"I work really close to Jamies and have come in for lunch a few times. Last night a friend and I went in for drinks after work, the manager served us initially and we ordered gin and tonics he said that doubles were...only but we confirmed we wanted singles. All fine. We took it in turns to get drinks and after the first drink would only get tonic to share. On my round at the bar I was served by one of the barmen and I asked for silent pools and tonic I had my card out ready to pay and he mumbled the price and very quickly tapped the machine next to my card, before I could properly look at the price and I was concerned that he had over charged me, so I asked for a receipt. The barman instantly became defensive and annoyed about the fact I'd asked for a receipt and on observing the receipt he had charged me for doubles I told him that I had not asked for doubles he shrugged his shoulders and smirked, I said again that I never asked for doubles, he said you are having Silent Pool gin they are always doubles and I told him that was absolute rubbish because my friend and I had been drinking singles of Silent Pool all night. The barman got very defensive and poured the drinks away, poured new drinks and said I would have to speak to a manager, so I waited. He then served someone else. A couple of minutes later I asked have you called the manager and the barman said no I said that I was waiting there until I saw a manager the barman then got the card machine out tapped in and told me to tap or insert my card I asked how I know that is a refund and that I'm not being charged a further he then cancelled the transaction and re-entered and this time it said refund!! I tapped my card to retrieve the refund and the card machine then required a managers pin to authorise it the manager then happened to pass by I told him that I had been charged for doubles that I didn't ask for and was waiting for my refund. The manager was very efficient and asked me exactly what it was I ordered and instantly refunded me the correct amount Absolutely awful barman hoping to overcharge drunk people hoping they wont notice and then when caught tries to refund you less than what you are owed. Even though the manager was kind and helpful, I dread to think how many other people this happens to and perhaps don't notice very dishonest way to behave. I will never go back to Jamies for lunch or a drink and will advise my friends and colleagues to go elsewhere."

"my friends and I visited the cuvee viii last week for a place to lunch. we thought as eating out to help was still on, we would test a little fancier than our typical high street restaurant chain. the best decision. adrian and another beautiful waitress sat my friends until I arrived, and took us in the inner, when a few people started to smoke on their terrace. the decor in every room is beautiful! they have 2 bars, one closer to the terrace, and one before the entrance next to the it area they can eat in both rooms and each area feels like another experience. they even showed us the private room for the rent on the upper floor, which also has a bar and a stunning space. the terrace/outside area was nice, I would like to enjoy more, but they allow smoking (a little bit for me, unfortunately) it is still completely enclosed so that it does not escape like the smoke. Nevertheless, this does not take away from the beauty of this opposite, in cooler climates I can see that they have heating outside to warm it a little. this part is attached to a bar area that looks like an ingenious nightclub. next time I'll be in the dining room, as it gets colder out. very exciting, as they still participate in the regulation in september. I had the lobster mac n cheese, and my friends had the pizzeria and veggie burger. the chef is brilliant! later we learned that he was a Michelin Star chef who appeared on master chef. the merciful produced a beautiful **** for me, as I do not drink, and the cocktails of my friend were amazing after them. this is a legitimate cocktailable, with bar employees who really know what they do, our drinks were an artwork. I would give the personal, service, decor, eat, cleanliness and cook 5 stars. I enjoyed this tasty and will be back, it is soothing to see them regularly clean all the surfaces, the floor, and wear masks, the toilets we also very clean that is quite rare in the rule."

"As a Visitor, wanting to experience a true flavour of The Lake District, in terms of Location/Scenery, Local Ales/Locally sourced Produce to eat, and Local Hospitality, you hope to find a real Gem of a Pub like this. It 's certainly, off the beaten track , and is frequented by, those in the know (in our case, my Wife, who had been there prior to us meeting), Walkers/Cyclists/Car Trippers who stumble across it by chance, and most importantly, the Locals. Best to book, if you 're wanting to eat Evening Meal there; it 's served in the Dining Room Area, so spaces are limited, and they fill up VERY quickly. The interior of the Pub is extremely, homely and Traditional, with Retro Signs, Notices, and Adverts, adorning the Walls of the Main Bar Area. Toilets are spotless, and accessible to all Guests. The Car Park is in a, Clearing opposite the Pub, and there are Seating Areas in the Main Bar Area/Dining Room, immediately outside the Pub, and on Benches across the Road from the Pub (which provide stunning views of the Locale). Want to know about the best Local Ales? Ask one of the Locals, who are extremely welcoming, and more than happy to share their knowledge with you (we settled on Tag Hag, and Brathay Gold). The Pub also has its own Micro Brewery, and we look forward to working our way through these particular Ales, at some point! Cannot recommend The Drunken Duck, highly enough. Go and see for yourself!"

"have recently been trying to explore Edinburgh a little more, and with the weather being as nice recently I could wander round Edinburgh without getting cold or rained on. During my wanders I discovered my new favourite coffee shop, Cairngorm Coffee Co. I love stumbling upon place like this, it's one of the reasons I love Edinburgh sp much. This coffee shop is on Fredrick Street, and other than the metal bike attached to the railing outside that says Cairngorm Coffee you almost wouldn't notice it was there. It is down some stairs and below ground level. It isn't huge, but it has a quite a few tables and seats, as well as seats on the street and also outside the door next to the stair. It also has two iPads built into one of its work benches which are free to use, which I think is a great touch!! Not to mention the free wifi if you needed it. It has a really relaxed vibe, and the music they play is so good, they played some really good stuff including the Kooks and James Bay, I loved it, I didn't need to stick my headphones in. In terms of food, it was super yummy! I had a grilled cheese sandwich which was incredible. I then had a salted caramel brownie which was also amazing, and the coffee was so good. They also had a water dispenser which had bits of water melon in it, so the water tasted a little of water melon and I really liked that. You could help yourself to as much or as little water as you wanted. This place has only been open a year, but I wish I hand discovered it much sooner, I just love it. I could spend all day in here easily, I highly recommend!!"
