"I am unable to provide a complete review of this restaurant as we arrived in the evening to find it closed down. It appears they had gone out of business that day, but the person in charge did not notify us. It was only a cook in the kitchen who informed us. It was disappointing, especially since we had booked it for a special birthday meal."

"After booking this on the 18/8/2022 for 4 people you asked for special requests , I specifically asked for the table at the window as it was a special birthday , when I arrived we got put so from the window I was in shock ! I never mentioned anything on our arrival due to a couple already been seated after us ,I checked my emails as to look if I have been previously told that this request was not available but I did not , it completely ruined the expectations of our experience , this is only positive feedback as if you can’t make requests don’t ask"

"We booked Afternoon Tea at Le Bouchon for a friend's birthday, but we were rather disappointed. In my opinion the restaurant was too busy, with tables very close to each other. It was also extremely hot in there. The food arrived nicely presented and the sandwiches were really fresh and tasty, but I wasn't keen on the sweet items. The chocolate muffin was incredibly dry and all 6 of us didn't eat them. When the waitress collected our plates I told her that none of could eat the muffins as they were so dry but she wasn't interested. The scones were fresh from the oven which was nice but they had a strange taste that was rather bitter. We ate them but one was enough. All in all not as good as we'd expected for the money."

"We discovered this bistro by chance and we are so happy that we did! The outdoor seating with a view of the river was lovely, with ample space between tables. The menu had plenty of options to choose from, but we ultimately decided on the mussels, which were excellent. The staff was very attentive and the service was very prompt. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this restaurant. Service: Dine-in."

"Traveling in the area and we had been told to check this place out... Best travel advice we've had! Warm, welcoming and friendly, you just feel relaxed and at home as soon as you step foot in the place... Then they bring out the food. And you see the prices, and you experience the service and atmosphere. And you book in again as soon as you possibly can. We ate the week before at the Hilton in Harrogate... "This is my absolute favourite place. I have to say I’ve been turned away more times than I’ve got in but that just makes me want it more! It’s very small but charming, warm cosy. Of course I should ring ahead to book but...my phone never has a signal so I just turn up. They do a particular raspberry cake whose name I can’t remember but it is gorgeous, moist flavoursome but not too sweet. Even my husband was impressed cute little cafes are his cup of tea really cos he’s a big guy. I sincerely hope they can ride out the current awful situation look forward to tip toeing up your stairs to see if you’ve got a small table just for me."

"we had a great breakfast, panini, coffee and warm milk with our three under 7 years girls today. what a cozy place and the dame that runs this tee room is simply wonderful. the coffee (latte) is as tasty as they may look out of the and hope the size of the coffee machine. it is rare to find an authentic, traditional tea room where they can have such a pleasant time and tasty eating, but this fits the bill."

"We stopped here for a look around the garden centre and decided to have lunch at the same time. The restaurant is warm,cosy and has a friendly ambience. You are requested to take a seat and choose what you want from the menu on the...table, then you go to the counter and place your order. The food arrives quite soon and in our case was delicious. We both had soup and a sandwich, in my case a hot spicy mushroom soup and a smoked salmon sandwich, my wife had a creamy cauliflower soup and a roast beef sandwich which came with a side tomato pickle, I tried it and it was really good. We both somewhat greedily decided to have a slice of cake to round off the meal but the most rounding off was to ourselves as the portions were magnificent. I had a ‘very carrots’ carrot cake which will go down as probably the best ever, and it was very rich, my wife had a very dark chocolate with stout cake, again, very rich. On top of everything else the whole meal was very reasonably priced. This is a super place, a little out of the way but well worth the effort of finding. Loved it !!"

It 's not often that, apart from the whole family saying 'hmmm ' after every bite, everyone is eating silently and we all have squeaky clean plates. The juices are very tasty! Just what 's needed to pick you up after a difficult morning working from home. The service is great and it 's wonderful to be able to support a family business like this. "We stopped here for lunch and are glad we did. I had the soup-of-the-day (sweet potato and chili), which was delicious and came with a thick slice of white bread and butter. Two friends got the bacon rolls and absolutely loved them they were...huge and satisfied their big man appetites. The other friend got the roast beef sandwich, which looked really big to me, and she enjoyed it. I was told that the coffees (Americano and Cappuccino) were also very good. The service from the lady at the counter was great. The restaurant was open to sit and eat inside and had carefully spaced tables because of the COVID restrictions, but we chose to eat at the picnic table outside because of the sunny weather. We would definitely stop here again!"
