"Enjoyed our food. Had to wait 45 minutes for our desert's which we felt was unacceptable as the restaurant wasn't overly busy when we booked!! Emily couldn't apologise enough for not getting our desserts to us. We were offered free coffee which we accepted by way of an apology, however, we couldn't drink it as it was too strong, despite us adding numerous amounts of sugar to try and sweeten the taste!! Carvery was of very high standard but could be better organised in where it's situated as whilst we were queueing members of staff were constantly using the side doors to obtain entrance to and from the bar and kitchen!! Serving spoons and/or tongs are definitely needed to plate up our vegetables, there wasn't much in the way if a selection of green vegetables. That certainly needs addressing. I also felt one reception staff very stressed on the day in question and not very sure what was going on with regards to Christmas and New Year event's. I know the Christmas Fayre was happening but I got the impression that she couldn't get away from me quick enough when I was enquiring the venue etc etc."

"We received excellent service the minute we walked through the door. We were immediately shown to our table and handed a menu and asked if we would like to order any drinks. The menu mentioned “our famous stag beef pie” this sometimes make you wonder what they base this statement on well I can tell you this is probably one of the best pies I have ever had. The pie was stuffed full of tender pieces of beef and the pastry surrounding it was amazing. I can see why it is award winning. There were six of us and two had the pie and four other different meals and every single one was amazing. The sticky toffee pudding which we had was also very moist and delicious. I can honestly say this is probably one of the best pubs I have ever eaten at. The menu was also reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this pub and I will definitely be visiting again if I am ever in the area."

"Amazing food, great service. We were in the area to visit a family member and found this little gem! Sunday lunch was delicious and a lovely portion size. Try the Greek orange pie if you get the chance, I have never tasted anything quite like it!! We liked place so much we returned the following day. The menu has something for everyone, we had the crispy belly pork and seabass, there wasn't a crumb left! The specials board starter of tiger prawns with garlic and chorizo served with toasted olive bread were divine and the garlic mushrooms just as tasty. I can't recommend this place enough! I would recommend booking at a weekend as it gets very busy."

"We were 4 adults and 2 children 9 13 and the menu offered a range of food to satisfy us all. The service was excellent timely. friendly and perceptive. The cooking is good standard stuff doesn’t pretend and isn’t) to be cutting edge or haute cuisine. A reliable place to have a solid meal. My only concern was that the piped music was too obtrusive."

"I have to give the lowest rating possible due to my experience with this restaurant. I made a reservation for a birthday celebration, but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed, despite a sign on the door indicating they should have been open. I wasn’t contacted to inform me about the cancellation of my booking, and my calls went unanswered. As a result, I was left without a reservation on my sister’s birthday, which was extremely disappointing, especially since we were looking forward to dining here. They need to either update their opening hours or improve their online booking system to prevent this from happening in the future."

"I had to pull a waiter over after been seated for 15 minutes to ask if we could order as I hadn’t even ordered a drink at this point. I ordered all the drinks and food at the same time as I didn’t know how long it was going to take. Two people that were seated after us got their drinks and food way before us. Food was ok but not worth the menu prices. I had the New York strip steak which came well done even though I asked for medium rare. The mash had skin in it which I don’t know if it was supposed to but I found the taste of the skin overpowering. The veg was watery which then made the rest of the food watery. I got the Bangkok shrimp with my meal but couldn’t taste shrimp it was just like crispy breadcrumbs. It had a sweet taste which didn’t compliment the rest of the food. To be honest the whole meal tasted plain and like something I would expect in a Wetherspoon. No flavour. My son had the pasta which was a very very small portion and the marinara sauce which we asked to be served on the side was freezing cold like it hadn’t been heated at all, it had just come out of the fridge and I think they must of forgotten to heat it. The sundae was massive and the only reason I have given a average for the food and not a poor rating. Last time we ate here it was lovely. The waiter seemed to pay more attention filling up the glasses of the people having brunch. I got charged a 13.5 service charge too which I wouldn’t of paid if it wasn’t added to the bill. I would of sent the food back but the rate we were being served I thought we’d be there all night if I had done that. All in all I was disappointed"

"on this place a star. if I could, it wouldn't be a star. Yesterday afternoon sat for cocktails and then paid our bill. I got the confirmation and put it in my pocket. we are up and down when we were outside a coworker, followed us and accused us not to pay our bill. I told her we paid and we got our reception. I got the entrance from my bag and she was not satisfied yet. it was another member of the staff who came after and said they had paid bills there. I've never been ashamed to be accused, especially in the middle of an enlivened road. I always pay my bills. if this is how they treat customers there, I will not be definitiw. the staff was very rude. think they need more training on the skills of men"

"A restaurant that I kept passing by and feeling awfully guilty for not trying as I live very close to it. Decided to try this place of us) we had no idea what to have so asked the Lady who served us. She was honest and very helpful. "this is an absoloute great find, with finding this recently we thought we would try it out for a sunday carvery for the 1st time. on arrival the staff are chatty friendly found our booking with no problems, we ordered our drinks from the bar were shown our table within a few mins we were told we could go down to get our dinner when we were ready, with me having my boy was great as he was hungry. we went to get our dinner met the chef he was also chatty pleasant polite great to talk to. staff here cant do enough for you while your there they are helpful polite always smiling which is a great atmosphere. our food was really superb meat was tender soft vegetables were cooked brilliantly great selection of both veg meat gravy was really tasty. we enjoyed our food so much we all had a pudding again the staff were brilliant, didnt wait long for the puddings to come out again it was really good. i cant recommend this place enough its really good, its that good that we are going again in a few weeks with the rest of the family. if you havent been before then go try it you wont be disappointed!!"

"I 've used the takeaway service several times now since covid and the first couple of times was hit and miss. I was not impressed with the plain rather overpriced hot dog. But I persevered and I have now discovered the beef Piri burger which is delicious, their chips are genuinely the nicest I 've ever had! However, the 'home made ' desserts were really disappointing. They come in a carton with the manufacturer 's name on it. Clearly factory made and frozen, very small portion at £3.80 each I feel completely ripped off!"

"Very nice cosy and welcoming atmosphere, all the steaks had a small bit of fat but the taste made it value for money. The fish dishes were only comparable to the taste of sheer luxury and the waiter was friendly in describing the exotic tastes so we know as much as we can about what we are ordering and you better be placing your bets that they were right. I am told by the people who accompanied me on this meal that the strawberry sling cocktail was ‘fruity, delicious and highly recommended to other gin-lovers’. Everything from the herbs used in the Caesar sauce to the exact time the steak was cooked for and the bubbles in the Pepsi to the size of the chips was catered for and worth the money, 24 hours a day, everyday of the week, 365 days of the year! "everywhere the crown inn, while it tries to find a pub that was served on late Sunday afternoon. we came to the bar at 15:10, ten minutes after they hadn't served their Sunday carvery anymore. before us were another group of 4 who had done exactly the same. our lateness was absolutely no problem for the personal, they quickly took our drink order and told us to go and get our carvery. also that was not a problem for the chef, he has served us with three good meat slices (beef, gammon turkey), none of these toby carvery dart thin carvings! After we got our meat, we then helped to a good selection of veg and there was enough of it. next to the veg there were yorkshire puddings and sausages when they wanted them. Finally there was a nice thick gravy and all the sauces they could ever want. When we came back to our table, all our drinks waited, so we were ready to dip into our Sunday dinner. the meal was excellent. everything meat was perfectly cooked and the whole sweet was also delicious. the workers were extremely polite and never rushed or hated us and they had not even asked us to create a register card when we ordered our meal; they simply set it up automatically. nice to have found a great, relaxed, friendly pub that serves an excellent Sunday dinner. in any case we are happy to go back; we're gonna be a little sooner next time!"

"I am new to the area and decided to take myself for Sunday lunch. Being single I don’t mind dining alone. I saw the Bell inn and as it was close gave it a go. I was not disappointed I was seated quickly and served by Georgina who was attentive and very efficient. My lunch came out hot and absolutely delicious, I was checked on by Georgina at regular intervals that were not intrusive and as a lone diner I am usually having to get someone’s attention. I also had an amazing view of the Thames while I dined. The Bell Inn was very popular and I can see why the food was great value and there was plenty of it."

"There appears to be two parallel reviews for this establishment. One as this: Orangery Restaurant and one listed as 'Orangery ', Powder Mills. I am not sure which is the official one but opted for this one have had more recent reviews. We attended a family lunch in the private dining room rather than the Orangery Restaurant. The service was personal and impeccable and the setting fantastic. The lunch was served promptly with a plentiful serving size. There is a great menu with something for everyone.
