"The service was good, and the food was also nice. They managed to bring us to the winter garden, which was sunny and filled with plants. You have an extensive wine list. We had the French rosé, which was very light and fruity. It was Sunday, so we all got the lamb roast, no complaints and clean plates from all.. The lamb melted in the mouth and all trimmings were well cooked. To finish we had Tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake and the chocolate maki, the Maki was the most favorite was a little hard, the other two were light, smooth and tasty."

"Hidden below street level, this restaurant is as one keen reviewer eloquently put it 'a tourist trap ' for nearby visitors to the museums of South Kensington. In essence it hosts an expensive menu with average tasting food. I 'm sure they 're only surviving because of a guaranteed minimum level of customers who 'll unwittingly stroll in without heeding the warnings of these reviews. In the restaurant 's defence, the decor is homely and the service from staff is very attentive indeed I was asked by two separate staff during my meal whether everything was okay which felt a bit parental but mostly non threatening all the same. I 'd gone for the margherita pizza which at £7 seemed like a bargain. You could easily get full on this, despite tasting rather bland. However, I was feeling somewhat adventurous and decided to add pickled artichokes (nope, not fresh) and mushrooms as toppings for £1.50 extra each. Thinking this wouldn 't be enough, I included a side of spinach into the mix for £5: what I was served with was a small bowl of half boiled baby spinach leaves really should 've been another pizza topping as that 's what it turned into. Overall, disappointingly average, and they 'll include a service charge because they expect you to be one of many money donning tourists sprinkling cash in the already hideously wealthy area. Try your appetite resolving luck elsewhere."

"One of my best friends Kristine has a flat next to Santini so I have been walking past this restaurant for more than 10 years and have always wanted to go there, but up to this point have never really had an opportunity, so I was very excited when my friend Toby suggested we go there for lunch. "Tuesday Night after Spurs late night eats!. On a Tuesday night we were way up north in Tottenham to see the Spurs destroy Sunderland. Great game, but the Tube was down so we had to walk quite a bit and eventually got a cab that took us back to Notting Hill. "Lovely spot right by the canal. Service was a little slow to start. They hit two of my pet peeves immediately-offered water we said still. Offered bread we said yes. Charged us £15 for two bottles of water and £10 for two small basket of bread. Charging for these items was not listed on the menu, nor mentioned by the staff. When I went to their website it noted Happy Hour-but failed to mention it was only for bar seating. All this said, my entree of sea bass was excellent. My partner had the brisket and was amazed how it just fell off the bone. Would go again, just not get clipped for water and bread."

"Disappointing experience after deciding to book here having read many great recent reviews. Maybe just caught them on a poor night. Arrived 8.45 for pre booked 8.45 table which wasn't quite ready. Front of House advised table not quite ready. Didn't offer any drink or menu to look at. Came back 10 mins later said if wouldn't be long, this time no drink offered but menus were provided. It felt a bit awkward waiting at entrance. Sat at table and ordered Oysters which were good, scallops and mini Moules which were good. A new waitress looked after us who although quite inexperienced was good fun and very pleasant. No issue at all with her service Ordered Monkfish and Lobster Thermidore and 2 sides. Monkfish was very average (i was asked if i was happy to have on the bone and it felt like they were low on stock, very little fish arrived and felt like they would have been better saying monk fish was off menu than trying to sell a portion that was inadequate) and the Lobster was rubbery and very chewy, the sides were forgotten and we had to ask for them. Complained to the manager and she offered a refund on the mains and sides which we accepted. Had to push to get the service charge removed which was pretty cheeky I would say. In summary the food quality of mains wasn't good, the welcome was poor but they did handle the complaint ok and were very forthcoming with amending bill to keep us happy which suggests to me they knew it was poor."

"Pubs that only take payment by card should have this writ LARGE on their door and on their menus! Why wait until it comes to time to pay the bill to say I 'm sorry, we only take payment by card ? Well I 'm sorry, I only make payment by cash. I understand the benefits of only taking card payments but they should make this clear before they take orders otherwise it leads to an embarrassing experience at the end of an otherwise pleasant afternoon. For this sole reason I will never return and I will never recommend."

"An excellent place. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there. That evening the bar had an event evening. Creative cuisine was on the program and what the team from the Alte Oberförsterei conjured up live was absolutely delicious and, on top of that, beautifully presented. The team was absolutely well-rehearsed and very friendly. The boss was very interested in the feedback from the guests and took a lot of time for it. "Very diasappointing dining experience in an overprised restaurant. They are selling tables at the Restaurant entrance where you feel like dining at Victoria station apart from the chilly wind that accompanies your dinner. Food was goodbut some has been served cold. Changed on request. We had a three course meal and we were out of the Restaurant by 21:22. This is definetely far away from an Italian dining experience. Everything was rushed, service more than mediocre and nobody even asked if we enjoyed our food. Leaving the Restaurant we were told Arrivederci! This is when I told the concierge that this is most likely not to happen. He wasn‘t even interested to find out why. It is a pitty for such a lovely location."

"I am a real fan of Obica but normally visit the one at St Paul’s, as I found myself on the other side of town I visited the one on Polcan Street. This venue continued my excellent experiences with Obica, a very nice venue with big windows and friendly and welcoming staff. I have worked my way through the Obica menu so I know what I like but the standard was maintained and I had a very enjoyable meal, I did make a slight change and had the cauliflower and chard gratin which was like a hug in a bowl, particularly on a winters day. I would recommend anyone to try Obica in any of the London branches for a really treat, particularly the pizzas!"

"My husband treated me to the 5-course tasting menu for my birthday, which included a glass of champagne for £65 per person. The meal itself was pleasant, with good portion sizes, tasty food, and friendly service. The jazz music added to the atmosphere without being too loud to carry on a conversation. However, the prices for drinks were steep, with a glass of rose costing £15 and the cheapest bottle priced at £60, which we found to be excessive. The lounge we were seated in for pre-dinner drinks was beautifully decorated, but unfortunately, the strong smell of cigar smoke and constant use of the cold outside door made it uncomfortable. Due to these factors, we do not recommend this venue and do not plan to return."

"The worst meal I have in my entire life. Firstly, the “focaccia” on the menu is not focaccia at all. It is a thin, crispy, overcooked and dry sort of flatbread was disgusting. For the main I ordered the truffle pasta and my friend ordered the mussel pasta. Both pastas was clearly old/ not fresh as it arrived in clumps that would not separate. "Seriously underwhelmed. Water took our order for tomahawk steak (on the main menu) for two adults and a child. We were really looking forward to sharing that nice, juicy steak. "Booked for valentines day. They could not find my reservation but we got seated anyway. It took a while before anyone came around to take the order. There were shells in my crab salad. The waiters did not pay attention as to when wine needs to be refilled. One of them nearly took the plate away from us without asking if we were finished. 2 mins after the second course was served someone came around and asked if we were finished with it despite the fact the plate was nearly untouched. "Stumbled upon Belvedere walking in Holland Park and decided to check it out. What a beautiful restaurant! The staff were knowledgeable not only about the menu, but the whole story of the place. As it turns out, the building dates back to the 17th century and was once a ballroom. The restaurant’s been there for a while, but changed owners recently and has undergone full transformation. New dining rooms are absolutely stunning, an homage to the venue’s history, beautifully lit and full of greenery which creates an organic bond between the outside and inside. I’m interior design aficionado myself, visiting unique venues all over the world and I’m usually quite picky. Here I could not fault a single thing atmosphere-wise. The food looks a bit simple, but ingredients are top notch and the flavours were on point. Highly recommend for a romantic date or special occasion!"

"what a nice place to eat. as a party of 10 baby in high chair, we were greeted eagerly. we had 3 children in our party, and as soon as we arrived they were offered water and something to nibble. the service was attentive without being intrusive, the baby was treated like a printine! he was even treated with his own bowl cherry tomatoes. the food was excellent in quality, and there was a corresponding gap between the curses. we have managed to find a cheap gavi and montepulciano on the wine list. the atmosphere was alive without being loud. if I didn't live in the west, I'd be back, probably at least once at 15 o'clock."
