"the outside of the pub looks terrible. it is tired and boring. the inner is similar. it's dark and clapping. the coworkers try, but there is a certain lack of love to detail. this place needs a real spruce out and in, it also needs a strong customer concentrated management team that get the best from the personal. that could be a big pub, but we have said that for years and his still poor. the meal times with which we are no longer disturbing, because they are expensive and the quality is very hit and miss more than hit to be honest. the pub has no atmosphere. it also lacks any type of airflow when the weather is warm, leave the doors open and open windows where possible. illuminate the space both inside and outside to make it more attractive. that could be a great place, but as I say, we have said that for a long time."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time and found it to be rather small, but with amazing decor and service. The food selection was lovely and reasonably priced. I ordered the chicken and waffles, cheesy fries, and Mac and cheese. The Belgian waffles were too sweet for my liking, so I couldn't finish them. The chicken, fries, and Mac and cheese were delicious. I would definitely return to try a different branch (as this one is far from me) and explore more options on the menu, maybe the all day breakfast."

"I didn't settle the bill, so I can only guess about that. My employers take space in Nova north, and London based colleagues recommended you, so as a firm, I expect we are with you regularly. We were served by a slim young lady who was Greek. She was very very good indeed. My 2 clients are not fussy people, and are long since retired, but they too thought she was fantastic, and I suspect that a hefty tip was given. Don't let her leave!!"

Sure, if you allow a cook to take over the kitchen for the Sunday night layer, it would be a good idea to make sure that it is in the position to monitor the menu. in my experience, a chef would never leave the kitchen. what happened on Sunday night for a ceasar. it contained shredded salat, sweet red paprika, swirling, tomato and gurke. "We had difficulty finding the restaurant because of road works causing delays and diversions, so we arrived late but the staff were friendly and welcoming. I have been to the Coy Carp once before (pre pandemic) but my relatives were pleased by the canal-side location and historic feel of the building. We were allocated a table in a quiet area, which facilitated conversation for the older members of our group. The food was good, well cooked with generous portions. The service was good with pleasant and attentive staff. We very much enjoyed our visit and would return again if the opportunity offered. Thank you very much for a pleasant and enjoyable experience. "Went for wings Wednesday with a few work friends. Arrived at the location and shown to our table. Took 15 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive after ordering with staff. This was because the only waitress on duty was having a chat with the kitchen staff out of sight and forgetting customers. There was only my group and 2 other tables so not a busy day. Had to wait 25 to 30 mins for food once ordered. When I ask the chef if the waitress was still working or was she on part time hours and gone home. I was told to be quiet and sit down and order with the waitress who was never around. The chef was very rude and aggressive. I could then hear the staff including the waitress Kat in the kitchen being disrespectful about the group and myself. I was then approached by Kat and challenged in an aggressive manner. My first brew dog experience. Safe to say I won’t be going back to any branch if is what brew dog is all about."

"My husband and I had our 44th wedding anniversary dinner here and we had a beautiful meal. The food was delicious and not at all fast food. It wasn't as spicy as we are used to but still lovely. The young man who served us was attentive but not obtrusively so. He was friendly and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. I only hope this restaurant gets more custom. It was a Thursday evening at 7 and we were 1 of 2 couples in the restaurant. By 7.30 and for the rest of the evening we were the only diners. Please try this restaurant. It really is a jewel in Kilmarnock and not at all expensive. We'll be back."

"Beautiful space and feel to the place. Lunch menu limited and with only one vegetarian option. Menu not as advertised on internet and prices had jumped considerably so check before you go of you are price conscious. I advised we were meeting up for a birthday but restaurant made no mention of it, which was a shame so should have done better. Not busy, appear to be struggling for lunchtime trade. "I have been here on quite a few occasions and the food is always delicious and cooked well and the service is great. I usually go for a steak and sides. Having seen the roast dinners being served on my previous visits I decided to try the beef roast on this occasion. Both my mother and I were disappointed with what was served, I am certain that the Sunday roast menu must have changed recently. Firstly, I would like to say that the beef was cooked perfectly and was really tasty, there just wasn't much of it. The roast potatoes were also delicious. What I could not understand is that no greens come with the meal, the only veg was a huge carrot cut in half. I understand that we are expected to order side dishes if we want any vegetables on our roast... given the price of the meal and the small portion you receive I do not think this is at all value for money. I will not be back for a roast dinner again."

"We had recently been recommended by a friend about their lunch deal of £10 for steak, chips and a glass of wine. However very disappointed as we were shafted and not given the offer for no reason. We turned up at Friday lunchtime and like their website says we asked if lunch deal included wine to two members of staff who both confirmed it did. We ordered our food which was lovely. When the bill arrived we had been charged £11.40 per wine glass and highlighted this to the waitress (who earlier said deal was running) who said “we haven’t been doing that since 2018”. We showed her that it was on their websites menu but she wouldn’t budget. We know this isn’t true as our friend who recommended it had got the deal a few weeks prior. Furthermore, false advertising on website and two staff members saying yes when we arrived is just terrible. In the end we had to pay £20 more than what we expected and ruined the visit despite the great food. I would like some compensation and I will edit my review as the food was actually great just terribly shafted."
