"We received excellent service the minute we walked through the door. We were immediately shown to our table and handed a menu and asked if we would like to order any drinks. The menu mentioned “our famous stag beef pie” this sometimes make you wonder what they base this statement on well I can tell you this is probably one of the best pies I have ever had. The pie was stuffed full of tender pieces of beef and the pastry surrounding it was amazing. I can see why it is award winning. There were six of us and two had the pie and four other different meals and every single one was amazing. The sticky toffee pudding which we had was also very moist and delicious. I can honestly say this is probably one of the best pubs I have ever eaten at. The menu was also reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this pub and I will definitely be visiting again if I am ever in the area."

Good service, however one of the dishes had ingredients missing, did bring attention to the young staff who seemed ambivalent. Rest of food was tasty and enjoyable

A little disappointed with the service. Food was OK though. Didn't clear the table and when we ordered two glasses of wine the waiter only bought one over . When we asked where the other one was he just said they didn't have that one, a bit odd. Not as good ad it was when we last visited.

I went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The service was excellent, with friendly staff. I decided to have the prawn starter with a side of chips for my main course so I could save room for dessert. The apple crumble and custard was the perfect sweet ending to my meal. I couldn't help but feel a bit envious of my friend's lamb roast with Yorkshire pudding, as it looked really good.
