"Very good Greek food in a cozy small restaurant (about 12 tables , located in a strip mall on Applegate Rd. After Taverna Ouzo closed its doors (coincidentally, it was located on the same Applegate Rd. quite a few years ago, there weren 't any authentic Greek restaurants in the area, so we are happy with our new finding. Faros (apparently, owned, managed, and served by people of Greek descent serves fully authentic and deliciously prepared Greek cuisine. The menu is extensive, there is a variety of choices for every taste and like. The food is fresh, the grilled dishes are thoroughly prepared to perfection. The hot appetizers platter Zesta pikilia tis pareas (assortment of tiropitakia, keftedakia, dolmadakia, spanakopitakia, and gigantes is ideal for two people and is offered for a budget friendly price of $20.5. The main courses, both traditional Greek specialties, souvlaki, and gyro platters are on the bigger side, definitely guaranteeing a need for box it up, please . The overall pricing is in today 's day and age certainly decent. Undoubtedly, highly recommended."

If you like Greek food, this is a must try. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed.

The reason for 3 stars are bones fragments in the burger and sand on the lettuce. They have to wash greens better.

Faros has amazing Greek food. So authentic. We ordered the saganaki, octopus, bronzino and gyro platter. It was all delicious. We love coming here!

Ordered for a large party for takeout and the food was just as great as when dining in. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Greek food. 5 star all the way! Thank you.

Had lunch there with family yesterday... it felt like a holiday meal at home! Service was fantastic, food was outstanding and atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Top notch authentic food! I will be back!

The food and service was great. It was my first time here.. Sometimes food is oversalted to hide its lack of flavor..not here. I recommend anyone who wants to taste food properly seasoned and delicious to go here.

Nothing worth ordering again. Humus comes the size of a small scoop. Seafood salad with 1 shrimp, Greek salad just chunks of feta and no real flavor. Meat portions were good but 5/10 taste wise. 1 pita for multiple dishes.

Nice cozy little Greek restaurant in a strip mall, I assume it is family run and the food seems quite authentic, just not 100% in my taste preferences. The menu is in both Greek and English for an authentic experience, and they also serve imported Greek soda I assume. The server was very attentive and the lamb platters were tasty. Not too big of the fan of the lemon potatoes, maybe the Greek fries would have been a better option.

I love this little place! We travel about 30 minutes to eat here about three times a year and it's always been spectacular. He usually we end up with the gyro platter cuz that's just what we know and like. But this time we tried the meat platter for two for some variety and it was outstanding! Couldn't believe how much meat there was probably could have fed three or even four people! We brought enough leftovers home for another two dinners! Everything was outstanding and it was really a great variety of all the different meats they have. Would highly recommend this place however make sure you make reservations. They are very small inside and are typically always busy unless you come way befo...

"My Wife and I don't travel so well these days but decided to go a little further afield from our usual Highcliffe and Christchurch haunts we live in Mudeford. We went twice in point of fact. The first visit was the 21st June when My wife and I had a quiet Birthday celebration lunch prior to the Family celebration later in the day. It was excellent. We only had the Mains and despite it being busy and not having booked we were served promptly and cheerfully with a round of drinks. My Wife had Chicken Pie and I had Liver and Bacon. Both were excellent and my Wifes vegetables were freshly done. I don't have vegetables. We liked it so much we went back three days later to celebrate our youngest Daughters birthday and again had lunch before the Family celebration later in the day. The meal was as fabulous as three days prior. My Wife had a Chicken Roast, our Daughter had Beef Roast and I had an amazingly well filled Steak and Merlot Pie of the Week. As before the vegetables were freshly done. Unusually for us we also had puddings (Lemon Meringue, Bailey's Cheescake and Apple Tart with Custard. All were excellent. All washed down with Tea and a Latte the former being served in nicely twee Teapots. Total cost £80 for the three of us on the second visit. Worth every penny. All in all First Class and couldn't fault it. Disabled parking nicely located in the front with ample parking for those more mobile at the side and back. Just a note for History buffs. The main building was built in 1853 by John Harrison(? a Carpenter thus the name Carpenters Arms."
