"We booked a table for a meal and we were disappointed. First of all the car park has a few spare spaces, but they are for people staying, so there’s no parking nearby, you have to spend half an hour looking around Blakeney for a space, which is hard work, or spend £6 on parking in the nearby car park. Secondly, The choice of food is very limited with not many of the pub Staples you normally expect to get. Only two mains for meat lovers, one for fish lovers and a vegan option. The small plate meals are also scarce and don’t come with rice or chips. You have to have a side of chips if that’s what you want. Our hand cut chips were over cooked in old oil and were soggy and over salted. The burger was undercooked and tiny. Poor value for £18. Only top of the expensive prices, they bill you for the optional service charge by default, so unless you want to create a scene, you end up paying it if you’re remotely shy or low in confidence. Inside it’s clean and spacious, quite a few dogs, and you don’t get a choice of where to sit. It’s just not a special place to visit, and for the prices, it should be. Oh the Adnams on draft is exceptional, but that’s it. Avoid. Service: 4"

We had a fantastic dinner at The Moorings. The seafood risotto was amazing and the fish was extremely fresh. Very good value for money!!!

The WH has been taken over and renovated since we last ate thereThe decor is cleaner and crisper but the WH is now really a restaurant not a pub. View menu

We revisited The Moorings after three years and I'm so glad we did! We had a lovely three course meal with the main dish of seabass standing out. I asked for an alternative to the pancetta peas and the restaurant obliged, giving me samphire instead which was beautiful. The potato and green beans as sides were delicious too. Starters and pudding were good but definitely worth it for the Seabass and the overall service (attentive and friendly, especially the young waiter!

There is no special vegan menu here, but there is a note on the menu saying that they are taking diet preferences and it turns out that 3 nets can be easily veganized. I had a really nice homemade pepper and Cumin hummus for starters with roasted Focaccia. My main was a sweet potato and chickpeas tagine, which was delicious, but a little was let down by the lumpy couscous (as I do) and much too much rocket. Not sure if they do vegan puddings as I was too full! I'm staying in Blakeney for the week, so maybe I'm back... View menu

Excellent food from a fish focused menu. Not a huge selection but we much prefer a smaller number of dishes done well, which these were, with very well prepared and presented starters, mains and deserts. Friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating of my wife's food allergy. Desserts are excellent! Loses a star just for the two sittings, which means it feels a bit rushed if you are on the early evening sitting. However, I fully understand the financial need to do this as it is a small restaurant with limited covers.

Set in the picturesque village of Blakeney where you can enjoy a walk before or after dinner, The Moorings has a simple yet pleasant decor where the team work hard to prepare fresh (mainly) fish dishes without a chip in sight. As with all fresh food restaurants the menu isn't over-long but provides plenty of choice. On the evening that we visited they were full and perhaps a little overworked as the wait was a tiny bit longer than you might expect but it was worth the wait. And they're busy for a reason. The desserts weren't quite up to the rest of the menu (sorry Angela) but our group throughly enjoyed our visit and would happily return.

"Upon arrival we were greeted well and shown to our table. The establishment is very welcoming and the tables well presented and chairs are comfortable and in keeping with the vibrant and classy atmosphere of the venue. Service was good for drinks, and the menu was explained to us well and there was plenty to choose from both regular and special options very good selection from the children’s menu too. We opted for the soup starter which was beetroot soup, we’ve never actually seen that offered anywhere previously, so was worth a punt! My wife found the soup too rich but I really enjoyed it and I’d go as far to say it’s ONE OF THE BEST soups I’ve ever tasted. The staff enquired if all was ok and as my wife wasn’t so keen on the soup, they offered her a complimentary ham hock starter, which was also exceptional this was a nice touch, they didn’t need to do this, as the soup was fine just not to my wife’s taste, so bonus points there for empathy and customer service. For the mains, we both ordered the roasts (beef and pork respectively) and my daughter had sausages, chips and veg. My daughter really enjoyed the sausages, chips and isn’t generally keen on the veg but really liked the leeks and greens they must have been tasty, as she’s a very fussy eater as a four year old. The roasts were amazing and again ONE OF THE BEST we’ve had in a long time!! I’d sampled the beef as well as the pork and I cannot fault anything about these roasts, presented well, good portion sizes and tasty as anything. Gravy made to suite the meat being offered too and not some generic offering. We really enjoyed our ‘experience’ here and we really do recommend you visit and try for yourselves, this is a gem and the prices are very reasonable for what’s being offered here and the service is amazing. Now on to the bad points there were none, so nice and easy!!! Great work guys, keep up the great work, Gordon Ramsey would be proud of this place I suspect, if he were to complete one of his famous visits!!! Take care and see you again!!"
