"I tried this restaurant for the first time and was very impressed. It is definitely the best breakfast option in town. We ordered sausage, egg, and cheese batons, which were delicious with perfectly cooked eggs and tasty sausage. The portion sizes were also very generous and left us feeling satisfied for the whole day. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you."

"Attended The Lowry for a function. The staff at reception were attentive and helped with luggage which is always appreciated. Rooms were gorgeous, well cleaned and left me feeling sad about the other 'nice ' hotels I 'd stayed in before. The staff during the function were very good at keeping us topped up on our drinks and the food served was of a good quality. The bed was comfy, I 'd have preferred former pillows but that 's just a personal preference and had I been inclined to ask I have no doubt they would have been available. Toiletries you 've forgotten are available on request from reception but the products provided in the room were of a high quality. I felt my shower was great but my colleague didn 't appreciate the water pressure provided by the very large waterfall head. A nice touch was some Easter Eggs in the room for our stay over the Easter weekend. Breakfast was buffet style with some other special items made to order, I 'd suggest checking this menu out but the basics I had for breakfast were very tasty and of high quality. Every member of staff I dealt with over the duration of the stay were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. As this was a work related trip the room wasn 't paid for by me, but the prices are high and maybe wouldn 't be my first choice due to budget for a weekend away, but for special occasions or a good mid week deal I would look here before other high end city locations."

"After finding out about Wrights Bites and their amazing breakfast on social media, we had to go down and try it for ourselves, and we were not disapointed. The Wrights Bites special is out of this world, the eggs are so good, and the sausages are to die for. This is our new weekly go to place to sit in an eat. "After waiting for months to try it, I finally had the chance to visit this restaurant at the York Food and Drink Festival today. It was well worth the wait! They even provided us with bottles of water while we waited in line as a thank you for our patience, which was greatly appreciated. Both my daughter and I absolutely loved the YorkyPud Pigs and the crunchy. The food was delicious! The staff was also very friendly, despite being busy with the long line of customers. I can't wait to go back for another meal. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you!"

"The staff at this restaurant are incredibly friendly, making for an excellent dining experience. The interactive tables also provide endless fun for children. I ordered a rib-eye steak cooked blue, which can be tricky to get right. They offered to cook it at my table, which I might try next time, but I wanted to see how they prepared it. The first attempt was still cold in the middle, but that wasn’t an issue for them. They simply placed it on the grill mat for another 30 seconds, and it turned out perfect. My daughter had a delicious waffle with speck and maple syrup, and she loved it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be returning."

"Popped in for a pub lunch with a good friend, I did call earlier and Elise the busy busy manager said no need to book and looked forward to seeing us. It was easy to find and it has an outside area and car park. We arrived to a busy pub serving food from hot beef sandwiches which looked fab to burritos and fish and chips .. good tasty pub fare. I plumped for a battered fish sandwich served with chunky chips and a salad my friend fish and chips all served fresh and yummy and all washed down with Timothy Taylor’s landlord beer: Puds we’re cheesecake homemade and ice cream all delicious. Special mention for the hard working friendly staff who made our visit even more enjoyable."

"Gréât location and good service. I’ve eaten here for breakfast and it was good. Just had an evening meal there because of the reviews and was left disappointed. Service again was good but the food was just ok. Pork was dry and the French beans looked to be past their sell by date. The reviews of food are always subjective as it’s down to personal perspective and experience, I do think there is easy room for improvement here. For now I will stick to their breakfasts and coffee"

"What a disappointment! We last visited some time ago and this lovely little pub seems to have gone to the dogs. We ordered drinks, unfortunately before we were told that no food was being served that day. We went to sit out side in the dirty little beer garden, strewn with rubbish and broken glass under the table and in fact were so disgusted we left our drinks and went elsewhere. The whole place needs refurbishing and it needs a good clean outside to bring it back to the Buffers we remember so well!"

"After a long walk along the canal, I popped into the Waterwitch on Easter Sunday with the intention of just having a quick coffee. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the dishes coming out from the kitchen looked so tempting that we decided to order the Sunday roast. The food was wonderful—delicately cooked fresh vegetables, and the meat was incredibly tender. What I appreciated the most was that my roast dinner came with gluten-free Yorkshire pudding, which I had never been offered before. Even better, they could prepare the salted caramel and chocolate brownie gluten-free as well. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and one we look forward to repeating."

"I went there for my birthday and was absolutely knocked away by this restaurant. If you love steak you will love the sharing 32oz trio of steaks with all the trimmings. The food was the best that I have had in Newport and well worth the visit. If your a gin fan then it's a must. They have an uncountable number of different gins that can be made to your liking."

"As a once a year visitors our custom won't be missed but I believe in a honest review whether good, bad or indifferent.. Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review in the hope the publican takes note. This is our annual visit on the way to paying our Christmas wishes to those family members who are no longer with us and reside in local cemeteries. We have been coming to the Flying Childers for the last ten years as a tradiition on our visits to Derbyshire. We arrived only 45 minutes after opening time to order drinks and food. We chose our fayre and went to order. From our two person choices, no mulled wine (it's Christmas!! no BBQ burger, no sour dough bread and no skinny chips..We made alternative choices as one would. When are coffee arrived it wasn't hot only just warm but we didn't complain. Our meals arrived and when my partner cut her chick pea pastie in half it was still frozen in the middle. I took this meal back to the bar area for a replacement. We couldn't believe that the same cut in half pastie arrived back, apparently warmed up in a microwave and replaced on the same plate as the rest of the half eaten meal. And the salad looked like it had been scraped off the plate and same salad replaced. I would have expected a clean plate a completely fresh pastie and a replacement accompanied meal! Alas we won't be returning again"

"We have been many times to the Pack Horse and never once been disappointed, on this occasion there were 11 people and 2 dogs for Sunday lunch, it was as always amazing, the food was delicious and hot, everyone enjoyed their choice of food, the drinks aplenty and service was second to none, we were also celebrating our friends 60th birthday and nothing was too much trouble for the waiter to bring out the cake that we had turned up with, complete with lit candles and joining in the fun and birthday song. If you have never been please go and if you have, keep going, we have to support business to keep them alive and this business is certainly not complacent about what they deliver day in, day out. "We have been dining at Odfellows for more than 8 years and have never been disappointed! We made a reservation for August 21st to celebrate my Father-in-Law's birthday. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Danielle and her colleague who provided excellent service, as always. We ordered two lamb roast dinners, fish and chips for our main course, along with delicious starters and desserts. The food and service were exceptional, as they always are - we always rate our visits to Odfellows as 10/10! As a local, I highly recommend Odfellows to everyone we meet, in hopes that they will also attract new customers from further away."

"1 star for several reasons. Firstly hygiene. The person who served me moved from cleaning work surfaces with a dirty cloth and spray cleaner, straight to making my coffee and putting his dirty fingers inside the cups. Clearly instructed to wear gloves all the staff seem not to know that it is to protect the customers- not them. Secondly attitude. The coffee was served to our table but without sugar. When I asked for sugar I was told, “It’s up on the counter with the napkins’. All said with, ‘attitude’. If you don’t like the job try street cleaning, you may find it more rewarding. Thirdly. When I complained the apparent manager just demonstrated couldn’t care less skills. Lastly. The coffee was almost undrinkable. This cafe is adjoining Waitrose but separate. It serves some lovely food but because of the lack of hygiene, uneducated staff, and truck coffee, I will go elsewhere. Avoid it."
