"Oxford has two vegan eateries, and co-incidentally they 're at either end of the Cowley Road shopping precinct, one of the most diverse shopping areas in Britain (It was formerly known as East Avenue but it 's grown well beyond that . Meli is at the city end of the road right by the bus stop if you 're not planning to walk (Ask for 'The Plain ' but the walk from Oxford is a pleasant one, weather permitting. The cafe has just three tables. A two seater, a four seater, and an eight (Or more seater, but on a good day you might want to buy takeaway and walk back to Magdalen Bridge. The food is what it is with no pretence. It is also totally home made and delicious. The coffee is made with care, the tea... Well I liked it, but if there 's anything that people can disagree about it 's their tea, I always hesitate to recommend tea! One final point, if you 're non-vegan, fear not, neither am I. But I know what I like."

"Over the weekend, we drove to Colwick and decided to try out Cuzina, a recommended restaurant in the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and the extensive menu. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see that they had a good selection of vegetarian options for myself and my family. Despite not having read any reviews beforehand, we were thrilled to find that the food was delicious and we all had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others."

"This small taverna is fantastic. The food was incredible. As someone who is gluten free, I was impressed with how knowledgeable and accommodating both servers were. We ordered the mixed meze and not only was the food delicious, but there was a generous amount of it. I might have to go up a jean size after this meal! I will definitely come back to this place."

"I recently visited the king william iw pub in dorking and what magical place it is. in a magnificent landscape, the pub offers a magnificent view, a relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. the pub has a row of outdoor terraces, perfect for catching the sun or sitting in the shade. the food was excellent (calamari, followed by entensalat) and all at a very reasonable price. the staff was attentive and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend if they are ever in this part of the world, worth a visit or two."

"restaurant was absolutely freezing. even the staff put their coats on. slow service due to staff chatting or being on their phones. quite clearly advertised 2 courses for £17.50 but when it came to getting the bill we were charged full price. queried this but were told that offer ended in October despite it still being in black and white on the menu. the meatballs completely fell apart so it may as well just have been a bowl of mince. chicken and pitta were bland and burnt. they've completely lost the family run restaurant feeling which is a shame. "We had a fabulous meal at Zante this evening. The chef made us feel right at home, even though the menu looked much different than what we usually see in the States. I had the Greek salad; the portion size is quite large, but it was delicious. My husband had the grilled olive bread. He loved it. For mains, we went with chicken pitta skepasti (a sort of grilled sandwich and the lamb stiffado, a stewed lamb dish. The latter was so good, I wanted to lick the plate. Husband also like the skepasti, which had great flavors. The chef talked us into a piece (a large piece! of baklava. Not too sweet (yay! and delicious. The restaurant is across the walkway from an NHS building. Kinda hard to find, but worth it."

"We spent the best part of the day at westward Ho! We went for dinner here on the 21st September 2023 had the best food. I had a chicken wild mushroom pie, mash, cabbage gravy my partner had the chicken burger with chips salad. We both finished everything on the plate as the portion sizes were just right. This set us up for the afternoon of crabbing swimming. Lovely staff too Price per person: £10–20"

"With all the amazing things to do when visiting London it's pretty crazy to say it but dining here was one of our favorite and most memorable parts of the trip. We came on a Saturday without a reservation and they found a way to fit us in. We asked our waiter Ricardo for recommendations and he was spot on. Everyone loved what they had. Even the owner came over to the table to check on us a couple times and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next night with our two sons! We knew they would love the food and we were confident we would find even more on the menu to try. We were right on both counts. It was another spectacular night! We had Ricardo again, and the owner came by several times and even gave us some small samples of things to try. This place is a gem! If you have the chance to try it I can't recommend it highly enough!"

"It was so good to visit The Wrestlers again (I love that name! after not visiting the area for number of years.We’d had a lovely afternoon walking across the Heath and visiting Hampstead, and were looking for a good pub/restaurant to finish our day with a nice meal.It’s so nice and cosy inside lots of beams, dark wood and character, and we found a nice comfortable corner to relax with our drinks.My partner ordered the goat’s cheese salad, which she really loved (and shared a bit with me so I could enjoy it too! , and I had the excellent Thai green curry.The food was very prompt, and the service friendly and helpful. We liked the candlelit ambience too!We really enjoyed our visit, and it made for a perfect end to our day.Thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome and for the fab meals we will def be back."

"Most of the food was available as family style dishes, where you could take a half order (sufficient to share between 2-3) or a full order (sufficient to share between 4-5). We were a family of 4 and tried two half orders, one with beef, vegetables and potatoes and one with beans and vegetables. Both were delicious. There were many vegetarian and meat options available and it seems like they change regularly. You can also purchase individual greek salads and there were some other options for single diners. The cafe has a couple of large tables inside and some smaller tables outside. It is beautifully decorated and you really do feel like you are eating home cooking. Service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended."

"Sometimes the best pubs are the ones you find unexpectedly. Whilst on my way to the Cotswolds, feeling peckish I passed this pub and decided to stop and see if they were doing lunch. I’m under the impression they had only just opened up for the day as it was rather cold inside and the fire had just been lit up. They had in fact just turned the fryers on and were doing lunch. I could tell by the offset this pub was very much a no thrills, pub grub type establishment and sometimes that is just all you need. I opted for a fish finger sandwich and side salad and it was really nice, filled the gap just nicely and at just £7.95 you can’t complain. How refreshing it was, to see a pub menu that wasn’t over the top expensive. Now that’s a proper pub. Food you can afford. £9.95 for Macaroni Cheese for example. Where do you find prices like that in this day and age? Yes I’m sure not all of the food is made fresh on site, some is most likely to be packeted but seeing this sort of price for a meal in this day and age is just so rare to find and honestly I was impressed. The couple running the pub (in particular the lady) couldn’t have been more accomodating and made sure we were warm enough and were happy with everything. The pub dog was also adorable. This pub deserves more recognition, because not many places like this exist anymore."

"Always a popular spot. Current restrictions have limited sitting in. The hot deli sandwiches are so tasty and highly recommended. We always opt for a mixed salad box to sample the selection as all the salads are great and full of flavour. The pastries look lovely and golden. Great value for money and definitely fast becoming a regular spot when heading to Strathaven. One thing...A better soft drink selection would be great. We get the whole artisan approach...but tbh the majority are blah or yuk! Can we just have a full fat coke please.... and from the only people really justified to call it that!? I'd rather spend all my money here than buy my lunch and then head to the co-op for a decent drink. Thanks."

"we picked here for our double date night. we was struck straight away by the great layout and decor...effort has gone in. we all ordered from a very helpful and attentive waiter. the foot arrived prompt and plentiful! we loved the food, felt authentic too. we had some good banter with the waiter about how good it was which led the owner to come and chat to us. its great to go somewhere that is so attentive and has that personal touch. for me its that attention which makes this place special. we will be back again"

"Vegan? I wouldn't even want to go near anything related to this word. Before going to this restaurant I had no understanding of what actually vegan food tastes like. This restaurant has completely changed my views on vegan food and would like to try out more different things! Love the vibes here, this is a great cafe with delicious vegan dishes and delicious drinks. This is a place to take a break from everything else, have a rest and take in the time here. Special recommended drinks are the matcha latte, and the turmeric latte. The restaurant also provided flower teas with different flavours, containing mint as it was very refreshing. The food was fantastic, I don't remember the names exactly on the menu but the menu is simple and you should easily order. Apart from this there is a little problem because we went there a couple of times but the sides sometimes come out different. I have order the same burger but the sides were different. Nevertheless, the food was amazing and delicious."
