"I've been wanting to try Chop House since I first noticed it during one of my early morning runs down to the shore. Thankfully after many more runs passing the restaurant I finally made it there for dinner! We went for a 6pm reservation (that I booked a month in advance so definitely book! and were seated at a cost table in the corner. I was a bit surprised to see how small the dining area actually was which explains why they are always booked up! I'm not sure if it's the design of the restaurant at fault or we were just in on a really noisy night but it was quite loud. So maybe not the best for a cosy romantic date if that's the regular noise level. The menu is pretty concise focusing on their steak offerings but I did note a few other mains if steak isn't your thing. We went for some pre dinner cocktails- I had the sweet street swizzle which was super tasty and I'd recommend it! For starters we shared prawn tempura and seared scallops, I liked that you could order these in numbers so you didn't get full from a big starter before your meal. We also had the granary bread with bone marrow butter that was really tasty and fresh. The prawns and scallops were also really good with the scallops being seared in a really tasty garlic butter. For mains I had the sirloin steak and my boyfriend had the rib eye. We shared a side of macaroni cheese, grilled asparagus, and mashed potatoes with gravy. The steaks were cooked really well and my spicy chimmichurri sauce worked really perfectly with it although my boyfriends blue cheese sauce was also seriously good. The macaroni cheese was super cheesy and thankfully not soggy which I hate. The mash and asparagus were both really nice but I may try different sides next time. For pudding I squeezed in a scoop of marshmallow ice cream that was good but I probably should have gone for the salted caramel.... Overall though I was really impressed with Chop House. The food was fresh, well cooked, and made a really enjoyable meal. A star off for the super loud atmosphere and also wrong charges on our bill which I had to ask the waitress to correct. That aside this place was worth the wait and the money! Looking forward to going back already!"

"I had a previous bad encounter with noodle box back last year when I was called a liar by the management. I ordered calamari and was sent some sort of round things. I rang up to obviously inform them of their mistake and the manager actually turned round and said you’re a liar we can tell the difference between calamari and the item I had been sent. I had to send a photo to the managers phone to show them what they sent and I was told oh well we can’t all be perfect as you obviously are. Tonight after begging from the children to order I gave in. The food was piping hot and in all fairness very tasty. However there was a portion of calamari missing. I rang the store straight away to inform them of their mistake and was told no you got what you ordered. I brought up my order on their app and once again was told I hadn’t ordered it. The manager then told me I couldn’t add up as I hadn’t been charged. Once I broke down my receipt to him and went through each addition separately he finally admitted defeat. I was then told at 18:22 the missing item would be with me within half an hour to an hour. I rang back at 19:31 to enquire where my food was and was told someone would call me back. 19:48 still no call so I rang back 4 times before my call was finally answered to be spoken to by the same gentleman I had initially spoken to and was told that it would be with me within 15 minutes. He telephoned me at 20:04 to be told he was just leaving the shop and he’d ring me when he was in my road and I could go out and collect it from him as he obviously can’t be bothered to bring it to my door. The food is great I’m not going to lie but the customer service is beyond appalling from the counter staff to the management. It’s now 20:17 and it’s only just turned up and was told we’ve given you a complimentary can...really?? I personally will NEVER order off this restaurant and I really suggest people follow suit. I can honestly say I’ve never been treated as poorly by any other restaurant or takeaway and I really suggest the management look at their own attitude and management skills and then look at the whole staff as a complete unit. Bad management is toxic and it shows in the way your staff treat your customers. Absolutely hands the worst customer service in the whole of Cardiff."

"Text: Disappointed with this restaurant which I’ve used over 8 times in 18 months. I drove from Crawley and booked ahead of time for my 66th birthday lunch a table for 4 at 1.30pm with my wife and two teenage kids aged 16&18. The price is reasonable when the quality is good the bill came to £185.00 including £20 service charge automatically added to the bill. Overview: The service was okay as usual quick but not friendly we were served by 5 different people. However what was horrible and shocking was that the food quality has dropped significantly since my last visit in September 2023. The scallops were very good as usual but the haddock and chips was very disappointing indeed…(more later) Oysters were pathetic the flesh was tiny and not tasty at all. Calamari was soft and the batter was soggy and ‘flat’. The fish and chips … haddock was dry and flakey and chewy clearly frozen fish. The batter was completely different to my last meal at Regency this time it was soggy and flat no crisp whatsoever. The chips were cold and miserable. The apple pie was disgusting really disgusting tasteless and bland and the pie crust was soft and soggy the runny cream was a bit sour and suspect my wife asked me to taste it and I poured some into my double espresso and it curdled. The tiramisu and profiteroles were ok. I just recently voted this restaurant for best in Brighton but I think that was a mistake. It’s a shame the food quality was so poor especially for simple things that should be excellent and are not technically acceptable! Poor show."
