"We were visiting relatives in the area and needed a nice pub for lunch where we could bring both of our dogs. I googled and found this. I called at 12pm when they opened and the lady that answered was so friendly and helpful. We went in at 2pm and she sat us at a great table in the corner which gave the dogs space to lay down comfortably and not be in the way. Such a dog friendly pub with the boys getting several treats each and a dog bowl, not to mention lots of cuddles!!!! The food came and we all had different things but we ate everything. The food was absolutely delicious and great value. My partner is Irish and he confirmed that this was the best Guinness he had had in 9 years of visiting this area!!!!! Cannot find fault with anything. The staff, the food, the atmosphere, the drinks and unbelievably dog friendly. I'm sorry I didn't get the lady's name who served us but it was the tall blonde lady, who was fantastic. The roaring fire was so inviting, we had to drag ourselves away. We will most definitely be back ."

"Lovely evening, delicious food We the enjoyed the variety of gluten free options. Reasonable price Service was okay a bit slow on the drinks but understandable due to it being quite busy. Felt a little rushed at the end as tables had been booked overlapping being an all you can eat you’d expect a longer time slot than 1 hour 30 min especially when it took 15 minutes to take our first order. But over all a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be coming again Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options Parking: Can park in the hollywell car park which is opposite, £3.50 for 2 hours or Rose hill for £3 for 2 hours (free after 8) which is about a 5 minute walk"

"First visit here and really impressed with the food. Chicken satay was juicy, seasoned well and came with a lovely salad and dressings. The jumbo prawn starter was sublime. Drinks service was rapid so thank you to the kind lady who bought out my 3 wines in rapid succession. My prawn main was fabby, good portion and kick of heat. Only down side was the sticky rice was way too sticky for me so we ordered a plain rice on top. One of the nicest Thai meals we’ve had"

"Date night with the wife. I was looking for somewhere local I had never been, which did food I could eat. I'm off carbs and sugar... for my diabetes type 2. I've lived here forever but I had never had reason to come in before. So reading the menu meat it was then. Realised they had cheese pie which is a real crowd pleaser for the wife. Parked up right outside, which was good. There isn't much parking at the pub so be warned. Went in around 7 on a Friday night and it was busy. The service was...slow. I'm off beer as well as sugar, so tried the Brooklyn lager...and it was really good. If less than ideal 2g sugar 100ml. Managed to drink 2 bottles before we got our order in. Specials are blah blah blah...sorry no cheese pie... Damn it there go my brownie points. So we ordered one special starter and one off the main, and two main courses. Black pudding scotch eggs, and cod balls. Fish n Chips and Mixed Grill no chips. 5 mins later no Black pud scotch eggs...can we have the brie...5 mins later...yup no brie. Hmm We both had the cod balls. Absolutely starving when they arrived. 30 minutes after we arrived. Good job they were fabulously good. Sadly I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture. Perfect crust on them, lots of fish and only a bit of potato (hmm didn't say that on the menu). A further relaxed 30 minute wait followed for our main course. My meal was fine. Not the best ever, I had opted out of the chips, and it came without much salad. Which I would normally have expected to be there. Almost looked like they had left room for it on my plate but forgot to serve it. Though to be fair that's probably where the chips would go. The fish was really great for the wife and her chips were yummy. Stole one shh don't tell the diabetes. The atmosphere was good, all the people were friendly, it was just a bit slow. All in all I will go back though perhaps pick a steak next time, and ask for some salad with it."

"Great tapas dishes, the staff judged the pace really well. Drinks service was slow. Ambience was really good until a rather large party where seated and the noise levels when up hugely. Great value"

"It's been a while since I've been to a pub/restaurant where I felt completely at ease inviting myself. The meal was excellent, and the menu was diverse. Everyone was very friendly—it's definitely one of the best places I've been to. I will definitely return. We had the Sunday dinner, but honestly, the menu was so good that I could have picked anything."

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, the food was delightful, and the decor was beautiful. I stopped by for lunch today and tried the mussels with fries. The creamy sauce was absolutely amazing, the mussels were perfectly cooked, and it was served with warm sourdough bread. The staff was attentive and friendly; our server even suggested we order a kids' dish because it was more affordable! I highly recommend this place, whether you’re looking for a nice meal or just a drink and a snack. As for parking, it was easy to find, clearly marked, and there were plenty of spaces available—though I can imagine it gets busy during the summer."

"We went here for an anniversary because my partner recommended it, she's been here before. We got the Asiana banquet for two. I was a little bit hesitant because a) I'm not a big fan of Chinese food and b) I thought we might have been paying too much. Boy was I wrong. The food was plentiful, I'm a big guy and I was in a food coma by the end of it but satisfyingly so. Right from the start the food was rich, delicious and the variety was surprising. Duck, beef, chicken, prawns... All cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the deep fried crispy chicken with salt and pepper chips. MVP was the curry sauce, absolutely superb. Service was excellent. Fast and the server was actually hilarious. Didn't overstay his welcome or make it awkward and kept the food coming pretty efficiently. 5/5 for service. Really nice folk. My only gripe and this is a small one is that the atmosphere could do with some better lighting. Maybe some table candles or lights. That's just me though. Overall a fantastic experience and we'll be back for sure."

"This was our first visit and after looking at the positive reviews we thought we would give it a try. We had an early evening reservation which gave access to the 'happy hour ' menu pricing mains at £8.95 which supplements on certain choices. We had three different choices of Lasagne, Chicken Diane and Sea Bass followed by sticky toffee pudding. All the food was excellent, nicely presented with good portion size. The restaurant was very busy and while we were seated immediately, it was clear some larger parties were having to wait for tables to be cleared. Decoration inside the restaurant is contemporary and classy but the absence of any softer fabrics meant the restaurant was quite noisy. The restaurant also appeared to be geared towards larger parties and the configuration of tables meant that you may be seated quite close to other diners. Overall though, the experience was good, service polite and efficient with ample car parking on site."

"Fantastic attentive service. Waitresses were very friendly Nice environment Lovely food. I do think you should have an option on the Sunday lunch menu as not everyone wants two courses. X the question below is easy to answer if you go on a Sunday as you can only have the 2 course option per person which is £30 min pp We did really enjoy it and would definitely go again I just would have preferred the option Food: 4"

"A surprise mid-week visit to the Beehive resulted in a delightful supper. Drinks: Sauvignon blanc with soda and ice, Lager. Supper: It was getting on for 8pm and I asked John (the host) if there was anything in the kitchen as my foodie partner and I were in need of some 'intake '. Nothing heavy and so we went for the: Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs with peppers and chips x2 WOW, they used a fine-grain salt and pepper covering that whilst adding taste, did not 'burn ' your mouth. The chips are nicely oiled with S&P alongside fried peppers. What a lovely surprise. Even a 'doggy bag ' was provided for the couple of ribs left over. My foodie partner also met some people she had not seen for a good number of years. So overall, a really good night."

"We came here with friends for a catch up and had a very enjoyable meal The staff were friendly and helpful and very welcoming It was red hot inside but we sat by a window so it was ok Top tip there is a dog friendly part by the bar We were a bit concerned as on the website it states you can only have the table for 2 hours which honestly is not enough time for a catch up and a three course meal we were chatting for at least an hour before we even thought about ordering food so this very nearly stopped me booking and is something I don’t like as a rule but it wasn’t busy so we stayed for 4 hours we drank lots so spent plenty the staff were lovely and very attentive and super friendly short haired blonde lady especially The food was fantastic Homemade lasagne with salad Rump of lamb with fresh vegetables Sticky toffee pudding Cornflakes tart Reasonable prices The only negative was the beer was flat so either a problem with how it’s kept or the glasses need replacing Overall I will definitely visit again Everything was tasty tender"

"NO SAFE PROCEDURES IN PLACE FOR SEVERE ALLERGY SUFFERERS Start with the worst a mum of two (toddler and baby) attended in our party and informed serving staff that both have dairy allergy when ordering our food. The mum is a breastfeeding mum (on holiday) and has been avoiding dairy in the time spent with us so as not to pass diary onto her baby through her breast milk. The toddler cannot take dairy now that she is on solid food. Unfortunately for us, the vegan meal was served with carrots tossed/cooked in butter, (which in itself should not have occurred given this was ordered as part of a vegan meal), but which was only noticed at the end of the meal after the toddler started to break out in hives. Having been spoken to separately by waiting staff, chef and management, the only recompense was apologies and 20% off the food bill. The serving staff said a note had been made on the docket and the chef said he had been too busy to notice note this was a Tuesday evening at 5.30 and the restaurant was only about half full. Words are cheap and had the toddler suffered a severe reaction that may have required ambulance attendance, the 20% off the food bill would have done little to recompense our family. Thankfully the parents were quick to administer medication. We recommend that the restaurant respond to this review about how their procedures are to be changed to ensure someone else does not suffer more seriously than we did. Thankfully the parents had the correct medication and epi pen with them. The attitude and culture to responding to this incident was all wrong. By consequence, the kitchen is at worst negligent and disrespectful and at best, careless. I would not trust this kitchen with taking adequate respect over anyone's food allergies, intolerances or avoidances, particularly as the vegan meal was served with butter. Food 1* due to the above and while some of us enjoyed our food around the table, the vegan option was noted to have little taste from the vegetables. Service 3* waiting staff attentive and polite, but again didn't seem trained on how to handle our incident and were keen to pass the blame of communication to the kitchen. Atmosphere 3 nothing notable. We were escorted to a comfortable set of tables for our party size, but we left feeling angry and let down by the response and lack of consideration for our allergy sufferers."

"Called into this restaurant without a booking on what was, clearly, a busy Friday evening. They managed to seat us but, fairly, told us we had only an hour or so to eat as it had already been reserved. There's a wide-ranging menu with something to suit most palates. My wife went for the satay chicken and we shared a plate of noodles. Hers was lovely, as were the noodles. I went for the king prawns in ginger, garlic and lemongrass (which was described as moderate heat on the menu). Such classifications are subjective and, to me, it was quite hot but, having said that, the flavours were immense. Beautifully cooked, the prawns were exactly right, not overcooked as in so many other places, and the blend of garlic, ginger and lemongrass was perfect with each being perfectly balanced. If heat is an issue I'm sure the chef could tone down the chillies but, for flavour, it was phenomenal."

"The atmosphere was a bit chilly, and perhaps that was due to it being a quiet Monday night, which may have affected the heating. However, the staff was lovely. The food was impressive. My aunt and I both started with pâté, while my cousin had halloumi fries, and they were delicious. For my main course, I had salt and pepper chicken, along with roasted rice, chips, and curry sauce, and it was absolutely amazing. I couldn't finish it because the portion was so large. My aunt ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables, which looked beautiful, and she said it tasted wonderful. My cousin had chicken curry with rice and naan, and she really enjoyed it, mentioning that it wasn't overly spicy, which was perfect since she isn't a fan of hot curries. We decided to skip dessert because we were so full after all that. Overall, I was very satisfied with my salt and pepper chicken!"

"First time visiting with my partner and month old. We were running a bit late as we struggled to find parking so of course I rang up to let them know we’d be about minutes late shouldn’t of been an issue! I was spoken to so rudely by a man who said “so you’re minutes late and going to be another minutes?” I explained the situation and he then hung up. I’ve worked in hospitality for years and I know, as would anyone, that this is not the way to speak to your customers! When we arrived the only man working was the manager which makes this even worse as it was obviously him who I had spoke to on the phone. A manager should definitely not be speaking to customers like this. We were then sat in an area of the restaurant that was right at the back where no other customers were sat!! There was plenty of nicer tables further at the front and I feel like the manager sat us here as punishment for being late?!?! If I wasn’t breastfeeding then I would have pulled him up on this but since we wanted a quieter area then we just sat there. The service was slow to being with, I think we had been forgotten about as we were so far back. The food was nice and the rest of the staff were great. But the way I was spoke to was out of order and to be honest he’s lucky he even had our custom after being spoke to like that before even arriving! We spoke to the manager at the end about the poor service we had received and he didn’t seem bothered in the slightest! Lovely restaurant with lovely views but the owners should be choosing more carefully as to who they let run this place!!! So disappointing"

"Very dismissive attitude by servers. We were served our main.... then servers brought food to table beside us. We then had to ask for the remainder of our food. At this time we hadn't been given our plates.... I asked for a plate to which the server looked confused and brought us 2 side plates ..... I had to then point out we needed 2 mains plates .... We asked for forks... which never arrived so my hubby went and got them himself... £104 bill for the priviledge.... next time we'll just get a takeaway from yoko 2 tables around us had to send food back as was cold."

"Group of 8 spending approx 50 per round and realised after 6/7 rounds the bar tenders were serving water with our mixers and charging for a measure of gin. We had suspicions regarding the gin being weak hence the need to check, and were very...disappointed upon realising it was in fact water with zero gin. We also had to chase for a final pint of rockshore to complete an earlier round. Not ideal as they wernt particularly busy so no real excuse. Grateful for a round of apple sours when the issue was raise but equally our previous 8 or so gins paid for and unlikely recieved (2 per round) would have covered the cost of these anyway. I would recommend avoiding Bellini's or stick to pints/bottled drinks that can't be watered down."
