circumstances that are beyond their control. However, this was more than by free sweets from the manager. service was very attentive, but not over intrusive. the restaurant was clean and welcoming. prices and portion size were very good. not complaining."

"we went to Halloween and had lunch first. the homemade cake was excellent, the child chicken was good, but quite expensive for a child at over £8. the headkeeper wore his mask only around his mouth, not around his nose. there was a lot of space around our table. we had to wait until we had to pay. a little short when I think. after our walk, which was very good, we sat outside and ordered coffee and cake, the cake was an individual muffin, that was solid, heavy and not nice to eat, I did not pay for the cake."

"Our visit was quite disappointing. My dish was billed as a "dee pizza," but it turned out to be a tasteless, chewy base topped with sweet salad, an excessive amount of hoisin sauce, and a tiny amount of duck. There was no cheese or tomato! Overall, the dish was unappetizing and not fit to eat. My wife ordered halloumi, but hers was also nearly flavorless. Our guest had a duck salad and said she was satisfied with it. For dessert, we ordered tiramisu, which was again bland. While the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant and the service was excellent, I was not charged for my inedible pizza, most of which I couldn't eat. I admit I made a poor choice, but in a reputable restaurant, there shouldn't be subpar dishes on the menu; everything should be of high quality. All in all, we had a very unsatisfactory experience and don't feel inclined to return."

"Scallops and chipolata chicken starters were lovelyThe pork belly and scallop main was really nice tooWe made an error when ordering the wine and ordered a low calorie and low alcohol wine, our faultI had the pizza and didn't rate it at all. Hardly any tomatoe sauce or cheese on it. The spice was a bit much also.... and I usually enjoy spicy food.Other than that love the restaurant, been quite a lot of times and will be coming back again.P.s wish the steak salad was still on the menu"

"here with the family after a walk in banstead woods. we just wanted a quick drink, but after we were sitting on a table for minutes and ignored, I went into the bar just to say abruptly that it was just sitting service. The...Waitress took our order, but then on return to the table we waited a few minutes before another waitress asked if we were served. she (the second waitress) at least did not forget us when the drinks arrived shortly after, and thereby earned this place another star, but this realluy seems to be a pretty hit and miss facility. Unfortunately, I think there is an element of forcedness, as they get a lot through the traffic of walkers. I would recommend the white hard for a better and more reliable service and probably far superior eating."
