"Lovely spot right by the canal. Service was a little slow to start. They hit two of my pet peeves immediately-offered water we said still. Offered bread we said yes. Charged us £15 for two bottles of water and £10 for two small basket of bread. Charging for these items was not listed on the menu, nor mentioned by the staff. When I went to their website it noted Happy Hour-but failed to mention it was only for bar seating. All this said, my entree of sea bass was excellent. My partner had the brisket and was amazed how it just fell off the bone. Would go again, just not get clipped for water and bread."

"Had a lovely overnight stay and a meal here yesterday! The decor is LOVELY, gives a great warm feeling. Plenty of drinks on offer! The staff are so lovely and welcoming! I wouldn’t hesitate bringing my 3 kids in here!! The rooms are lovely and cosy. I could have stayed all day the food we had was lovely. The Filipino pork was perfect! 100% recommend the Shepherd we will defo be returning! Thankyou for having us!! ????"

"We visited on a Sunday lunchtime in early August to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We had booked and were offered a table inside the restaurant (pub? which was all but empty while it was a nice day outside. We asked if we could be seated outside to be able to enjoy the weather and to watch the world go by. We were told very rudely If there 's a table out there then you can eat out there, but you can 't run a tab and you have to order at the bar . We did as we were told, trying to make light of the rudeness. To be fair, it was only one of the staff who had this unfortunate attitude. We ordered drinks at the bar and then our food There 's a 30 minute wait the rude server told us. Dressed Crab, Mussels, and a fish and chips. Turned out there were no mussels left, so we ordered another fish and chips. The food, when it arrive (not as long as 30 minutes was ok, but only ok. My mother 's fish and chips was overdone and dry. Mine was less well cooked, but still rather bland and fish was dry. The whole experience was rather disappointing. We cut our losses and left to eat an ice cream elsewhere. It would hurt any of the staff to crack a smile and perhaps a lesson in manners and customer service wouldn 't go amiss."

"Spoilt by a magnificent day, we were able to enjoy our coffee au-dehors and appreciate Howth in the far background and the bustling park in the foreground. Some observations: Accessibility: Steps up to the entrance of Fallon Byrne's have no handrail for the elderly. Sustainability: no recycling is done (at least it's not evident as everything ends up in a bin as pictured below). Food experience: just had a coffee that was hot and creamy. Would have liked a scone, but sadly all were sold out! Some interesting products sold in the shop: e.g., garlic and vinegar-flavoured crisps from Spain the flavour really tickled my taste buds! Place to visit again. Would be a real step forward if Fallon Byrne could at least begin to segregate e.g. their plastic waste, which is actually mushrooming for everyone since the onslaught of . Suggestion: start with some coloured bins (see Ireland's National Waste policy for more detail)."

"I've been lucky to be able to photograph for 2 weddings at the Anglers Rest now and both times have been amazing. The guys are so accomadating and Agi is worth her weight in gold she's a superstar. Lovely venue, lovely staff and even better food highly recommended for any couple who wants that intimate and more personal alternative to the big hotels. "We were celebrating a 40th birthday for my son 6 people in total. We ordered whilst having drink outside in the garden. However, when our food arrived there were several issues: 1. I had to remind the staff that my starter came with Fig Chutney it had been forgotten. 2. It was assumed that white toast would be my choice with my pate I should be asked as many people have intolerance to white bread 3. The Prawn Cocktail was very basic 4. Worse of all they forgot one of the £35 Sirloin Steaks!! Surely it's not difficult to know when there are 6 people present that it's likely to be 6 main courses. We were told it was being done but the issue is that it not only needs cooking but it needs to rest too my son who's birthday it was knows that is correct. So instead we would get a quickly prepared steak and at £35 no thanks!! All in all the experience was pretty poor. We won't be rushing back!"

"stay here for 2 nights made the mistake to take a big volvo through the front entrance it was simply unworn, there is a much easier wise when they turn the pub right and right again our debt for not asking. we had a superior room, so a parking space booked and was easily found how marked for us. check in easy and fast, nice comfortable room -21. we had dinner twice, which was beautiful, served quickly by attentive employees huge screaming after sylvia, who was born for hospitable, what a star, efficient, funny exceptionally attentive to all not lose them she is a massive asset. the breakfast is also beautiful. the magnificent atmospheric bar, all wrapped in a beautiful village, rushed to see no spirit that is wonderful to them for our Pre-Xmas trip."

"After we ordered drinks at the bar, we placed our food order. The server informed us there would be a 30-minute wait. We ordered dressed crab, mussels, and fish and chips, but were told that there were no mussels left. So, we opted for another serving of fish and chips instead. When the food finally arrived (well before the 30-minute wait), it was just okay. My mother’s fish and chips were overcooked and dry, while mine was slightly better but still bland and dry as well. Overall, the experience was quite disappointing. We decided to cut our losses and left to get ice cream elsewhere. It wouldn’t hurt the staff to show a smile, and a lesson in manners and customer service would certainly be beneficial."

"For the longest time, I viewed bagels as unsweetened donuts that didn't quite make sense with pastrami and cream cheese. Then I visited the Bagel Factory and voila! They were not donuts at all, but rather the ideal breakfast I had been craving for a while. The great thing about bagels is that they can be enjoyed anywhere. The Bagel Factory always has amazing deals with a cup of coffee ready to go, making it the perfect start to my day."

"My partner and I were really looking forward to this meal. She mentioned that she hadn't had Chinese food in a while and wanted to satisfy her craving. Unfortunately, this wasn't the right place for it. The food was just average, and while the service was decent, the atmosphere felt lacking since it was a midweek visit. However, when we received the bill, I found it quite excessive for what we had. Overall, it was a bit of an anticlimax and didn't convince me to choose Chinese over a Thai meal."

"COELIAC We ordered a takeaway on route to the New Forest for our holiday. I found this gem from reccomendations from social media after lots of coeliac said they do a Gluten free menu and treat allergies very seriously. We ordered so much food as I took advantage of not having had a chinese in sooooooo long but this was SO GOOD and generally one of the best Chinese’s I have ever had. (Please get the Singapore noodles salt and chilli chicken they were to die for!!!!! We had our campervan and they even let us sit and eat our takeaway in the van in the carpark. "great place. Last Saturday at al khayma I dim with my friends a group of 7 of us, and I must say it was another experience. cleverly designed and the menu was very good. to be Arabic, eating was before place! well done chef. service was impeccably very polite. in comparison to restaurants in ilford area it is worth paying extra and they feel in a west end joint. as mentioned from the viewer below, I think that they will pay a little more, but they need to look at the service, the ambiente and their travel time to the west end!. is it halal, well next time you just have to ask. youngs keep it all up, great place, great food, great experience."

"We are a darts doms group been friends for years two of the girls was 60 and two was 70 so for 6 months we planned our birthdays We saw viva and we thought that's would great for birthday party how wronge we were got there at 6 30 asked for drinks then from here all went wronge drinks took ages to come no ice then the starters came I had the mushrooms you guessed was cold the at 7 50 meal came lamb shank was okay veg was cold and hard mash was like cement then they decided to turn lights of we had to use our phone light what made it worse show didn't start for 20 mins we left our meals couldn't get any body attention to complain put you wouldn't because they definitely short of staff plates was left on our table for hour and half it was making me feeling sick looking at dirty plates ordered cake and champagne for the birthday girls came at end of night plus we booked a table for 9 then later decided to put 2 strangers on our table if you ask me they overbooked a lot of hard work went in to our special birthday and all I can say to viva a big thanks for making our birthdays night from hell if you are reading this to me a big favour don't go I definitely won't let'this dropp my mission is to let everybody know what we went through and please avoid"
