"Waiting 55 minutes for 2 sandwiches and 2 kids meals while the place was quiet. Questioned where the food was and ten minutes after the 2 sandwiches arrived and we were asked it we needed anything else told staff member we had ordered 2 kids meals also and they proceeded to come out ten minutes after that. The food that did arrive was basic and not even worth the price or the wait No sorry for the wait, nothing. One young girl working was lovely and polite but everyone else was abrupt and quite frankly terrible. Will absolutely not be returning and will not be recommending to anyone else. Disgusting service, disgusting food."

Comfy bed and pillow... Room at the top no problem for noise. Great sports coverage and decent food.

A basic room, but as expected for the price. The bed was comfortable and I slept well, despite the warnings about noise.

Went for tea for a friend's birthday. Food was lovely, service was great. A lovely atmosphere. And really good prices. Been a few times with friends and never disappointed yet.

Couldnt find anywhere to sit because the place was quite busy and it looked like theyd taken a lot of tables and chairs out. We only stayed for one drink due to the lack of sitting space. But it was nice! View menu

Me and my partner stayed the night and had breakfast. Everything was great thank you. The staff were very friendly. The room was great and the breakfast was nice. Everything was great value for money. We will definitely stay again.

We stopped here for sunday roast and it did not disappoint, we had 4 roasts and 2 kids meals and all we're really nice quality food. The bar serves a wide range of ales lager and ciders and all was very reasonably priced will definitely return when we are here again.

Called in at The Sun Inn for Sunday lunch. Had a starter of homemade soup and warm bread roll, followed by an absolutely amazing roast beef dinner. Warm and friendly staff with excellent service. Would highly recommend The Sun Inn for a drink and meal if you are ever in the area. View menu

Very disappointed to say the least room was at the top of building so many stairs so small cramped stains on carpet clothes rail very unsteady shower was terrible everything dated think twice before you book very uncomfortable in bar area not friendly at all only staff I seen was a young lad behind the bar which didn't know much if I had a inquiry nice area will go again but will stay elsewhere

A feel a bit mean not giving 5 stars for the room and service when taking in consideration the price. Slight issue with the noise on the Saturday night but given the location that is well worth it. Ulverston was a revelation, a great little town with loads of pubs. Too many Lake District towns are full of people in £500 Gortex jackets massive walking boots (all spotless) where as Ulverston seemed far more friendly and down to earth. I very much expect to stay at The Sun again.

"Pre booked a table online as I wanted the table for a family retirement meal for my Mum, added into the comments a request to have a couple of bottles of fizz and sharing dessert for our party (which nobody acknowledged), I called a couple of days before to arrange this and pay upfront, I was told we would have two bottles of fizz and 6 glasses ready for us on the table on arrival we didn 't why? Awkward as then the waitress is coming over asking what we want to order to drink I was planning on surprising my Mum with the fizz. Sharing dessert I 'm not sure if there was a miscommunication between us as when it arrived after the meal I 'd question how many people were sharing the dessert. I 've been to the Farmers plenty over the years for food and it 's always been pretty decent, it 's always a good atmosphere etc. Unfortunately on this occasion the food was pretty poor. Two of us ordered the 'tandoori ' chicken kebabs so bland, I 'd question whether the chicken had ever seen any sort of marinade/spice mix. Rice was tasteless and there was a pitiful number of chips for a 'half half ' portion. Mussels again commented on the portion of chips served on the side tight. Fish dish was small but aren 't they always and the Cajun chicken and brisket meals were fine. A shame overall as like I said it 's always a good atmosphere and it is a nice place interior wise. I wouldn 't rush back unfortunately."
