"this was our second visit and the standard of the food has decreased considerably. we had the same as before, the smokeys platter. the ribs were hard and overlooked. the brisket dry and chicken leg bland. the black rate was the best on the plate. the plate was also smaller than before. the service was not present, we had to ask for cutlery for our eating. we were not asked how our food was or we wanted more drinks etc....the atmosphere was very quiet. we could hardly hear behindground music. "My experience with the 'penny pizza' promotion at this restaurant was not very positive. Despite being a good deal, one of the pizzas arrived much later than the others, an extra pizza was charged on the bill, and the quality of the pizzas was disappointing. "This location is split into two areas - a bar and a restaurant. The bar can get a bit loud, especially on a Friday night, so we decided to dine in the restaurant. "Today, my aunt and I visited this restaurant. It was our first time seeing each other since lockdown, so we thought it would be nice to go out for lunch. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our experience. We arrived at 11:55am and there were only two other tables of two already seated. We gave our names for track and trace, got shown to our table, and then waited for someone to come take our order for about 15-20 minutes. For starters, my aunt had pate and I had garlic mushrooms, which took 35-40 minutes to arrive. We then waited for our mains – scampi for my aunt and chicken curry for myself. After nearly 50 minutes of waiting, I asked how much longer it would be, only to be told another 15-20 minutes. In the meantime, a table of four were seated and immediately served with pizzas and burgers. When I inquired why they were served so quickly, I was told it was because they skipped starters. The couple next to us were still waiting for their food. Frustrated, my aunt and I decided to cancel our mains. To our surprise, they still charged us for the starters and drinks. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant."

"Having booked a table for 9.30 we arrived to be told the fryers had been turned off and we could only have main courses and only one special was available! The waitress was apologetic but our greeting from another member of staff was very luke warm. Clearly annoyed at having to serve us. Why take a booking if you don't want to serve at that time. Thankfully, what we did eat was delicious and the waitress did her best to cover up what was clearly an awkward situation....asked if we wanted pudding whilst still eating our main as they wanted to send staff home! Had we been a walk in, fair enough but we had booked. Lovely food but not a great experience!"

"The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday, but I waited over 90 minutes for a cheeseboard. When I chased after about 50 minutes, I was told by the supervisor that they were working on it. The supervisor later came and asked if it was the burger I had ordered, even though I had confirmed it was the cheeseboard. After waiting for 90 minutes, I went to the bar and canceled my order. However, a staff member informed me that they couldn't refund me and I would have to see reception. This was a disappointing customer service experience. The only positives were the lady behind the bar who tried her best to help in a courteous manner, and the guy on reception who handled the situation professionally. Overall, it was a bad experience for a simple cheeseboard order."

"I booked a couple of rooms for two nights and, to be honest, I didn't expect much for the price. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities at the Belmill. The rooms were spotless - my wife even did a thorough inspection and gave it 10/10 for cleanliness. The shower room was very modern with double shower heads and complimentary toiletries. The tea/coffee tray was well stocked with delicious biscuits. The towels were large, fluffy, and white. The bed had crisp white linens and was comfortable. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast started a bit late, but it was worth the wait. The next morning, a lovely basket of fresh towels, toiletries, and biscuits was left outside our door with a welcoming note from Tricia, letting us know to ask for more towels if needed. I've been to many hotels, but the warm welcome we received at the Belmill made me eager to return."

We asked if we could take a seat in the corner, but were told no, but that we could sit outside or go along the road to Ga Gas 's for a drink. It was raining lightly, so outside was not an option. "Our prepaid voucher was valid for 1 year, but we were surprised to be asked for an additional £2 to cover a price increase. The sandwiches were uninspired and cold, as if they had been taken straight from the fridge. The cakes were tasty, but also served cold. The scones, however, were delicious. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. With some more thought put into the afternoon tea menu, it could easily be transformed into the delightful treat it should be. The atmosphere was a bit somber, and adding more light could make the restaurant feel cheerier during the day. These improvements are simple fixes that could greatly enhance the overall experience."

"30/07/2022 This place goes by at least 3 different names, ‘Say Queso’ on Google, ‘Papi Taco’ on the take-out apps and ‘Desperados’ in person. Overall the food was extremely disappointing and the pictures on the apps incredibly misleading. Firstly, the tacos. Admittedly, they do not specifically say hard or soft shell, but what came was essentially bland slop in a wrap. They did not give us any of the sauces that we paid for, either on the tacos or separately. So there was no saving grace there. Secondly, the Nachos. We have no idea what kind of sauce was on this but it was very strange. I won’t say it was bad as that seems to be more of a matter of opinion. However, it was simply soaked in this sauce, with a bit of cheddar sprinkled over it and nothing else. Thirdly, the quesadillas. We went with plain cheese and it was still terrible. How do you mess up cheese wrap heat? I will say, it was delivered very quickly and the curly fries were decent. Overall, I’d recommend avoiding this place."

"The pub is located in a lovely setting, with the restaurant separate from the main bar. The garden is very pleasant. The food was excellent; I had the lobster linguine and enjoyed every last bite. "they had no record about our booking and when I produced the email, we were not welcomed at all. the younger staff were walking around and were very polite when they got their attention, but over the entire service was terrible. the risotto was like rice pudding, but the rest of the food was nice. we had to go after 2 hours and didn't even have on the pudding menu, it was vatertag and she seemed surprised that they were busy."
