"Very pleasant Italian food.Quite small so very noisy when full plus very loud music. Why oh why do Italian restaurants never give you enough Parmesan and have condiments on the table. There was too much tomato sauce on the bolognese and a shame they could not make an affagato,as it is only a scoop of icecream with a shot of espresso added.Indeed all the deserts were not homemade. The pizzas were excellent. The waiter is charming and attentive."

"we had read very good reviews about the green room, me and 2 friends who have not seen themselves for a few years decided to go for the afternoon. we telephoned, booked afternoon tea and paid our deposit 2 days before. when we arrived. the waiter took us on our table and said: “I’m sorry, but the system didn’t update, so they didn’t know that we wanted to go the afternoon.” that seemed very strange when they had taken the deposit from us 2 days ago! the waiter said we had to order from the normal midday menu. after we had eaten our salad! we wanted to order 3 coffees, I asked the waitress if we could order coffee, her answer was: “It’s difficult because I don’t have a pen!” I didn’t reply, there are only 3 coffees and cakes. I then asked about the bill that lasted about 15 minutes when they finally arrived, they had not taken the deposit we had previously paid, and the waitress said: "She must talk to the manager, I explained that I stayed 10 minutes on the parking lot, so she could be fast. When I asked her what happened to the bill she said, they must go into the bar and sort it with the manager. I was very annoyed by the lack of customer service, not only had they forgotten our afternoon, but had also accused the wrong crowd. he was quite arrogant and served other people and let us wait. he said he would take £11 for the mistake with the afternoon! it is a shame that eating and the environment is very beautiful. Unfortunately, the customer service makes this place so much down. it is safe to say we will never return or will not recommend it to one of our friends."

"Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our afternoon tea was delicious with a unique selection of savouries, scones and cakes. My favourites were the tiny cup of yellow split pea and pepper soup, mini croissant with goats cheese and the amazing gingerbread. Presentation was perfect with my vegetarian selection of savouries offered on a separate plate. Excellent value for money. Thank you :"

"I've been eating a couple of lunches today and bought a fresh scrap sandwich and a drink. the choice here is just great and the sandwich was prepared for me while I waited. it was absolutely delicious! here is a fantastic selection of freshly prepared meals. relish also has a seating area and located directly on the road, I don't need an excuse to dive back soon! fantastic. I could resist the fresh cream cake this time, but I don't think I would do it again, it looked amazing! thank you all."

"My wife and I enjoyed lunch at this wonderful place today. It is a great spot with plenty of parking, a friendly and professional staff, and a classic English pub atmosphere. The food was amazing, with a variety of interesting specials, and they were able to accommodate my wife's dietary needs. Unfortunately, we had a mishap where the pepper dispenser spilled all over my wife's meal. The staff handled the situation exceptionally well, offering a sincere apology and quickly replacing the meal with a brand new dish within 5 minutes. We were very pleased with the level of service, especially in a challenging situation. Overall, we highly recommend The Cherry Tree for a fantastic dining experience."

"We went in because the pulled pork smelt so good and the reviews looked amazing. When I realised they had a vegetarian soup I had to try it. It was the best soup I have ever eaten. Butternut squash with lime leaves and lemongrass (I would pay for the recipe! . Brought two extra cups back to Essex with us. I would travel the five hours back to have it again and my husband loved the pulled pork and is currently tucking into a burrito that he bought back (in a fridge . You have to visit if you go to York."

"Incredibly disappointing. For starters, they served our food in literal takeout boxes and gave us cardboard cutlery and single use plastic cups just why? The service was really poor. Despite being one of three tables, our food was delivered to the wrong table, and when the receiving customers highlighted the mistake, the server simply rewrapped the burgers and brought them to us (not really Covid secure given that the burgers had been unwrapped by the other table). Our server was inattentive and unprofessional we had to ask for water three times, and in the end another server had to assist, our one seemingly too busy laughing with another table for 10 minutes. The food was mostly fine, except the buffalo wings, which were shockingly bad, as well as the fact that they seemed to have run out of most of their menu. We really loved Rudy's Diner in Islington, particularly the milkshakes, which weren't available. We had even tried to call ahead but the phone line went straight to voicemail. You'd think that with so many menu items unavailable, they'd have an operational phone or an updated menu on their website at the very least! To add salt to the wound, midway through our meal, staff decided to put on uncomfortably loud music, making it really difficult to hear one another. The only redeeming feature of our experience was that, thanks to the takeout boxes, we were able to make a relatively quick escape."

"I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon and was happy to find that the only table free as I arrived happened to be bathed in the afternoon! this place has a friendly, relaxed mood as they hang with friends, but friends who have...big taste, are talented in the kitchen and proud of fantastic service! the quesadillas I had were absolutely delicious, full of taste, the kind of tasty they still find themselves scary to have again months later (and under an absolute bargain, there is a difference between price and value and I had at least double my money worth, thank you). I'll be back and bring friends next time, thank you."

"Terrible. 16 people paid £16 each for afternoon tea. 1st few sandwiches were very good but only a few plates of them. Asked for more sandwiches and staff pulled a face. Waited approx an hour and half for additional sandwiches (egg and tuna on plain bread with great lumps of butter). 2 choices of cake. Slab chocolate fudge and a concoction of something nobody could identify and eat. There was a spicy sausage roll, ok and scones with jam and cream. 1 small bowl of whipped cream between 16 people. Eventually got more, some guests trVelled over a 100 miles for this get together. Mum to be was embarrassed at the offeri g and kept apologising. A number of us complained at the bar, and response was a shrug of the shoulders and 'sorry '. Staff service was non existent. We had to clear tables ourselves and then had to ask staff to remove all the dirty plates from the room. Very disappointed Appalling food and service. Would not recommend. Definately not worth the money."

"Have visited a few times recently for their cavery. It's always feels a calm place to come to away from the stresses of the week. Their service is very good with the right mix of professionalism blended with friendliness and familiarity. The saying of entering as a guest and leaving as a friend seems to ring true here. We particularly like the Irish Operations Manager whose name we always forget. He is exemplary at his job. Nothing is too much and we always have a laugh when he is there he alone is five star, but this is not to detract from his team who each brings their own skill. The food has never fallen short of exceptional from starters, to main, to dessert. No complaints. There is sufficient parking and turning spaces. Toilets have been hit and miss but when issues have been noted to reception they do seem to deal with them swiftly. It's just a really pleasant place to go for a Sunday dinner."

"Often when visiting a restaurant for the first time I only look at the bad reviews, and one person said the waiter was grumpy and gave this place 2 stars!! Imagine being that sort of person! LOL (as my nephew would say without irony) Rather you than me mate (grumpy reviewer not nephew). This is one of the best bars and indeed restaurants in London without a doubt. A cracking menu full of game (as it is the season) and interesting dishes backed up with a really impressive wine list (as one would expect, they're wine traders). There is nothing not to recommend about this place, the waiting staff are charming, the food is really well conceived and it was busy all night (we arrived at 6pm when it was not too busy but 30 mins later it was full). Bravo to all involved, a really impressive venue."

"My New York Jewish husband and I love London, but miss the great food we could so easily get in the enclaves of NYC and Long Island. Well, we have found something even better Monty’s deli. No exaggeration that the food is excellent. From the perfectly prepared latkes, tender and flavourful (generous) pastrami sandwich, not to mention the chopped liver, like you can’t believe. And then there was the shabbat dinner. You will write home about the chicken that is better than what your mother made juicy, full of flavour and so moist. The veggies and potatoes are cooked with yum! Oh, then the kugel like dessert. And so much food. We’re taking my brother in law when he comes from the States next month (the smart professor who travels the world and rates places on their food). He’ll be jealous because he doesn’t live here!"

"My sister and I decided to pop in on our way back to Frankwell car park after a shopping trip in Shrewsbury. The cafe is lovely and clean and the owner very friendly. My sister opted for a Coronation Chicken salad which was served on a lovely fresh poppy seed bap which she thoroughly enjoyed. I opted for a meatball bap. When it came I was at first disappointed to see that the filling was cold as I have never had cold meatball before. However, what a revelation! The meatballs were so tasty and in a really yummy slightly spicy sauce. The accompanying coffee was also very nice. Will definitely be returning."

"We had a lunch here. They offer seating in side and they have a few bistro sets outside where you can enjoy their baked goods. It was busy but service is fast. There is no table service you order and pay at the counter. We had 2 sandwiches one tuna mayo and one avocado and turkey. Taste was good for the tuna one. The grilled turkey was ok, they put a little to much lemon juice on the avocado. That was a bit too much. The bread we had was sourdough. It needs some chewing. Can’t say it is stale. But it needs a chew. Breads are 7-8 pounds each so not cheap. But they are not small. And fill you up pretty well!"

"We booked a table for six, for our mothers 80th Birthday treat, but left disappointed. The service and some of the food was way below what we had expected. Two small round tables had been pushed together to accommodate us, not ideal. We were told that we would have the champagne and strawberry’s to start. We had all drank the champagne before the strawberries arrived. The only sandwich with any real flavour was the smoked salmon. We were told we could have more sandwiches, when we asked they took over an hour. Teas arrived very late and we had eaten misting the food beforehand. Birthday cake placed on table without any kind of celebratory effort. Waited 30 minutes for knife to cut cake. One of the staff wearing a ‘G’ badge was wonderful, sadly others seemed less interested with one boardering on officious."

"Appalling staff attitudes to disability. Two staff at this establishment displaying a disgraceful attitude to a small group of four adults with what was obviously an assistance dog. They made two attempts to usher the group into 'out of the way ' and entirely inappropriate seating, and when their dreadful stance was challenged, smilingly explained that they were 'just following orders ' and that it 'wasn 't their fault '. Where have we heard that before? No knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 or their personal responsibility for what was plainly discriminatory behaviour. New interim Guide Dogs research found that 76% of guide dog owners have been refused access to a business or service at some point. While around half of guide dog owners (49% said they had changed or restricted their plans because they were worried about being challenged or refused access to a business or service because of their guide dog’. Can I suggest anyone and everyone avoids this place until staff and owners have received appropriate retraining."

"Note: Upgraded to 4 stars. A casual experience in a classy hotel. It does have the feel of a NY deli. Food seems authentic with lots of baked goods and Latkes on display. We went for the Zobler's Reuben and Skyscraper as pictured. Both were good the Reuben had thick slices of corned beef with the Skyscraper being well presented with quality ingredients. The black and white cookie is soft baked and like a cake. We will visit again due to central location and relatively tasty foods. It is self service which makes things faster. Good if you are in a hurry."
