"The food was delicious, the flavours, textures and portions were perfect. I had the duck to start (run don't walk), the pork main (WOW) and the apple and treacle tart to finish. My partner and I both had the pork belly which was melt in the mouth good, the combination of flavours from the pumpkin, butternut squash and the sauce were heavenly. The service was exceptional, Olivia and Emily were friendly and checked in on us enough to know we were being looked after without intruding on our meal. It's a small restaurant (approx 7 tables), the atmosphere was the perfect blend of busy but not crowded, with compliments to the chef floating in the air. We'll definitely be booking in advance (you have to) the next time we come to Whitby. "I recently visited Sander's Yard bistro for the second time and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is located in a charming courtyard, the staff were attentive, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious. I ordered the vegan platter and was impressed with the fresh ingredients and attention to detail in preparation. There were plenty of vegetarian options available, including approximately five vegan choices. Sander's Yard bistro is now my top choice for dining in Whitby."

"I have Coeliac Disease so we chose this place for breakfast as they had an abundance of gluten free options and was only a short walk from our hotel. I’m so glad we did as the staff were very friendly and attentive. Quick service. It was lovely to see that they were a dog friendly cafe as well (they even have a dog menu!! which was a lovely bonus to see all the lovely dogs enjoying some breakfast as well. I had the gluten free “Eggs a la swamp” which was poached eggs with a gluten free ciabatta roll, smashed avocado and a roasted tomato sauce. My non-gf partner had Eggs Royale. It was absolutely delicious and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection! Unfortunately we aren’t local but if we are ever back in Whitby, we would definitely go back!"

"It was such a pleasant experience in here. Me and my bf went there for lunch, and we sat in a lovely booth with a sea view. I ordered mussels cooked in white wine and cream sauce. My bf had the prawn cocktail. As a main we both had the lobster thermidor. The quality of food here is top notch. And service from staff was excellent. Our server Eammon in particular really looked after us well and made sure everything was ok. I highly recomend this place if you are looking for a nice seafood meal. "Visited this place in 2018 and had a great lunch, never been able to get back in since as its always busy. Managed to book a table for Sunday and noticed how quiet it was. The food was average, add the price of the dishes and that average becomes poor. We had Lobster £50, halibut £38 and linguine £22. All fair prices if cooked to a high standard, however all three dishes were a little lack luster and not what we were hoping for. It may explain the reason it was quite ? The service was excellent, very attenuative and polite. They just need to get the food quality back up there !"
