"Fantastic service and great atmosphere. We we're only there for a coffee, but we want to return for a meal. The decor is very stylish, and it looks like a place that is great for food, drinks, whatever. We chose it because we were looking for a coffee, but as soon as we walked in, we knew we'd found a new place. The staff were seriously friendly and efficient they even appeared they were having fun! We will definitely be back."

"After a busy day in London, we decided to have an afternoon snack at The Conductor and were pleasantly surprised. We tried their sharer size nachos and lemonade, which were delicious. The menu looked enticing and the portions were generous. The nachos were freshly prepared and the restaurant was not busy, making us feel comfortable and cozy in its warm and welcoming interior. The staff were polite and accommodating, which was a plus. Reservations are accepted and we noticed some tables were reserved. The restaurant also has a beautiful outdoor space, although it was too cold for us to dine outside that day. Overall, I would definitely return with friends as The Conductor feels like a great place to hang out."

"From the point we came in everything was quite chaotic. We were pretty much ignored for a bit, our jackets were not asked to hang in the clothing room while we were standing there. The bottle of wine was not shown as it was poured outside sight. We were put at a nice spot where we were asked multiple times if we were sure about the table, which made us question if we were put in a bad spot. It killed the relaxed vibe. The menu or recommendations for welly wednesday were not explained properly. Beef Wellington was delicious but for a top tier price of 48 pounds we did not expect dry, rock hard potatoes and some garnish veggies or salad at least. Gravy was taken before I finished it. There were so many staff switches that it was unpersonal. For a restaurant with these high prices AND a involuntary 15% tip (which we were definitely not planning to pay for this lacking service) we did not expect the service of a pub. After the check was on the table we got asked by yet anoter waiter if we wanted to order any coffee of dessert. It was very sweet dat we got a complementary dessert for our anniversary. But I have to admit that was the only reason I did not get angry. Very, very disappointed. I felt scammed honestly. Quality comes with a price if the quality is there..."

"Lovely location, and good weather enabled everyone to sit outside on the sunny terrace. The staff were friendly and welcoming and provided good service, but the food was disappointing. Some sandwiches were dry, tasted as though they'd been made the day before. The waiter replaced it promptly with another dry sandwich. The desserts were small taster size portions (which was fine) but did not appear freshly made. The cream tea part of the menu was nice, but again a very small scone. The gluten free option was preferred over the regular afternoon tea by our group."

"We have stayed at the Kimberley hotel several times but I was not as impressed this time with the food. Our booking deal included a 2 course meal on the first night. My husband chose battered cod and I had the filleted fish. The battered fish was served lying on top of the chips which had been arranged in a row. He found the batter quite oily/greasy which he did not eat but consequently that had left the chips underneath soggy. My fish was nicely cooked. I was also upset to see that several of the courses had a supplement and therefore not offered in the choices unless an extra cost was incurred which further limited the already limited menu. The wine was also very pricey. I felt the £49 for 2 people sounded a good deal which included a bottle of house wine although the house wine was not advertised as an option to purchase. We chose not to eat in the restaurant on the second night"

"We were greeted by the owner Ken, he asked us if we were ok, we explained that we wanted to be seated for drinks. He sat us down, the waitress came we ordered and she said you must get something to eat, we just ate somewhere else and wanted to sit for drinks, so we ordered two starters with our drinks. To my surprise after we ordered Ken walked back and started to tell us that we shouldn’t have sat there if we’re just having drinks and to leave straight after the drinks. The whole vibe changed, I didn’t even want to have my drink. I paid £50 for two starters and two drinks and Ken’s horrible service. I’ve never been treated like that especially by an owner of a restaurant. Why wasn’t this mentioned before we ordered, why after? How can you tell someone have your drink and leave? When I said you are making me uncomfortable he replied, good leave. I just looked at my friend in disappointment as I recommended this restaurant to her. The reason your restaurant isn’t making enough is because of your service not customers coming for drinks. The embarrassment of him having a go in-front of the other customers wasn’t nice and the sad thing is he treats his waiters and waitresses with no respect as well as his customers."

"From that point on, the service was only slightly better; we felt largely ignored. While the food was nice, the overall experience left much to be desired, lacking in service quality even compared to a budget hotel. When we received the bill, our problems continued. We were charged £21.98 for desserts we didn’t order, and the bill showed £15.99 for dessert that should have been £7.99. I brought this to the attention of a staff member who said he couldn’t process a refund himself, but offered us three drinks as an apology for the incorrect dessert charge. By the time he returned, we realized the extra £21.98 charge still hadn’t been resolved. He swapped our beer for a bottle of prosecco instead, which we took, considering our children needed to go to bed. After researching the prosecco, I found I could buy it for just £10.99 at the store. To say I was appalled would be an understatement. For such a reputable establishment, this experience was a huge letdown. We seriously doubt that we will consider staying or dining at Doubletree again, and we certainly won’t be recommending it to friends, family, or clients anytime soon."

"The Tame Otter is a very pleasant licensed premises with a cosy atmosphere, but we did not find the food very tasty or of good value. The staff however were very pleasant. We were also kept waiting quite a long time between courses, especially the wait for Baileys coffees after the meal they were cold when arriving at the table. I would rate the experience 5 out of 10 overall!"

"A delightful little hidden gem! The public entrance is through Dean's Yard, which is a private residential area, but just let the guard know you're heading to the Cellarium. We visited on a Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. and found ourselves in a lovely room. We both enjoyed the bacon sandwich with a roasted egg, and it was absolutely fantastic. The bread was soft and just right for my taste, and there was plenty of bacon. It may seem like a simple sandwich, but it was exceptionally good! I truly appreciated this charming spot away from the usual restaurant trail."

"My husband and me were just passing by and decided to come in and have a coffee. The atmosphere was fine and the smell of the food was very appealing but, we had to deal with a manager called Ani with no education at all. We were trying to explain to her , we only wanted a coffee and go and she was telling us off; not listening to us and inviting us to leave because we were not going to have any kind of food. This was a very weird experience, and a very disrespectful one . My husband could not articulate a word and I just decided to leave without any more words with this kind on unprofessional and disrespectful manager ?. We are not coming back again."

"I've been lucky to be able to photograph for 2 weddings at the Anglers Rest now and both times have been amazing. The guys are so accomadating and Agi is worth her weight in gold she's a superstar. Lovely venue, lovely staff and even better food highly recommended for any couple who wants that intimate and more personal alternative to the big hotels. "Expectations not met ... no Sunday lunches on offer was told when we arrived “we haven’t anything left “ this was at 5.45 ?? They had tried to ring us and I checked missed call at 5.40 but Was driving unable to answer phone a bit short notice anyway! Not good really saying it was Sunday and advertised as one of the main options on the daily menu “bad management “ we did order another option and it was nicely presented and very tasty but steak served on a wooden platter Doesn’t work when you order sauce as a side just got messy.. on requesting our bill and ready to pay we was then told they couldn’t take card payments and was taking cash only !!! Why tell you at the end of your meal ? Embarrassing!! nobody carry’s much cash around with them was lucky there was a cash machine across from restaurant.. may I suggest you tell your customers before sitting down . Would I go again Yes I think I would Maybe we just picked the wrong day ."

"For our first night stay in Lymington we were recommended this pub. It is situated right on the Quay side with views accross the water. Unfortunately when we went the outdoor section was shut. Both of us have food intolerances. Choices were limited but they have a good way of checking by way of an Ipad app referencing thier menu. Reasonably priced at around £25 a head including drinks."

"I didn't settle the bill, so I can only guess about that. My employers take space in Nova north, and London based colleagues recommended you, so as a firm, I expect we are with you regularly. We were served by a slim young lady who was Greek. She was very very good indeed. My 2 clients are not fussy people, and are long since retired, but they too thought she was fantastic, and I suspect that a hefty tip was given. Don't let her leave!!"

"We had a take out and the fish chips, brilliant. Haddock was white and tasty also batter was cooked to perfection. We had breaded scampi as well which was good. You must try the curry sauce on your chips they go together like preorder peas in a pod. I have eaten in the galley always lunch time which is great, you may have to wait for a table but well worth it. Try a wee treat scone raspberry and white chocolate you will want to go back for more. Girls are always friendly and serve with a smile."

"very expensive. there are problems with gas friendship fighting, but no starter under ten pounds or head under 20. the old waitress who said we want it to be replaced when we ate about the kartoffels and leave them. she asked if starter was good 15 minutes after the reception. too late to correct. not offered aging as a recompense. place them empty. we often come to whitby. will not come back. 100 pounds for a starter, pornstar, a bottle of wine and two pints. I know it's christmas, but I'll like to eat at this price must be good or exceptional. including very attentive service. was okay."

"Arrived within mins of the time frame required for seating waiting at the door As we were seated we were rudely told that there would be another table booked after us insinuating we would need to be quick! This made us feel uncomfortable and rushed from the off. We ordered almost immediately as we had been recommended to come for a Sunday roast. Our roast came very quickly which would have been brilliant, however this was because the food had clearly been sitting on the side for awhile. This was disappointing. The check back was not done and so I had to find a waitress to then bring her to our table and prove what was wrong. This was both embarrassing for her and myself and she was astonished with how I could put my finger in the gravy and show it was luke warm. The overall first roast was very disappointing because it was cold the Yorkshire was crispy and cold. After this we did get our lovely roast a good mins afterwards and we were very hungry by this time. The second roast was lovely and the check back was done promptly. We would have stayed for drinks and dessert but felt a bit rushed, so we went somewhere else instead. We felt like we were a bit forgotten about and not very well looked after. We had consumed our table water just after we got our food and no one attended our table to see if there was anything extra we needed or drinks to be taken! Just as a side note: we over heard from the table behind that they had been waiting an hour for their food to arrive and was very surprised it took so long! I don’t think they were impressed either with overall service. Hopefully these things can be rectified for other guests on the future. Kind regards"
