"Super friendly restaurant, with a family feel. We had the set menu as there were a few of us. (The set menu is basically everything! The starters were a selection of mezes a good variety, plenty of it and tasty too. The main course was outstanding: a delicious falling off the bone lamb joint, beef, chicken, fish, squid and pork. All delicious. There was live music so there was a Friday night party atmosphere everyone in there seemed to be having a great time. Highly recommended we'll be back!"

"The Ouzo and Olive welcomes you into a warm atmosphere with a great Greek aesthetic. The service is good and friendly. The food doesn't take long and is excellent, everything tastes fresh, for example Kalamari which is easy to get wrong is perfectly done. Even the bread is fresh and given lots of hearty olive oil. Prices are good and fair, we paid £47 for 5 dishes, 2 drinks (the pims comes with style) and 2 desserts. The desserts were really special. A true gem in our little town of Caernarfon, would recommend. But please make sure you book a table beforehand especially on Saturdays and Fridays."

"We chose The World's End on a bit of a whim, as the local pub to where we were staying was closed for the evening. My goodness me what a great choice we made! The food was incredible and service was exceptional. Both the waiter and waitress were extremely attentive to our needs and held very pleasant conversations. Our bill was on the higher side but we didn't hold back on our choices of food and drink as it was a special evening for us. The only critical observation made was that it was uncomfortably warm, although not too chilly outside did feel overly warm. Obviously can't please everyone when it comes to temperatures! Absolutely would recommend to anyone I know passing or visiting the area and we will definitely be returning on our next trip."

"We picked Kouros Cafe for an evening meal for something a bit different as we don't have a Greek restaurant nearby at home. We're glad we did! The food was excellent. We were spoilt for choice as we wanted to try a lot of the menu. We had starters of Spetsofai and Spanakopitakia which were both amazing and good portions for a starter. For mains we tried Kleftiko and of course the Moussaka which was appreciated on a cold winter evening. The only regret is we were too full to try dessert as the Portokalopita sounded amazing! The restaurant is a little bit further from the main street in Chapel-en-le-Frith and that might be why it was a little quieter than other restaurants on a Saturday. It certainly isn't the food which was splendid. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. We appreciated them helping teach us how to pronounce some of the dishes which we were unfamiliar with. We hope to return some day to try more of the menu."

"I loved it! very attentive friendly staff. two of us dined and shared a mixed tauchant with warm Pitta bread. Dip option did not come by default with taramasalata that we love so that they included some anyway without additional costs. my partner had a melt in the mouth lamm kleftico for porn that came with a choice of rice, herby kartoffeln or chips. I chose the mousakka (delicious) that came to her. I wanted to order a small Greek salate to go with it, but instead our beautiful waiter said he would anyway contain some on the side. a lot, with a beautiful wedge of Feta cheese. dessert was a piece of flaky baklava for him, and a bright heavenly orange cake for me, with a few mythos, and a few glasses local Greek wine. authentic Greek cuisine and hospitality best. we will be coming back"

"Compared to the typical pub menu in the Lake District, this restaurant offers a separate (short) menu of vegan options. There are fewer choices for starters and desserts unless one is a vegetarian. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, willing to veganize dishes like the garlauchbrot. Contrary to a previous negative review suggesting that the vegan dishes are microwaved, the meal I had, which included a delicious mushroom ragu with almond crumb, potatoes, and vegetables, was outstanding. If anyone knows where to find a similar dish in a supermarket, please let me know because it was excellent."

"Have visited this restaurant every year for the last 10 years when on holiday usually two visits per trip because the food is consistently excellent and the service is outstanding. A bit more pricey than most in the area but we feel it is well worth it for the excellent experience. Sadly it was not to be on this occasion, after being seated it took quite some time to tale an order, we had to ask for a drinks order to be taken, it took half an hour for the drinks to arrive, the starters were lovely but come the mains they did not know which of the two steaks were which, one was both were ordered with French fries one came with mashed potatoes the other with fried potato slices. Once those errors were sorted we all ended up eating out of sequence and it experience was so disjointed it was ruined. We had been out to celebrate an anniversary so disappointing the food when we eventually got what we ordered remains excellent but there were only two front of house staff for twenty plus tables. Won’t be back this trip and will not return until I get a recommendation that the service is a lot better"

"Very good Greek food in a cozy small restaurant (about 12 tables , located in a strip mall on Applegate Rd. After Taverna Ouzo closed its doors (coincidentally, it was located on the same Applegate Rd. quite a few years ago, there weren 't any authentic Greek restaurants in the area, so we are happy with our new finding. Faros (apparently, owned, managed, and served by people of Greek descent serves fully authentic and deliciously prepared Greek cuisine. The menu is extensive, there is a variety of choices for every taste and like. The food is fresh, the grilled dishes are thoroughly prepared to perfection. The hot appetizers platter Zesta pikilia tis pareas (assortment of tiropitakia, keftedakia, dolmadakia, spanakopitakia, and gigantes is ideal for two people and is offered for a budget friendly price of $20.5. The main courses, both traditional Greek specialties, souvlaki, and gyro platters are on the bigger side, definitely guaranteeing a need for box it up, please . The overall pricing is in today 's day and age certainly decent. Undoubtedly, highly recommended."

"Our last visit to Helensburgh was in 2016, and we remembered The Ginger Breadman and thought we'd re visit again for breakfast. Imagine our disappointment to find the East Clyde Street place shut (open weekends only apparently). But further investigation led us to Sinclair Street new premises only opened this week! COVID 19 rules are in full swing, but we were shown to a table that was thankfully free... it's very popular. The chap at the next table had what appeared to be a very enticing sausage breakfast. But we opted for a roll with black pudding for his lordship, and a roll with bacon and egg for me. Wow! The brioche rolls tip top fresh, and super tasty ingredients. The kitchen is compact, so you can see the chefs putting together your food, but also baking and decorating sponges and the lovely fresh produce used. Our server, a very personable young lady, was working her socks off. Thank you. One minor quibble? The cup size for cappuccino is a bit small!"

"The restaurant was absolutely freezing no heating on which made our food go cold within minutes, we even had to eat with our coats on, my mum is 86yrs old and I had to keep her hands warm by rubbing them with mine every few minutes. I complained to the waitress and she was in full agreement about the restaurant not having heating, many others had complained. She was very nice and said she had given the feedback to her manager Even my mums cuppa of hot tea was cold after 10mins, we had to ask for another one For £36 this was not worth the money Cold restaurant and cold food Disgusting. And also the add the light in the disable toilet did not work so I had to take my mum into the ladies toilets and help her. I think I should be offered some discount voucher for such a terrible experience I would appreciate some acknowledgment about this complaint Parking: Good parking"

"It was so nice to see this pub come into the millennium by the new owners in covid. Huge menu to choose from. Although this is a Greek menu, they still had a good choice for bar classics. Had the salmon which was juicy and fresh. My friend had a beef Greek stew and loved it. Great atmosphere and busy on weekdays so best to book. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5"

"A lovely old pub which has been given a contemporary makeover. Short lunch menu with some classics such as the delicious honey glazed ham with perfectly fried eggs and crisp skin on chips. Home made spanakopita triangles were served with a vibrant Greek salad. Great puddings included a plum and apple crumble with a crème anglaise, an individual raspberry pavlova and an indulgent warm chocolate brownie with salted caramel and cream. Service is charming and included a lovely gesture of being able to taste the IPA’s before choosing. Attractive enclosed gardens at the back with patio heaters add to the charm. Definitely worth the walk away from the crowds to visit this wee gem."

"After reading reviews on this pub prior to our visit, my partner and I felt confident that we would have a good experience (I should point out that my partner and I rarely complain). We were shown to our table, then left to make our choices the menu looked inviting. Once the food was ordered we had quite a wait. I had ordered the duck which, presentation wise looked good, although it appeared slightly under done and was extremely chewy, I could barely cut into it. My partner had the fish which again looked lovely, but tasted bland, I tried some and thought it was lacking any flavour, the sauce around it was pretty tasteless too. I ended up asking for something else, which the waitress agreed to. My partner then had to eat his meal whilst I waited for another dish to arrive (we didn’t want him eating cold fish and cold greens). After about 15 minutes the food arrived (and I do understand that you cannot make food appear in a couple of minutes). The pie and mash brought to me looked very appetising, with a separate bowl of greens and carrots. This dish tasted much better than the first, the pastry was lovely, although there wasn’t much inside the pie, mostly gravy, and about two very tiny bits of beef and a couple of bits of kidney. After we finished our meals we had another long wait. We had to ask for more water, and we also had to request desserts. Another long wait and the desserts arrived. Again these looked very appetising, and we did demolish them despite tasting something bitter in the sauce. Maybe the butter was slightly burnt in the process of making it. Anyhow, once we’d finished we just wanted to get going. I went to the bar to pay and waited a couple of minutes whilst the waitress appeared to be processing receipts. At no point did anyone ask how our food was, which is fine as it’s just a pub at the end of the day, but given this pub has won awards we thought the pub as a whole would have reflected this both in terms of food and service. For the price you’d expect better. We would not recommend this pub based on our own experience, and the disappointing food and service."

"It was absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed two margaritas and a cheeseburger, and the restaurant felt like a charming oasis, beautifully decorated in a whimsical style. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable. As an American, I truly appreciated the enchanting atmosphere. This was definitely a standout experience, bringing back fond memories of my childhood."

"Stopped for a drink yesterday after visiting the Cove. Eventually served by a young guy who clearly didn 't want him, or me, to be there. This was one of those don 't write many reviews, but the experience was remarkably bad things. Zero greeting, acting put out, mono-sibyllic responses to my requests. The encounter ended with a point towards the card machine as he departed without a word. I dare say that repeat business doesn 't have to be the strategy when you 're sitting down the road from an amazing natural wonder and everyone has to walk past your pub, but still, poor effort."
