"Myself, husband and son were in Windsor for the day as part of my son's 18th Birthday celebrations. Where we went for lunch was his pick and he really fancied a burger so Gourmet Burger Kitchen seemed an obvious choice. I have to say I'm not the biggest burger fan so the thought of a burger restaurant didn't thrill me. Firstly we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff who quickly sat us down. The menu choice was impressive and despite initial reservations I found several items that sounded tempting. I decided to opt for the Chargrilled Chicken Satay Burger and went for the bunless option. My son had The Mighty with fries and onion rings and the husband had The Major Tom with the addition of avocado and bacon. Drinks wise we had an Oreo milkshake, Ginger Beer and a makeshift Mocha as it is not something on their menu but our helpful server was very quick to oblige and create a Mocha for us. For someone who was decidedly underwhelmed at the thought of a burger restaurant it was the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. My bunless burger was served with Homeslaw and corn in place of a bun, a very nice substitute. As for my husband and son ...well firstly my son was beaten by his massive burger which is a first big my husband polished off his. In conclusion great food made even better by the fabulous staff. Thank you we will be back next time we visit."

"we thought they might like to know that the fuchs and the hounds were awarded 5 stars on gastrohub. here is our review of the website. another day, a new pub, at least for me, dad has been here before. this beautiful pub in the small village funtington, just wants them to come in. especially on a dreamy winter day, when the dark falls on you from a gray and solemn sky, she entices you through his doors, into the warm, where you can forget the grip of the winter and enjoy a few drinks and a few hot dips. the pub is much bigger than it appears first, with an additional restaurant area behind the bar. despite its size, the pub was warm, a basic area in pub hospitality. we checked the menu, including the special table, and were perhaps impressed. this was certainly one of the better menus that we have, showing a clear flare and imagination. I had expected the half of the prices to reflect the ingredients and dishes, perhaps in the unacceptable clip, but we were pleasantly surprised. the most important meal cuts at £12 £14, which we would consider about the right to a good pub with high quality food. I chose piri piri piri huh with seasoned sweet potatoes and spinat, papa from the special board, put his believe in the drawn steak in a blase and squeaky cake. we have softened the warm and friendly atmosphere, as we have waited for the food and watched the Goldilocks mirrors both temperature and corresponding music. before our meals arrived, and it was immediately obvious that the cook has a wonderful eye for the presentation. both our plates looked stunning, so we quickly sneak in to see if it tasted as good as it looked. that did it. the chicken was juicy, the sweet potato slightly seasoned and delicious, and the spinach was buttery and luxurious. dad's blase and squeakcake were just as perfect so he couldn't make any criticism. if we found a single error, and I notice that this is objectiv, we found the parts a little small. as the pub-geeks we are, we have discussed this to a certain extent. we have decided that as a publican there is a fine line, between which leave their customers feel short changed and leave them with space for a desert so that a few more penny’s collect. we have decided that they have fallen on the right side of the line, and to prove our point, we then ordered a desert. I had white chocolate and orange bread and butter pudding, dad had an individual lemon meringue pipe with Blueberry compot. both of them were delicious. that is undoubtedly a very fine pub. they have looked good and really all the groundboxes. the employees are efficient and friendly, and they have not accused of the overriding policy that is so widespread in many gastro pigs. there is a fine cook in the kitchen, and above all, eating is excellent. we always ask ourselves for every pub visit if we would return with friends and family. the answer in this case is a sounding yes."

"I took my son there for a steak. On arrival, we were asked if we had made a booking and this was checked up on their screen. As the majority of the tables were empty, I thought they would fill up. However, by the time we left, the majority of the tables were still empty; begging the question as to why reservations were such a big deal on arrival. My son ordered a 12oz fillet steak medium which was butterflied rather than grilled whole which we did not understand as it came from the tail end of the fillet rather than the butt or prime end. I ordered a 12 oz ribeye medium rare. Both steaks came cooked exactly to order. The fillet was reasonably tender but the ribeye had membrane that had not been removed and made it quite tough eating. In addition the ribeye had been marinaded in some form of sweet dark sauce which could be clearly tasted and which spoiled the overall taste of the ribeye steak. The accompanying pepper sauce was rather bland. The fries and sweet potatoes were reasonable, the grilled tomatoes over-cooked and the mushrooms were good. The English mustard requested was in front French and I heard an adjoining table have the same challenge. I do not believe that they had English mustard on that night, or perhaps at all. When the ribeye was pointed out to the waitress, the response was a quite blase Oh really, well I 'll be sure to tell the chef . Apart from that, the service was acceptable to good. The malbec ordered was a little rough but quite good. We ordered tap water which came in spring-top bottles; a rather nice touch. Would I go there again? Possibly for a burger but not if I want a good steak."

"y husband and I had lunch today at The Oak. We realise in these trying times restaurants and pubs etc are having a hard time but that does not excuse serving poor quality food. I had the stuffed mushroom to start with my husband had the scotch egg. The starters turned up on a small plate with no garnish to make them even look appetizing the scotch egg was really small although it had a runny yolk with it was an attempt at a bloody mary drink in a small glass) I felt sorry for my mushroom it looked really lonely on the plate I didnt particularly want to eat it but we had waited a while so I took the plunge and I will leave it at that. Next course we both had the lemon chicken burgers with chips chips were cooked in the oven) and that is precisely what we got no garnish presentation of food for me is important as you do eat with your eyes. If I had been lunching at a local cafe or service station I wouldnt have expected anything else but we were not...this is suppose to be a reasonably good restaurant. I did mention this to the waitress when she cleared our plates and she said she would inform the kitchen. We then asked for the bill my husband didnt look to happy then he showed me the bill when we got outside £39.40p which included 2 drinks of lime and soda. The starters themselves came to £13.45 which is why I am writing this review because no way they were worth it I wish I had taken a photo for people to have seen. I am not trying to wangle any freebies of this I am saying to the owners please please realise I know in these times you are struggling but so I am and my husband to do not have money to throw away on a lunch that was equal to local cafe."

"After I just returned from dinner at the brand new Burger compound in hampstead, I can confidently say that Spielburger will do for burger what made Spielberg for films; offer quite good. before coming to the burgers, it is worth mentioning some important features of the restaurant. first, we were taken entirely by the good look of the personal; while an attractive waiter may not require a good meal, it will certainly improve the culinary experience. second, the choice of music; upbeat chillout music, which encourages a cuddly yet relaxed atmosphere. the service was impeccable. before I looked at the menu again, our waiter was in the process of doing soaking orders, but not aggressive art and wise, in a fragrant look, let me help you. our wee came fast, though perhaps a little too fast when they brought the first bottle they were already drunk, but that was uncannyly replaced. Eat came in time. we had classic burgers with extra cheese and guacamole. I never had guacamole on a burger, but thought that was an excellent supplement. there is a special sauce between the lower bungalow and the meat that was delicious. the meat was very good, like all burger components. for our side we have decided for sellige kartoffel chips, truffle chips and koleslaw. I don't like truffles so that the truffle chips would never have won me over, the colosse was easy to get on the mayonnaise (and could have easily come out of tesco), but the sweet potato chips were good. it came to £15 per person, for a burger, side and wee, and we were very happy. this is an excellent supplement to hampstead high st, and at the end of the day when it is good enough for cara it is good enough for me."
