"Served through a letterbox hatch, scones were given to me already with the jam and cream on in a bag! I sat waiting for my order and heard the lady shouting through the hatch! Honestly i have never seen anything like it! The cream was sliding off the jam, i didn't even have a knife to smooth it down, the jam was too much i would have rather put my own jam and cream on, a couple who came after us ordered 2 toasted tea cakes, the lady serving shouted out the back door and put them on a table there, it reminded me of a sketch from Little Britain!"

"We had been to Taste-Bud before for an evening meal and so we were expecting good food, we were not disappointed. Good atmosphere on this not too busy evening, lovely breads to start and then the beautifully presented 3 piece starter, stuffed peppers, mackerel croquette and suckling pork prosciutto, all so tasty, beetroot and Taleggio risotto which was so moreish and then the most lovely guinea fowl and broccoli. I had never had guinea fowl before but it was gorgeous, finished off with strawberry Elton mess with lovely Italian finger biscuits. Lovely bottle of red wine finished the meal well. If you get the chance to visit for an evening meal then do. Great night."

"After driving past this hotel/restaurant a few times during our stay in this area, we decided to pop in to see if there was a table available for us and our two dogs. "I visited this restaurant for their roasted vegan dishes and found a variety of options. I tried the dish with mozzarella, pesto, and tomatoes. The mozzarella could have been melted more; it seemed more like a cheese that wasn't fully melted. Overall, everything was flavorful. The staff was friendly and even refilled our water bottle. They have many vegan options and outdoor seating available. "

"I stopped with my two children, 6 and 8, for lunch. Nice little cafe, and the food was of good quality. I had the hot pork roll with stuffing and crackling it was very nice and seemed to be very popular! My children had the fish finger £6.50 and jacket potato £5.50 meal. They said the food was tasty but were both still hungry after the meal the portion sizes were smaller than they used to for children’s meals and we eat out quite a bit! . In particular, the jacket potato was only half a potato this is the first time we’ve ever encountered a jacket potato meal where you only get half the potato, so my 6 year old did wonder why his meal was missing half! In summary, good quality food but the value for money on children’s meals would likely prevent me visiting again."

"We had two cheese cream teas and a traditional cream tea. This was well worth the money. The scones were slightly warm and mouth watering and the massive slab of cheese on the cheese tea topped it off. I think this is the only place...that accommodates for anyone who doesn’t drink tea. Me and my dad had a luscombe drink rather than the traditional tea beverage. I can’t recommend this place enough. Service was very fast and it’s located right in the centre of cockington."

"I'm local but for some reason I had never gone in here. I have now been three times. The pizza is legit Italian style and the sandwiches are very tasty. They have lots of cakes and bread too I never tried them but they look very nice and at the end of the day are all gone. Good value for what you get, doesn't feel extortionate at all like a lot of places these days. Everything made fresh. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Now, back to the cream tea: it comes with two scones—one plain and one fruit—freshly baked on the premises, along with Rodda's cream, a pot of strawberry jam, and a pot of tea. I think they upgraded our tea pot at no extra cost when I mentioned we were sharing the cream tea. It was more than enough for us to enjoy two cups each. The scones were soft, warm, and a generous size. All the staff were incredibly friendly and chatty, which made the experience even better. There are plenty of tables inside, but the spacious outdoor seating area is a real treat. It's enclosed by glass panels, the grounds are well-maintained, and it's delightful to sit in the sun amidst the flowers, with an old railway line nearby. Inside, there are photographs of the railway when it was still in operation. We also tried bacon sandwiches with salad, but the menu has a lot more to offer, including sausage quiche and various snacks. The service was prompt, and the prices were very reasonable—definitely the best on the island!"

"We went to our choir Christmas party and were extremely let down. The food was low quality, full of carbs, and even the chips were served cold. The room was chilly and only a few brave souls ventured out from under their coats. The pizza slices were cold and dry, the quiches had heavy and soggy pastry, and the sandwich fillings were scant and overwhelmed by bread. The only non-carb option were the cold chips. Even the dessert selection was lacking, with only basic supermarket options available."

"Craving a Cream Tea driving by this very glam Church/Tea room on our campervan road trip we simply had to turn back pay visit What a lovely quirky place Well worth a visit .. i enjoyed the coffee that much i wanted to purchase some to take with me for my cafetière But they had run out of there own special blend but sold other options. "I visit here often and there's a reason I went out on a blustery day to walk the 10 minutes there. The lovely women who work there clearly have a passion and pride for delicious healthy food. "We visited Bakewell on a shopping trip. The weather was 2 dgrees C and raining and we needed a little respite from it. Found the Bakewell Tart Shop and was welcomed and quickly seated. Menus and drinking water supplied whilst waiting for our choice af toasted tea bread and fresh scone with butter, plus 2 lattes. The service was quick, attentive and friendly. Excellent buns and coffee. A convenience was available and we used it. All very good. We bought an extra tea bread at the front of house shop on our way out. Very reasonable prices and excellent staff."

"I stumbled upon this delightful cafe by chance and was pleasantly surprised. The menu offered a fantastic variety of options. My husband and I had a wonderful lunch with fabulous food and presentation. If we lived closer, we would definitely eat here regularly. The restaurant was bustling with all tables full and people waiting in line at the door. We will absolutely be returning on our next visit to Morpeth. "The Rose Crown are under new management, namely Ali and Ross. They have a strong pub and hospitality pedigree, most recently coming from The Stag at Mentmore, and successfully developing other people 's business and brand. They are 3 months in, the Lease sign is down and they have already welcomed a strong set of regulars, nurtured a great group of young staff, provided a great xmas menu, setup super breakfasts, had specialist evenings, wakes, dancing; soon to be adding a great menu Burns evening and a Valentines do. They are mindful of the market they 're in, the importance of 'the local ' and providing the correct atmosphere, staff and entertainment. Personally, they look after me, my table of 12 cousins and have been great for my young daughter who works there, in her first job. They are striving for pub perfection and I commend them on their first 3 months and wish them well for their special journey for their customers. Also dog friendly! "What can I say my family and I had the rustic bread with a filling which comes with Coleslaw and tortilla chips which I must say was not cheap for a mere sandwich we put our order in only to be told when they placed it in front of us they had run out of coleslaw but instead gave us some salad first of all they must have known they had no Coleslaw when they took our order and you do not presume we want salad the bread was dry and stale the chutney was like a running liquid which tasted full of sugar. The tortilla chips were stale too had no flavour at all they must have been the cheapest of cheap chips. We were the last people in there before the placed closed and I guess we just got the leftovers o and another thing salad consists of lettuce tomatoes cucumber onion and peppers especially the price we paid all we had was a little bit of lettuce and a slice of tomotoe no onion or cucumber call that a salad I had to go ask for some onion which was dried up. The waitress who served us was I thought rude and we were an inconvenience because we arrived not long before closing time will never go to that place again my sister complained and we should have got a reduction in our bill but that did not happen total rubbish how easy is it to make a nice sandwich with FRESH ingredients."

"Popped in here for a coffee after a long walk, only 1 table left, which seated 4 people, there was 2 of us, halfway through drinking our coffee, the older lady, which I think was the owner, came to us and asked how long we were going to be, as there was a family of four waiting for the table and as there was only 2, asked us to give the table up, very rude and un professional, I would not return, I left a quarter of my coffee as she kept returning to the table and I felt forced to leave, and then she charged us full price."
