"Ok. We went here for Sunday lunch today and I have to say, the staff and service were excellent but I was absolutely appalled at the amount of food I got for a roast lunch for £21!!! This is not a small amount of money for a communal lunch not a bespoke meal. I do NOT need quantity over quality and prefer the latter but my plate was less than half full when it arrived (a normal sized plate) I had two half slices of beef, one small floret of broccoli, one quarter parsnip, half a carrot, a small bit of cauliflower cheese and some scrapings of cabbage. The food was quite nice, not outstanding but it was ridiculous. I am not a large man. I am not a greedy man. But I expect to leave here feeling like I have been fed properly especially for £21 for what is a fairly well trodden path of a Sunday lunch. I am really, really, really disappointed and if they are struggling to make money with what they charged me then it is clear, they will not be in business for much longer. What a fall from grace in my eyes!"

A St Austell pub on the river in Exeter, so expect the usual beers from them.

Nice location, reasonable choice of gluten free options, though we were disappointed they had run out of fish and chips.

The Mill on the Exe is a pub situated which has a beer garden that looks out over a small cascade on the River Exe (as the name suggests). The pub tries

The restaurant is a fantastic choice for both lunch and dinner. I really enjoyed the variety of small plates available. The flatbread with olives was served hot and disappeared quickly. Our... View menu

Located on the river in Exeter, this St Austell pub offers the usual selection of beers you would expect. The atmosphere must be delightful in the summer, with the waterfront setting and outdoor seating.

Pretty environment along the river. Was there for Sunday Roast. Food was impressive. Has large TVs showing live sports program. Comfy place to spend a relaxing Sunday. Better make reservation for peak days

The food at this restaurant is fantastic. It is situated on the River Exe by a weir, which adds to the lovely atmosphere. Our meals included an excellent Ploughman's, Fish and Chips, Steak Frites, and Mackerel Nicoise. View menu

Generally underwhelmed. Nice location/building. Food overpriced and the steak sandwich was only available as rare or well done. Ale selection disappointing for a St Austell pub. Might visit again in the summer but for drinks only.

Fancy place with great food selection. Nearing summer you could come here and have dinner and have a nice walk down to the Quay. Cannot think of a better place to bring your first date. Mostly locals and much less students because of the steeper price compared to neighboring premises. A nice place set up down by the river to have a beer.

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
