"We went there for Sunday brunch to catch up with friends. I must give the place full marks for ambience and live jazz music. Setting is very pretty a mixture of modern western and Indian grandeur. Coming to food itself, drinks menu is very creative especially the way coconut water (currently very trendy) is exploited in various drinks. Starters had great variety -mix of Indian street food (pao bhaji, bhel puri, bhalla, dosa, tikki, paneer tikka, sheekh kebab etc and tasteful. Next comes the mains and that's where the place starts to falter. The lamb kofta was hard as golf balls while chicken xaccuti's chicken was cooked too much and was hard. Haryali fish was nice. "never left a restaurant until this place abysmal service we were in order with the 30-minute waiting period we were told was on personal questions. But after we had set ourselves, we stayed for 1.5 hours until we waited for food. no one has checked our table in the meantime; Once we said we left the manager right away, the chef could prepare our food in 5 minutes, why did we wait for 90 first place? for garlic bread?!"

"Set in the picturesque village of Blakeney where you can enjoy a walk before or after dinner, The Moorings has a simple yet pleasant decor where the team work hard to prepare fresh (mainly) fish dishes without a chip in sight. As with all fresh food restaurants the menu isn't over-long but provides plenty of choice. On the evening that we visited they were full and perhaps a little overworked as the wait was a tiny bit longer than you might expect but it was worth the wait. And they're busy for a reason. The desserts weren't quite up to the rest of the menu (sorry Angela) but our group throughly enjoyed our visit and would happily return."

"this place is delightful, fantastic village green setting.. The menu has some great dishes, very Spanish influenced. I had the Padron peppers and the garlic prawns. Sadly the prawns were ruined as to cook the garlic prawns you need raw prawns to cook with the..."

"Beautiful food! We shared garlic mushrooms, arancini and home made focaccia bread for starters. Mains were 2 of the specials, slow cooked lamb with roast vegetables and prawn risotto, and 2 pasta dishes. All were cooked to perfection and the flavours were exceptional. Staff here are knowledgeable, courteous and very friendly. We'll be back! Meal type: Dinner"

"I've been here about three times now with the family, including a wedding reception. Always a fairly stress free trip, plenty of parking and the staff are always friendly. The food is nothing short of excellent.... if you eat meat. The vegetarian options on my last visit were a risotto (I've already had it, you know what you're getting with risotto), a goats' cheese salad, vegetable ravioli and a burger. This time I ordered the burger, having seen what the meat ones look like. When it arrived I honestly thought there had been a mistake. A single slice of lettuce, a single slice of tomato and a deep fried something or other that was so oily I couldn't taste anything else. My Brother's pulled pork burger on the other hand was phenomenal. Why would I eat this when I could get better, for half the price at Wetherspoons? Really lame, really disappointed. It is not that difficult to produce quality vegetarian food. I actually felt quite upset and spent most of the meal staring at my half eaten food. Unfortunately, the next time the Nags Head is suggested I will veto it."

"Eaten here many time and food and service great, however came here on an evening , didn’t expect to get a table but happy to eat outside . Waitress then . Informs me the food we wanted couldn’t be served outside as it was too cold! . Apparently Chef is worried of bad reviews , I said my problem if food went cold but they wouldn’t budge In the meantime others came in and were given a table in front of us ….. So disappointed in the attitude and lack of concern ."

"Lively little pub, serving food and drink, where you'll be lucky to get a table or a parking space most of summer. Nice location right by the sea so great place to watch the world go by. Had a nice lunch here with friends and it was all around £25. Ordered drinks and sandwiches, which had generous fillings and came with fries and salad. My friends ham was a bit too thickly sliced for my liking, but they loved it and my grated cheese and pickle was just right for me. Will definitely visit again."

"It was just great to get back to a favourite venue for lunch. We had not been out for lunch more than a couple of times since the start of the lockdown and decided on the spur of the moment to go for a lunch...at the Battle Axes. Spacious car park which is always a plus. Warm welcome from Amanda. We hadn’t booked but she found us a table. Drinks were served and after a look at the extensive menu we were soon served. We both enjoyed our meal. It was good to be back and felt like visiting dear friends. Coffee was good. Toilet was spotless. All together a good visit back at last to a favourite pub. Thank you Amanda. Hope to see you again very soon."

"This restaurant has amazing staff who are kind, attentive and efficient. The food was really well presented and tasty. The menu is varied enough and there is a great choice of drinks and also desserts alongside the meals. We went as a family of four. 2 adults and 2 children with mains and desserts and a drink each. Total cost was £55. Very reasonable for the food, table service and a really nice environment. I would highly recommend and visit again."

"It's a rare restaurant which will give you that feeling of welcome, superb freshly cooked food, a wonderful ambience and owners who are real characters. OGGI Simply Italian is one of those. It's a great independent restaurant on London Road and we had an excellent time there. What can I say about Rino? He's a great guy! Very attentive, warm and friendly. Plus the added bonus of hearing a couple of Elvis numbers from him! All in all, a lovely experience and one we will certainly want to repeat."

"My family of four frequently visits Stanley Gate restaurant. We appreciate that they always accommodate last-minute bookings. The food is consistently amazing and the service and overall experience keep us coming back. Brand, the team leader, is very professional, attentive to customers, and stands out in the team. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone, including children, have a great experience. We are grateful to all the employees for another enjoyable visit, and especially to Brand for always taking care of us. Five stars."

"Book! Seriously we turned up on a thursday night for a meal and it was full. Luckily the staff are amazingly helpful and found a table for us within 5 minutes but we lucked out. Thursday night is steak night, two for 15quid but we went for the burger and lasagne. The gourment burger came with a surprise fried egg and was great value for money. The lasagne was average pub standard, but the pimms and cocktails were amazing. The 5 star rating is for the profiteroles and staff, the profiteroles are to die for, and the staff are super friendly. The atmosphere was great and the style a good mix of old and modern pub that worked really well. I would deffo come again if I was in the area."

"Notice on door to say only booked tables being served food!!? Should have been a red flag, although pub wasn’t very busy. The service was fairly prompt once seated. Mashed potato served with pie was inedible as cold and dry and looked like it was made days ago… Steak meals average. Some dishes on menu different to menu on line…on line menu needs updating. Once main meal completed took approx half and hour to be asked if we required desserts. not required) Experience felt shoddy and not the same as last time visited last year) Won’t be returning anytime soon and sad to say won’t be recommending."

"Alway been a fan of Chef Brewer as you know you are going to get good food and good value, so have been to many around our area, but The Fairmile is by far the BEST, we were greeted by Shaun who I honestly...thought was the manager by his totally efficient manner, had a lovely table and drinks were on the table in minutes, we had pate and the presentation was excellent, followed by the most succulent rump steak I’ve had in a very long while!!, will definitely be going again , and thank you Shaun for going the extra mile !! And thank you chefs!!"

"Went there three times on a three day visit! It was THAT good! The full Scottish breakfast was great (had never heard of Lorna sausage before it was delicious! , as was the French toast with maple syrup and bacon. For main courses we had the seared tuna, the gambas, the chicken with chimichurri and the scallops with parmesan risotto and as a side we got the garlic bread with cheese. We also tried the Whisky Cranachan for dessert yummy! They were all amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend and will definitely be back the next time I'm on Islay!"

"Had a beautiful meal here today with parents. Lovely pub, light and airy with mirrors on walls that reflect light, however remaining cosy with log fires. I'm vegetarian and enjoyed a fantastic mushroom and ale pie with vegan chips and gravy. Garden peas were cooked just right, lovely and sweet. Pie was packed and tasted amazing. This was from the lunch menu for under £10. Staff very friendly, served by a lovely waitress, Kirsty who was very attentive and helpful. Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu."
"My son, who is almost 20, was asked for ID at the restaurant. Unfortunately, he had left his driver's license at home, so the bartender refused to serve him. It is understandable that they have to follow strict guidelines to avoid serving alcohol to underage individuals. Despite this, we decided to go elsewhere. In response to the owner's post, I believe that their duty of care is to prevent anyone under the age of 18 from consuming alcohol. Their policy regarding serving 25 year olds is their own decision. I used to enjoy dining at the Baker's Arms and was a regular customer a few years ago. However, we are currently enjoying an amazing all-you-can-eat Chinese meal at Hatfield Galleria, complete with a pint of beer, which I highly recommend to everyone."
